ParticipantOkay. I want to help you resolve it. Would you mind answering my questions? Just to be 100% positive, have you tested adding a new while on the 2013 theme, and with all plugins except The Events Calendar & Events Calendar PRO enabled?

ParticipantHello again epikalmedia,
Thank you for sharing the info about Avada. That definitely will help us.
I am glad you found a working theme. In my experience nearly all themes work find with our plugin, it is something we work hard to make compatible. But, I rarely tell people that when they are choosing a theme because inevitably they hit a stroke of bad luck and get two in a row that are not.

ParticipantYou are very very welcome! I left the code running on my site for a few days while running other tests, and never encountered an error. That was very encouraging. Thanks for posting an update.

ParticipantAwesome! I am glad you were able to switch. We will get the other fixed soon, but I doubt you will care as you are now undoubtedly on a better permalink style.
Please open a topic if you have any future questions. Thanks!

ParticipantFor sure. I understand that desire. Unfortunately all the functionality/buttons/fields that goes into editting and adding events would be a bit hard to compress into your usual module sized box. It actually is spread out over a few pages in our default design. So, a shortcode will not really be possible I do not think.
Happy site building. I hope you find a solution!

ParticipantHello again. I am sorry I did not test that out, you are right we do filter out slashes from that particular slug. Looking at our rewrite code it becomes quite apparent that we depend on the slug to not contain slashes.
This customization is still possible, it just won’t be easy like I initially said. đ If you have a knowledge of PHP or Apache mod rewrite, you should be able to do what you need. Using mod rewrite you could replicate the rewrite rules (found here). Obviously you would want these rules to have precedence over the WordPress ones. I believe you would need to add the [L] condition and put them above the WP rules to get it working properly.
Or, you could add or override Tribe rewrites in a plugin of your own, or your theme’s functions.php file. You could essentially copy our rules above but change them around to include your custom directory.
I wish it was easier or required less programming knowledge. But, if you are the programmer sort then the above should be relatively easy. Please let me know if that helps, or if you have further questions. Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for posting back arctander2 and giving us an update. Since you have removed the widget for now it looks like this is resolved. However, if you do ever want to add it back please give us a working link to a page with that widget, that way we can see it in our browser. Then one of us can inspect the CSS and give you guidance on how to fix it, maybe even a snippet of code that fixes it for you.
Thanks again. I am glad you got it resolved. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Amanda,
That is incredibly strange that the Events Search bar does not work. We have tested the plugin on countless servers, and seen it working on thousands more. But, I am unable to find any record of an issue like this.
You will notice that the URL starts adding even more erroneous bits when you start clicking other things (not just changing views). For instance clicking May >> after changing to Month views generates the following:
http://wp.familyarena.com/events/2014-05/?tribe-bar-date=2014-05&tribe_cost=0-158.19?tribe-bar-date=2014-05&tribe_cost=0-158.19While the tribe-bar-date is at times adding by our plugin, it is never added twice in any install I have seen except yours. So, you have something very unique going on.
Usually the most unique thing about a person’s install is their plugins & theme combination. Just about literally 99% of the time one or both of those is the root cause for an issue like this; so I am surprised that the issue persists in 2013 with only The Events Calendar disabled. Would you mind trying that one more time, but also disabling the Events Filterbar as well. It might be possible that one of our plugins did not download properly, and is this corrupted.
Could you also grab your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the âSet as private replyâ checkbox to protect your private information from the public. You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the âHelpâ tab, and scrolling down to the âSystem Informationâ box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help) That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you for the additional info. Your description of the calendar popup not working is particularly helpful. When you go to to edit or add an event and try to change the date that calendar should still be popping up. I bet if you open up your browser console on the edit/add pages, you will see JavaScript errors.
JavaScript errors can basically be attributed to one of four things:
- Your theme’s JavaScript  is conflicting with The Events Calendar. But this now seems unlikely.
- One of your plugin’s JavaScripts is conflicting with The Events Calendar .
- Sometimes it is a combination of one of your plugins, your theme, and The Events Calendar.
- One of your plugins or your WordPress install has become corrupted.
#3 is rare, and #4 is far more rare. To make sure that it is not 1-3, please do disable all of your plugins except  The Events Calendar, and switch to the 2014 theme. Now when you edit or add an event, does the calendar show up? Does recurring events work properly now for new events that you created with plugins and such disabled?
Please let me know! I think that we have isolated this issue and are near to finding the culprit, and thus possibly also near to a solution.

ParticipantNice work Sven! That is a clever work around. I am very happy you got it working. Please let us know if you have any further questions. We try to keep separate issues to separate topics as we have found that gets folks the fastest answers, so please open a new topic if you need anything else. Cheers!
