    Hi there! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry y0u’re hitting some trouble with recurring events.

    Charlotte, I’ll be specifically addressing Clemencia in this thread and you’re totally welcome to follow along and try any of the suggestions. If you’d like direct support, I’d suggest starting a new thread.

    It sounds like there may be a theme or plugin conflict at play. Will you please run through the steps outlined in our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if you notice a difference under those conditions?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

    When testing for conflicts, please test with new recurring events after the default theme has been activated and all other plugins have been deactivated, as I’m not sure that those steps will have an impact on existing events.

    Give those steps a shot and let me know what you find. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Howdy James–nice to see you again!

    I see what you mean. Based on the options you have checked in the User Role Editor plugin, everything that is showing in the Events menu should be there. If you wanted to remove Venues and Organizers, then you would uncheck those capabilities as well.

    I can see how the Event Add-Ons option could get in the way though. Unfortunately, that one’s not tied to a specific user role. However, we do have a tutorial on how to remove it across the board.

    Let me know if you have any additional follow-up questions. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Lisa, and welcome to the forums! Let’s see what’s happening here with your recurring events.

    The “Recurring event instances” option in Events > Settings should affect the Event List widget as well. In fact, it does only display the first instance when I tested it out on my local setup.

    I know this sounds dumb, but the first thing I’d check is that the setting is in fact selected Events > Settings (screenshot). Check that and then hit the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the screen just for due diligence.

    Hopefully that helps but, if not, then it sounds like there may be a theme or plugin conflict at play. Will you please run through the steps outlined in our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if you notice a difference under those conditions?

    Hey there, Sabrina! Thanks for following up and sharing your code–that’s helpful.

    We are unable to support custom development questions here in the forums, but off the bat, I think you will want to check out your content.php file since it contains the content being called and make sure it is properly calling events content that can be displayed. That would be my first stop.

    You may also be interested in this post and this thread which show examples of how others used WP_Query to call events. You may also be interested in our tutorial on how to use tribe_get_events() as an alternative.

    Let’s see what else your client comes back with and take it from there. Keep us posted. 🙂

    Good question! I don’t believe we’re using any custom CSS for the maps themselves, but you can see the template tags generated for the functions used to display them in /plugins/the-events-calendar/public/template-tags/google-map.php.

    For an event deeper look, the following classes might give you some helpful insight:

    • Tribe__Events__Google_Data_Markup (located in /the-events-calendar/lib/Google_Data_Markup
    • TribeEvents_EmbeddedMap (located in /the-events-calendar/lib/EmbeddedMaps

    That last one in particular contains the scripts that enqueued for the map functionality.

    Hi there, Thomas! Sorry you’re hitting some trouble here with the update.

    I’ve seen this happen when there is a custom snippet in the functions.php file. Did you happen to have a snippet in there that customizes the WooTickets plugin?

    If so, try wrapping it in this:

    if(class_exists('TribeWooTickets')) {
    // The rest of your function...
    }

    That should clear up any conflicts. Please give that a shot and let me know if it helps. 🙂

    Cheers!
