    Hi Karen,

So sorry for the trouble here! Let’s dig in and see what’s happening because that’s certainly odd.

First off, will you please head over to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen and then paste that here for me as a private reply? That will help me heck a few key settings that could be throwing something off.

I visited your site and it looks possible that Events Calendar PRO is not active. While you get your system information, you may want to check your Plugins screen and ensure that Events Calendar PRO is both active and at the latest version, which is currently 4.1.

Let’s start here and see what we find.

    Thanks!
    Geoff

Oh geez, that is super weird! I honestly haven’t seen this come up in the past and anything related to templates is often resolved when changing the event template setting (Events > Settings > Display) to the Default Events Template.

It really does sound like the theme is crafted in such a way that it is interfering with the default WordPress template hierarchy — were you able to reach out to the theme author? I think that would be the best avenue for this issue. And, of course, I’m happy to keep this thread open while you do in case there is anything I can help answer from the plugin’s end.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

    Hey @Graphic,

So sorry for the trouble here! We are indeed aware of this issue and have a ticket in our system to address it. I have noted this thread in that ticket and will be sure to follow up with you when a patch is released.

Thanks for the heads up and for your patience while we work on this!

    Hello Paula,

Good question! You will need a few plugins to get going:

I do also want to note that we offer a full refund on all products within 30 days of purchase. We want to make sure the plugins meet your needs, so this should give you some time to give them a test drive.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers,

    Hey Kurt,

Oh man, that does indeed sound like a conflict with the plugin and the theme!

The only shortcodes offered in Events Calendar PRO at the moment are the ones that embed the calendar widgets on any page or post. Unfortunately, that does mean there are no shortcodes for full calendar views or single events at this time.

I think the only other option would be to construct your own post template for single events using our available functions to pull the content into the template. You may even be able to use the single-event.php template as the blueprint for that template.

Does the theme author provide any support and, if so, do they have some ideas on why single.php would be overriding the custom post type template for events?

    Thanks!

Hey Zack, thanks for following up!

Absolutely–The Events Calendar itself is a free download, so there’s not cost to entry there. The premium add-ons (e.g. Community Events) do come backed with a full refund within 30 days of purchase should something not site well with you for any reason. And once you have a premium license, you gain access to our forums here where we provide technical support and guidance.

    Hello @alchetecwebdev,

So sorry for the missing widget! Would you be willing to head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen, then pasting it here as a private reply for me? That will help me dig into this a little more and check for some possible solutions.

    Thanks!

    Hey Zack,

We do indeed have a Community Events add-on intended specifically for allowing guests (you determine whether they need to be logged in or not) to submit events directly to your calendar.

If you’re looking to automatically import from an external source and that source has a valid iCal URL, then our iCal Importer is a great option. That allows you to import from any number of external sources, set the frequency the plugin checks for new events, and decide whether those events are imported as Drafts or as Published posts.

I’m afraid that neither plugin is designed to export events. The Events Calendar itself does include an iCal URL and that can be used by other calendar to export events to those calendars — but The Events Calendar itself will not actively push those events; the other calendars would be responsible for grabbing them.

Does this help answer your questions? I hope these options are a good fit for your site. 🙂

    Cheers,

    Hi Rob,

I was just checking out that link you provided and was unable to see a category name in there. Were you able to figure out a solution or is there another example where I can see what you’re trying to do? That would help a lot!

    Thanks so much,

    Hey Lindsay, great question!

With the latest release (4.1) you can now set a global number of tickets for sale, regardless of the number of tickets are sold for each type of ticket. So, for example, if you set your global number of tickets to 12, you can then leave each ticket with an open-ended number of available tickets and, as each ticket is sold, it decreases from the pool of 12 tickets rather than a set number of tickets for each type.

We have a handy tutorial that covers global stock in much more detail–definitely worth checking out!

Does this help clarify things a bit? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hello Shawn!

Good question–Event Tickets has an RSVP functionality that allows you to capture info on those planning to attend an event without the process of a ticket transaction. I know, the name is a little confusing but I do think that will do the trick.

And, best of all, the plugin is free and can be downloaded here:

    Event Tickets and Registration

Note that Event Tickets can run on its own with or without The Events Calendar installed. 🙂

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers,

Hi Kelsey and thanks for getting in touch!

Great question. We do not have a demo for testing out the back end of the plugins, but you can see how the plugin functions here: http://wpshindig.com/events/

We find that the best way to try the plugins out is to install them in your own environment. There are so many different WordPress themes and plugins out there that the best test for whether something works is to install it and give it a try. The Events Calendar itself is a free download and Events Calendar PRO comes backed with a full refund within 30 days of purchase. That should give you a fair amount of time to give things a whirl and see whether it’s the right fit for you.

As far as embedding the calendar, there are shortcodes included in Events Calendar PRO that allow you to embed calendar widgets on any page or post on your site, but unfortunately not on any external sites. One idea–if your other site is running WordPress–is to use our iCal Importer add-on which will grab events from one site and sync them up to the other.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help with any other pre-sales questions as best I can!

    Cheers,
    Geoff
