MemberHey John!
Thanks for the update. I’m happy cleaning up the duplicates ultimately worked out.
The reason all the duplicates were made in the first place, was because our upgrade script did not adequately account for slower systems with larger databases. The script would time out, creating the problem.
We designed the cleanup script to run slowly, more purposefully, so that it does not break if it times out. On slower systems with a lot of content, this can be a hassle, so I’m sorry for the inconvenience. I’m happy that you got to the other end just fine.
As far as the CSS problem is concerned, I’m not sure how best to approach it. CSS customizations are typically well beyond the scope of the forums, but we’re happy to make an exception for you. CSS customization is a speciality of mine, and I was able to find the answer to both problems on my system within an hour. I’ve tested and refined the answers above twice now and attached screenshots of the working site in the second response.
I’d love to get your site up and running the way you would like it. Could you answer the following questions?
– How/where are you adding the CSS?
– What web browser (brand and version) and operating system (brand and version) are you using?
– What is your monitor resolution? (1920×1080)
– Is your staging server publicly available?
– Could you privately reply a list of your theme and activated plugins? These should be listed in Events Settings > Help tab.Responsive styling on multiple systems can be a tricky business, so the answers to all of these questions are important. Especially in a framework with so many themes and plugins, figuring out the root cause can be difficult, but we’re very good at it! If you can answer these and maybe a few other questions we should be able to get your site cleaned up soon.
Does this make sense? Let me know if I can clarify anything.
Cheers!

MemberThanks for the info!
Considering the obscurity of the problem and the number of plugins installed, it would be best to start there.
Can you confirm that you have deactivated every plugin and reactivated each until it breaks again?
I know it might be a pain, but it will get to the root of the problem very quickly. It would be even better to test the plugins on a development or staging site or subdomain. When websites are mission critical, it is a best practice to have another instance to make the site before rolling it out to production. Thirty minutes now can save you huge headaches in the future!
Out support team does a sweep of the forums every 24 hours. Most times our responses are much faster than that; many times we respond several times a day. We do our best to offer fast and knowledgable support that is cost effective for everyone. I hope this helps! We have a very experienced staff and should be able to get you on your feet quickly!
Does this make sense? Let me know how I can help!

MemberHello questaweb,
Thanks for contacting us!
The sidebar tells me you are using not using the ‘Default Events Template’, but probably the ‘Default Page Template’ in the Events Settings > Display tab.
Your theme’s page might be showing the Featured Image, causing it to be shown twice. That, or the image is part of the content, but I’m uncertain.
Could you try two things for me?
– On a test site, could you change the theme to TwentyTwelve, or another standard theme? That should tell you if it is a theme conflict or something else.
– In the Display tab of the Events Settings page, could you try setting the Events Template to ‘Default Events Template’? I’m not sure that will work, but playing around with those Display settings might reveal the best answer for your theme.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

MemberHello manifdart,
Thanks for upgrading; sorry you are experiencing this!
I’ll do my best to troubleshoot, but its much more difficult without being able to reproduce the problem. The absolute best way to do this is to disable plugins. But let’s give it a shot!
The maps on single-events are generated using the addresses you have supplied. That’s why the maps on those pages work just fine http://manifdart.org/evenement/ron-benner-london-canada/
On the Map View that is failing though, those positions are latitude and longitude; data points generated automatically in the background from the addresses you supplied.
Typically, if that map is empty, if means the data points aren’t there and that the lat/lon script has failed. This can sometimes be caused by a theme/plugin conflict. And this of course is best tested on another site by deactivating plugins.
Here is something to try for now. Can you slightly change/update the address on one of the events? This may trigger the lat/lon generator and put it on the map.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

MemberHello studiopie,
Good to see you again, thanks for starting a new topic!
When I first gave that answer, I was thinking the same thing, it’s just a little out of place. We haven’t seen or heard much demand for a timezone field, so as for now it’s unfortunately a bit of an add-on. If you have a moment, we’d love for you to submit your idea to our UserVoice forum. We take user ideas and contributions very seriously, and many times their ideas end up in our future releases.
Unfortunately that level of customization goes beyond the scope of the forums, so I can’t take the time to give you an exact answer. Sorry about that! But, if you check out our Themer’s Guide, you could probably find information on what you’re looking for. In fact, I would look at this post about the meta-walker, to configure the meta display as you like it.

