MemberGood question! The calendar does not include sidebars by default. You can switch your calendar settings (Events > Settings > Display) to use one of your theme’s page templates that uses a sidebar. Alternatively, you could follow the suggestion offered in this thread to customize the calendar template.
Cheers!

MemberHey Ian,
First off, nice work detailing the issue! I really appreciate the step-by-step instructions and the fact that you tested for conflicts as well. You rock!
I was able to replicate the same issue and have opened a ticket in our system to check it out. I’ll set this thread to Pending Fix for now but will be sure to keep you posted with new information as I learn more.
Thanks for the heads up!

MemberHey Anthony and welcome to the forums!
Is there a page on your site that uses the /calendar slug? You can check this by heading to Pages > All Pages from the WordPress admin.
If you do, that warning is just letting you know that The Events Calendar is also set to use that slug and is going to override the other page that is set up with the same slug. You can disable the message by either changing the slug of The Events Calendar or the other page.
Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHey @pylon,
That’s a great question!
It looks like we did not pursue the option to allow imports by non-admins because we were trying to follow WordPress’s own guidelines which only allow admins to import data.
That said, it would be great if you could add that to our feature request forum–that will allow others to vote on the idea as well and put it on the radar for looking into further.
Sorry I don’t have a concrete solution for you here, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks!

MemberHey Lain — nice to see you again!
For the ticket description in the email, you can accomplish this by modifying the views > tickets > email.php from within the Core Events Calendar plugin (Not the WooTickets plugin) and copying the file into your active theme following our Themer’s Guide. You can then add the event description wherever you would like within that file.
Will that work for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey @flyingarts, thanks for following up!
we’ve started making some changes but notices that it also changes the widget in the sidebar
Yeah, the shortcode is another method for calling the widget, so any changes to the template would be reflected everywhere the widget is displayed.
You could try using conditional statements to separate the customizations you make to the template from the rest of the codebase. For example, if you might look into the is_active_widget() function to look for the ID of your embedded widget and only make changes to that widget instance.
is there a way to display a message though the shortcode when there are not events to display.
Hmm, I know this is built into the widget template by default. In fact, you can see it in the widgets/list-widget.php template at Line 65. That notice should plop in there right out of the box.
Cheers!

MemberHi John,
It’s good that your host was able to increase memory–thanks for doing that!
The fact that we’re seeing so many new notices now in place of the memory limit points to the possibility of a conflict, perhaps with another installed plugin. Will you please run through the steps outlined in this article? It will help us identify what conflict we’re looking at–if any–and how to proceed from there.
Please let me know what you find from that test!

December 11, 2015 at 7:35 am in reply to: Next and Previous buttons display the wrong event dates (cont.) #1039638Geoff
MemberHi Lin,
Quite a bit has happened since this thread was opened in October. Since then, we’ve released The Events Calendar 4.0 and even just yesterday, an update to that–4.0.1.
I would recommend setting up a development site out of good practice for any WordPress development. That gives you a good and safe place to test any and all updates to WordPress as well as plugins without any risks to your live site.
Either way, however, please do read the release notes I linked to above for 4.0 and 4.0.1 to see what has changed in our plugins and proceed with an update–preferably testing first and backing up any data. 4.0 is a significant update and, while it fixes many bugs that were in the previous version, it also may break any customizations you have made to the calendar, if you have them.
Let’s start down this path and see if it helps with the issue you reported. Please do keep me posted and let me know if any questions pop up during the update process!
Thanks,

MemberHi there, Katrin!
Good news–we just released 4.0.1 today and this is indeed fixed in that version. In fact, here is a screenshot of the List Widget showing the “View More” link at the end of the list, which points to the list of events.
Is that what you were looking for? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Nico,
Thanks so much for the kind words and suggestions! I’m stoked to hear that you not only love using Filter Bar but care enough to dig deep into it and provide some stellar suggestions.
I would imagine that #1 can be achieved with our template override structure, particularly those for customizing calendar styles.
#2 sounds like an interesting idea. Admittedly, Filter Bar isn’t the most customizable plugin, so any ideas you have would be awesome to see on our feature request forum, if you would like to share them there.
#3 might either be a theme or plugin conflict. Do you happen to have Yoast SEO installed? I’ve seen conflicts in the (way) past reporting something similar and wonder if that could be the source. Then again, a conflict test is often the best approach for finding out.
#4 would take a fair level of custom development, I’m afraid. I bet it would be possible, though probably not without touching core file, which is something I would not recommend for the sake of future updates. Could be another good instance of sharing a feature request.
Thanks again for the writing in and sharing your thoughts! Is there anything else I can help you with, or does this help cover things for now?
Cheers!

MemberJust curious: did you deactivate PRO and then delete it before trying to install the fresh copy? If not, please do try that to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
GeoffGeoff
Memberthanks for the additional info!
What happens if you temporarily remove the tribe-events folder from the theme? Please do back it up on your desktop or something so you can place it back in after checking.
Another thing I would like to try is see if the issue persists when switching to a default WordPress theme. What happens if you switch to Twenty Fifteen and deactivate other plugins? Does the error pop up in those conditions as well?
Thanks!
