ParticipantSuddenly, when I try to edit my event categories, I click on “events” then “event category” and choose any category to edit, and I get directed to a page that just says “You did not select an item for editing” and I am suddenly in the post–> tags section, not in the evens section. I have two ACF fields to enhance the category taxonomy (adding a category image and category color), and there has not been a single problem till just suddenly. I even updated all plugins and still get the issue. Has anyone else encountered this?
I think the issue has something to do with tags, as whenever I try to edit the event categories, I am not directed to this URL
I can create new event categories, with my custom fields. I just can’t edit them.
I’ve deactivated all other plugins and tried a bunch of other possible combinations (even deleted tags that match the category names). Nothing.

MemberHey Ian,
First off, nice work detailing the issue! I really appreciate the step-by-step instructions and the fact that you tested for conflicts as well. You rock!
I was able to replicate the same issue and have opened a ticket in our system to check it out. I’ll set this thread to Pending Fix for now but will be sure to keep you posted with new information as I learn more.
Thanks for the heads up!
Geoff

ParticipantHaving the same issue here following an update of all plugins.
From my testing – this URL works:
https://domain.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=tribe_events_cat&post_type=tribe_events&&tag_ID=25&action=editThis (the actual ‘edit’ link) doesn’t:
https://domain.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?action=edit&wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit-tags.php%3Ftaxonomy%3Dtribe_events_cat%26post_type%3Dtribe_events#038;taxonomy=tribe_events_cat&tag_ID=24&post_type=tribe_eventsWill update if I find anything more specific.

ParticipantUPDATE: The taxonomy isn’t being passed to the URL (only in the return url)

ParticipantGeoff: we just updated to 4.0.2, thinking it was the update to fix the issue discussed in this thread. If it was an update to fix the “did not select an item for editing” issue, it’s not working afaict. Was the update to fix this, or something else?

ParticipantHello Geoff.
this issue is related to WordPress 4.4. Also older versions of The Events Calendar do not allow you to edit categories anymore under WP 4.4. This issue was logged on December 11. Since then Modern Tribe has published two bug fix releases, but they did not contain a fix. Could you please adjust the priority to a higher value to secure that the fix for this is included in the next bug fix release? Would be much appreciated.
Best Regards,

MemberHey Marcus — 4.0.2 addressed other fixes. This one’s coming. ๐
@Fridolin — we expect this one to go out in the next release and we’ll certainly keep you posted.
Cheers!

MemberGood news everyone!
Weโve just release a maintenance release that addresses this issue. Please look for updates to your Events plugin(s) on your site. Thank you for your patience while we worked to address the reported issues. And donโt forget to review the release notes for all the details on version 4.0.3.
While our testing shows that the new release fixes the problem reported here, sites are different and itโs possible that there are edge cases. If you are still seeing the issue after you update your plugins, please post a new thread so we can look into it further.
Thank you for your support!
Best,