MemberHello lena1978,
You’re very welcome. Thanks for upgrading and thanks for the compliment! 😀
I wasn’t able to reproduce this on your site, I can see your individual events just fine! http://memovercph.dk/event/plus-abs-2/
Could you reply with an example link that isn’t working?
You may need to “flush permalinks,” by resaving your permalinks in the Settings > Permalinks admin page. If that is the problem that should fix it, but I’d have to see the problem first.
And thanks again for the good word! We’d love it if you would leave us a review and let people know how much you like the plugin! http://m.tri.be/jt

MemberHello quiquealien!
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Can you be more specific? The default functionality of the list view is to display events in chronological order, with the soonest event appearing first. For example >> http://wpshindig.com/events/upcoming/
Is that the functionality you are looking for?
Also, I tried but can’t find the events page on your site. Could you post a link here?
Thanks!

MemberHello lorrainebow,
Thanks for upgrading! We’ll do our best to get this sorted out right away!
This is an interesting problem! Can you tell me what themes and plugins you are using?
I haven’t seen this problem yet, but my gut says there might be a theme or plugin conflict.
Cheers!

MemberHi pagan11460!
Thank you for posting! In this forum we try to keep our threads focused on just one problem at a time. This ensures that we are addressing your specific problem instead of a general group one, and not possibly missing anything unique your situation.
These answers seem small enough to answer here this one time, but in the future we’d love if you could help us with this.
Headway –
Headway is not a currently supported theme for integration, because of some of the non standard practices they use. If you have a moment, we’d love for you to submit this to our UserVoice forum, or take the time to contact them. If there is enough demand to integrate with Headway, we may go the extra step to integrate in a future release. Right now however, there does not seem to be enough demand for the needed level of customization. We do take user ideas and contributions very seriously though, and many times their ideas end up in our future releases.
CSS –
As per you CSS question, unfortunately that level of customization goes beyond the scope of the forums. If you check out our Themer’s Guide, you could probably make a template override to display what you want.
Prelaunch fix –
Regarding your prelaunch fix, is there something specific I can help with? It looks great so far to me! http://68.169.37.74/~margare4/wpbakerygroupusa.com/site/events/

MemberHello larafarwell,
Sorry you’re getting that error! PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT is a pretty standard error people get, and it is usually related to the server configuration. See https://www.google.com/search?q=PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT
How do you upload files to your site? If might be better in this case to unzip Pro first on your local machine, and then upload the whole folder, instead of unzipping on the server. Your server may be running out of space or possibly have some other configuration problem or corruption.

MemberHi aalmon,
I changed the css above to a better answer that I think will work for your site. This is what you are looking for, yes?
A plugin like http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ will help you add css to your site.

MemberHi James!
Welcome to the forums and thanks for reaching out!
We try to keep our threads focused on just one user’s problem. This ensures that we are addressing your specific problem instead of a general group one, and not possibly missing anything unique your situation.
Would you mind opening up a new topic about your issue? If you could please detail in your own words exactly what your problem is (instead of just linking here), that will go a long way towards helping you get this issue resolved as fast as possible. I hope you understand our reasoning here and do not mind this extra step, we have just found it serves our users best.
Thanks a ton!

MemberI would have to look into this more, but unfortunately that level of customization goes beyond the scope of the forums.
I would take a look at the month view templates. I’m not positive, but if you override month/single-event.php you may be able to truncate the title. You might find our docs helpful too. I believe we have a truncate function that might be able to help.
That might be the wrong file, but that is where I would first look.

MemberHi francoye,
Sorry to hear that didn’t fix the problem. If you are using this Espresso theme, I would definitely contact the developer. They advertise supporting our plugin and at the very least they should be able to help you target the problem. I’m pretty sure this is only a small problem with the theme that has to be fixed.
As per the confusing link >> /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=display
I only meant that if you add it on to the end of your site, it would take you directly to the Display tab on the Events Settings page. http://croisieremontreal.ca/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=display
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
