ParticipantHi There,
I built a site a few months ago and the calendar has been great for event tickets etc. The client has just reported a bug in the iphone which I have tested. When on an iphone and you click on a date in table view (little dot) nothing happens, and the text doesnt shorten to three letters. Not sure why this happens Ive checked the console for errors and it seems clean, is there anyway I can go about debugging this? The calendar in question is :-

The tribe extensions I have are Pro, Filter bar and wootickets. The site is quite customised so I am a little reluctant to just update wordpress and cross my fingers as a little fix could turn into a major problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

MemberHi there, Simon! Sorry you’re hitting some trouble here with the calendar in mobile view–let’s see if we can figure out what’s happening.
I just checked the site on an iPhone (iOS 8) using mobile Safari and the calendar seems to display and function correctly (screenshot). Did you happen to find a solution or do you see something different on your screen? Perhaps I’m looking at the wrong link:Â http://www.bradfordgrammar.com/events/category/junior-news/
Let’s start there and see how we can troubleshoot further.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thankyou for your reply, unfortunately we still have the issue however it does work on some devices. The client says she has it working on an Iphone 5 but not on 4 (not sure on the IOS version finding out).
I have tried it on my Iphone 6 on IOS 8.1.2 and this is what I have below in safari :-

However on the same device in chrome it works as it should and is perfect. So I am finding it very difficult to troubleshoot with it working on certain iphones and not on others in safari. I am running short of ideas now.
Many Thanks

MemberHi Jamie! Thanks for following up and sharing more information–that really helps. 🙂
I see you’re running a pretty late version of the plugins (3.6.1). Does the issue still crop up when updating to the latest versions of each plugin? We’re currently on 3.9.1 for The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO.
My hunch is that the older version of the plugin isn’t holding up with newer browser versions and that an update will help remedy this.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the reply. I have setup a mock domain as I had a feeling this might be the case which is here :-

Excuse the page as I expected the whole templates fallen apart. However the same issue persists on my phone works in chrome but not on Safari.
Many Thanks

MemberHmm, this is really strange. I have tried testing the mock domain on the following:
- iPhone 6 (iOS8)
- iPhone 5S (iOS 7 and iOS8.1)
- iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1)
- iPad Mini (iOS 8.1)
All are using Safari and all seem to be working. I’m not saying the issue isn’t there–it’s just hard to troubleshoot if I’m unable to see it.
I know it sounds trivial, but does clearing cache make any difference? How about if you switch to a default WordPress theme? Just to erase any doubt, will you please try the steps outlined in our Testing for Conflicts Guide and let me know if you see any difference under those conditions?
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Yes it is very strange not an issue I have come across before, as you mentioned troubleshooting it is near to impossible. I did go through your list before contacting regards default theme and plugins disaling. Here it is :-

I have gone back to the client with your list and my list of tested devices which work to see if they can give me a more definitive list of devices that are experiencing the issue.
Cheers

MemberCool, thanks for following up and for setting up the default theme–everything looks good there on my end as well.
Let’s see what else your client comes back with and take it from there. Keep us posted. 🙂
Cheers!
