    Hi Keith,

thanks for the screenshot! I removed them since they contained your license information and wanted to protect that, but I was able to look at them before I did.

So, those screenshots confirm that you have the Eventbrite Tickets plugin installed and activated. That’s a good start!

Next up, will you please head to Events > Settings > Help, scroll down to the bottom of the screen, then copy and paste the System Information here for me as a private reply? I want to confirm some of your settings and check for any red flags.

    Thanks!

My pleasure! Sorry I don;t have an answer for you right out of the gate, but I’ll leave this thread open a while in case something comes back that we can help answer–and, of course, we’d be happy to. 🙂

    Hi Russ,

I see my last reply was marked as the correct answer–thanks for following up and confirming that for me! I’m so glad that helped out. I’ll go ahead and close this thread but please do feel free to reach back out if any other questions pop up and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hey @mono,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the issue here with email confirmations!

It’s a little tough to diagnose because Eventbrite Tickets actually doesn’t play any role in sending emails for Eventbrite. While it does sync events between WordPress and Eventbrite, the actual ticket transaction take place entirely in Eventbrite, including the email communications such as purchase confirmations and event reminders.

I hate to simply send you towards Eventbrite support but I think that’s probably the best route here. That is, unless you have some sort of other integration with Eventbrite that allows you to send your own purchase confirmation and event reminder emails. Is that the case?

    Thanks!

    Hi Nikolaus,

    1. Where can I download the latest Version of Eventscalendar and -Pro?

You can find The Events Calendar here:

    The Events Calendar

And you can find the The Events Calendar PRO here on this site by logging in and heading to My Account > Downloads.

    2. I can deactivate and delete Eventscalendar and Eventscalendar Pro and reinstall WITHOUT loosing my database-entries or changes I made using my themes child-theme-folder?

Yes, you can. As with anything, I would also suggest backing up your files and database in the process.

    Cheers!

    Hi Lara!

Just to confirm, is the template override for photo/single-event.php placed in the following folder in your theme: /tribe-events/pro/photo/single-event.php

I only ask because I’ve made the mistake of not creating a pro folder many times myself and just want to rule that here as well. 🙂

If it is located correctly, what function are you using to call the location and what info are you trying to display? For example to show the city and state, you could use something like:

    <?php echo tribe_get_city() . ', ' .tribe_get_state(); ?>

…or, if you want to show the full venue information: tribe_get_venue()

I’ve also gotten the year to show up for the dates when there is a date range for the event, but not when it is a single day.

Yeah, that filter is specifically for multi-day events. It will take some additional wrangling to apply the format to single-day events as well. In other words, you’re not missing anything–it just needs to be taken further. 🙂

    Cheers!

Thanks, @Corrado! This is super helpful.

Will you please try installing the latest version of The Events Calendar PRO? I see you have 3.12 installed but 3.12.2 is now available and I know there were some patches released in the latest version for recurring events. You can find the latest version by logging into this site and heading to My Account > Downloads.

Give that a shot and let’s see if that helps make a difference. 🙂

Hi Cat, thanks for following up!

If Facebook Events looks complicated to set up, that’s a failure on our part. It’s actually fairly simple, considering what it does and, once it is set up, you don’t have to think about it again since it auto-imports events to your site for you.

Are the events shareable as in if a Social Media plug in is enabled for posts and pages, will that extend to the Events?

Absolutely. Events are an extension of default WordPress Posts, so as long as a plugin (like the one I shared earlier) supports custom post types (which it does), then that will be extendable to Events as well. 🙂

Did you have any other questions that I can help with? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

Yeah, you can totally edit what I provided and remove the start and end times. There’s another filter you can use to remove those as well, which might be a little more manageable. 🙂

I’m SO glad the maps are up and working again–thanks a ton for confirming that with us. 🙂

We’d be happy to help you with the Community Events submission issue as well. But will you first open a new thread for it? That will help us keep the conversation in the thread specific to the maps and make it easier for us to follow up.

When you do, it would be great to include some more details of the issue. For example, I see that the following page works:

    http://volume4volume.com/events/community/add

Community Events uses the same login as WordPress, but on the front end instead of the back. In other words, registered users of WordPress will be able to log into the calendar from this page and submit events from there.

If that’s different from your you’re experiencing, please do note that in the new thread–including what is different–and we’d be happy to troubleshoot that with you.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now and we’ll see you in the new one. 🙂

    Thanks!

Good question–are you looking to modify a specific view? You can find the templates for any of the calendar views in /the-events-calendar/src/views. You’ll notice there are subfolders from there from where you can get to specific views, like List View or Month View.

If you’re looking to modify one of the PRO views instead, you can find those in the events-pro plugin folder instead: /src/views/pro/.

Oh, and if you haven’t checked it out already, I’d highly suggest looking over our Themer’s Guide because it provides thorough instructions on how to override templates instead of altering them in the plugin folder–excellent to make sure your work is properly saved. 🙂

    Hello,

You’re in luck–we actually have an article in our Knowledgebase that covers exactly that. Please check it out and follow the instruction provided there.

Hi @Corrado, thanks for following up!

Hmm, I’m still unable to replicate the issue though I do see what you’re talking about on the link you sent me.

Will you please head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the System Information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here for me in a private reply? I just want to make sure my settings match yours.

    Thanks!

in reply to: Detection of duplicate events #1013713

    Hi Jason,

I do not expect that a duplicate event would be detected in the case of multiple feeds that recur daily–at least, the plugin was not designed to that intentionally. If the event is indeed detected as a duplicate from multiple feeds, then it is because the post attributed (title, date, etc.) are indicating it is a duplicate event–not a specific post ID or iCal UID.

If the title, day/time, or location has changed will it treat that as a new event?

Yes, it will be treated as a new event if that information has changed.

    Thanks,
    Geoff
