ParticipantHello,
I’m a new customer as of yesterday and cannot seem to get the map view to work. I wanted to purchase more add-ons but seems the pro version map view does not work for some reason. Can you please help me.

ParticipantHowdy Joseph,
It’s nice to meet you. I would love to help you figure out whats going on.
What happens specifically on Map view that does not work? Do you have a public link to your website where I can take a look?
Cheers!
– Brook

ParticipantHowdy Joseph,
From what I can see there are no upcoming events. The map will have a marker/icon for each event that appears in the list of events underneath the map. But when you see the message “There were no results found” instead of a list of events, that’s a sign that they are no event or markers to show. You should add some to see the markets.
Does that make sense?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Joseph,
I am still seeing “No results found”. As long as that message exists it is expected that there will be no map markers. And that message should exist when there are not upcoming events.
Have you added some upcoming test events yet? How far in the future are you adding these? Perhaps an even fro next month that has a venue with a valid address attached to it. Keep in mind that map is for upcoming events, and those events must have addresses.
Thanks for getting back. Once you have a valid upcoming event for display on the map, does it work as expected?

ParticipantWow dude really? Every other view shows the events except the map view. I just added a christmas event on christmas day. I’ve added multiple test events. The whole plugin works fine except the map view. All the events have addresses. Is there a way you can have someone else supporty my request. It seems you didn’t event examine my events page to diagnos the problem with your plugin.

ParticipantHowdy Joseph,
I am sorry. I should have checked the other pages on your site a second time once you said you were going to add events. That was definitely my bad.
In order for this to not be showing valid results something would have to be mucking with the WP Query on our map page. It could be one of the customizations to your website, perhaps ones made by the theme. It could be a third party plugin if you have any installed. It could even be a caching system.
There would be two good ways to proceed. 1) Install the WP Debug bar (click here) and revisit the maps page. It is best to enable WP_DEBUG and SAVEQUERIES as outlined in the debug bar description. From there, could you copy/paste the info from these three tabs: Queries, WP Query, Request? If there are any PHP errors or notices please copy/paste those here as well. Option 2) Do a conflict test as outlined in this guide (click here).
You might event do both of the above to gather the most information possible. In the mean time I am reassigning this topic as you requested. The gentleman following up will be our support team manager, Geoff. Again, I apologize for forgetting to double check the other pages a second time. I understand if you would prefer someone else to help you with this.
Cheers!

MemberHi Joseph,
Just wanted to chime in directly to say hi and let you know i’ll be able to help you from here. Sorry again for the initial but I’m confident we’ll be able to figure this on out together.
The two options Brook noted above are solid and are the right direction to go from here. Please do give those a try and let’s see what we find.
Thanks,

ParticipantThank you Brook and Geoff I really appreciate it.
I tried option 2 and still the same problem. Here is what I got from option 1.
Request:events
Query String:
post_type=tribe_events&eventDisplay=default
Matched Rewrite Rule:
(?:events)/?$
Matched Rewrite Query:
post_type=tribe_events&eventDisplay=default

MemberExcellent, thanks Joseph! This helps a ton and I appreciate you giving those two options a shot.
Two other things we can try from here:
- Fix Geolocation Data. If you head to Events > Settings and scroll down to the Map Settings section, there is a button to “Fix venues data.” Will you please click that and see if it helps generate the locations on the map? Note that you may need to clear your browser cache to see the result.
- Use Coordinates. There is the option to input the latitude and longitude of a venue, which will provide additional info to the Google Map API and help place the map markers as a fallback. If you edit one of your venues (let’s say this one) and enter those coordinates (screenshot), does that make a difference?
Thanks for your patience and cooperation as we dig into this together!

ParticipantStarting to look better Geoff. Thank you. Is there a way my visitors wont have to input coordinates?
October 10, 2015 at 11:26 am #1013468Geoff
MemberAwesome, I’m glad that’s helping! Thanks for confirming.
I certainly hope that won’t be the case. For example, it wasn’t for me when I tested a venue at the same location. I have a feeling it has something to do with that fact that only a portion of the address was entered and that it would have done better with a full street number in there as well. The map functionality is pretty slick, but only as good as the Google Maps API, which is uses to locate the address and properly mark it on the map.
Sorry again for the initial hiccup! Is everything else working ok?
Thanks!

ParticipantGreat Geoff the map view is fixed and fully functional. I’m not having any luck enabling a register button for visitors to add events. It only goes to my wordpress login and not a separate.
