Thanks for your cooperation with the screenshots, 7iber!

I need to play with this in my head to figure out what could be at fault here, but let me recap what is happening to make sure I understand.

You have a recurring event from June 10 – Sept 9. The event is every ‘weekday‘, Sun – Thur, and it is from 11am – 6:30 pm. This is about 91 days long (or 3 months).

Every event appears correctly in the backend.

On the front end, Events from June 10 – August 12 appear just fine, in both list view and single event view.

Starting August 13, the beginning and end dates *shift* from June 10 – Sept 9 to August 13th – November 13th. The duration is still 3 months (but technically 92 days).

This only happens on the *display* of the event, the back end shows the data is still accurate.

Let me know if that is incorrect.

This is confusing, and weird like you say. I’ll be contacting some devs to see if they can make sense of this.

Here are a few things to try in the meantime.

    – Please make sure you have a recent backup of your site before you start! I’m assuming nothing bad will happen, but better to be safe than sorry.
    – Update your plugins to 3.6.1 if you have not already done so.
    – Does the error still happen if you disable all other plugins and switch your theme to a standard like Twentytwelve?
    – In the WP-Admin, at the bottom of the Events > Settings > Help tab, there will be a ‘systems settings’ box. Can you copy that and paste it into a private reply?
    – Do you have other recurring events, that have no problem? Did these events always have this issue? Or did something change?
    – I wonder if this is an error caused or related to translation files of some sort, or maybe a translation plugin? I have no idea on this, just worth mentioning.

Could I get a link to your /events page? I couldn’t find it browsing your site.

I’ll contact my team and ask if they’ve seen this sort of shift before.

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

    Cheers!

If you are using the default events template, I’m not sure why this theme is doing this. I talked with some other devs on the support team, and they’re not sure either. You may have something like this in your theme, if you do a text search for ‘The Blog’

    if ( is_archive() ) {
    echo “The Blog”;
    }

Probably the best work around is removing it (without touching the theme) is with CSS. You may even be able to change the content with JS. Not an elegant solution, but will get the job done.

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

    Hello Chris,

Unfortunately that level of customization goes beyond the scope of the forums.

If you have a moment, we’d love for you to submit your idea to our UserVoice forum. We take user ideas and contributions very seriously, and many times their ideas end up in our future releases.

You can add some additional fields out of the box with the PRO add-on. In the Events Settings > Additional Fields tab, you can add form fields that will display on the Community Events submission form. That will take you a little ways, but not as far as you would like. 🙁

Currently, the WooCommerce Tickets ‘free event’ model is the best supported way for event confirmation.

I hope this helps! Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

    Cheers!

    Hello grahamstacey,

I took about an hour to troubleshoot from different angles. I’m not sure entirely what all happened in this thread; ultimately there were a handful of issues I think.

The data was appearing ‘corrupted’ because it was querying the very first events, not the next upcoming ones. I’m not sure why they were formatted that way, but I believe it is resolved so it shouldn’t matter.

As far as I can tell, the widget is working now. There was a conflict with the ‘Stealth Publish’ plugin, so that is deactivated. Unfortunately we won’t be able to troubleshoot why there is a conflict, as that goes beyond the scope of the forums. For now, if you want the list widget to be accurate you will just have to disable it.

I’m still not certain this will work on the live site, as I’m not sure why it wasn’t in the first place. I did check your theme several times over. It and the template override look good, and are not the problem (from what I can tell).

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

    Cheers!

in reply to: city and province drop downs in event submission? #219362

    Hello minglebuds,

These are some great questions! Unfortunately most of this level of customization goes beyond the scope of the forums.

We don’t currently offer out of the box support for Canadian provinces or any cities, especially in the Community Events plugin, but if you’re interested in developing you’re own solution, the community/modules/venue.php file should be helpful.

There is no way to default to the logged in users name (although that is a very good idea). You can set other defaults in the Events Settings > Default tab. If you have a moment, we’d love for you to submit your idea to our UserVoice forum. We take user ideas and contributions very seriously, and many times their ideas end up in our future releases.

For the venues dropdown, do you mean only venues that you the admin account have created? I’m betting you could filter the venue query, but that is a customization we won’t be able to help with.

The Filter Plugin doesn’t really work with the Community Events plugin. They don’t conflict, there just isn’t any need for integration. Community Events is used for creating events, the Filter Bar is used for viewing them.

Sorry for the unhelpful answers! If there is anything I can help with let me know!

    Cheers!

    Hello Chris,

All events are created equal! An event that was created through the Community Events plugin can have tickets added to it later.

Though, a user submitting an event through the Community Events form, CANNOT add tickets at the time of creation. They (or an admin) must add tickets through the admin.

Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!

    Hello anandawebservices,

Thanks for contacting us. Can you give me more info about the problem?

The list widget changed in 3.6 and here are the details for the change. You may have a template override conflict. https://theeventscalendar.com/the-events-calendarpro-3-6-changes-you-should-be-aware-of/

I’m a bit confused, and could possibly use some more info.

From what I can tell the Upcoming Events widget is not blank.

    Hello Isaac,

To be more specific, if you upgrade from your account’s licenses page you will see an upgrade link. That will give you the correct upgrade price.

Our store has upgraded since that post. The upgrade difference is automatically calculated, and you just pay the that!

    Hello liveroomescape,

Here is a written tutorial on moving the ticket form https://theeventscalendar.com/moving-the-ticket-form/

It does make much more sense to have it at the top if you only have on venue and organizer.

Here is the selector you want I believe.
