    Howdy Terry,

    I hope we can help you find a solution too.

    I have not seen any error like this before. In order to diagnose it the quickest I am going to request a lot of information from you, I hope you do not mind.

    First, could you try creating a new test event for 10am tomorrow, and set it to recur (perhaps daily and end after 3 occurences)? With this new event, are you observing a time shift? If you are still seeing the timeshift please follow our standard debugging procedures before continuing, they are very helpful in helping to isolate the probelm and thus proceed towards a solution:

    Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, and seeing if the issue persists.

    If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?

    If the issue persists in the default Twenty Thirteen theme, then we have a different set of debugging steps. Please keep the Twenty Thirteen theme enabled, and also disable any plugins other than the ones from Modern Tribe to see if that fixes it. If it does, please try reenabling the plugins one at a time until the issue resurfaces. When it does resurface, can you let me know which plugin caused that to happen?

    What is your timezone set to in WP Admin > Settings > General? What happens if you change it temporarily, and create a new event again. Still the same problem?

    Finally, would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the ‘Set as private reply’ checkbox to protect your private information from the public. You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the “Help” tab, and scrolling down to the ‘System Information’ box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help) That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.

    Thank you! Any other information you can provide that you think might be relevant would be quite helpful. Let me know if I can be of any assistance along the way. Cheers!

    Howdy Hammer,

    There is a community events shortcode, but it does not sound like it will do what you want. The edit my events pages does not appear inside the shortcode, it appears as a child page. It is kind of hard to explain.

    Could you possible just add two links inside of a module? One to submit an event, and another to manage the users currents events? Would that work?

    Howdy kleen7777,

    Well that is no good. Could you please elaborate a bit? What is not working? When a customer clicks Add to Cart, does it not add the ticket to the cart? Do they make it all the way through the checkout process but they don’t get billed? Are you not able to add tickets from the Admin area? Please be as specific as you can, that will really help clarify. Thanks!

    Howdy humanesocietytampabay,

    There is not an addon that I am familiar with, but it should be very very easy to import them. Here is a CSV file containg all american holidays. You could simply import it. Likely you want these to show up as all day event. You could first import it into Excel or Google Docs and add an extra column filled with “true” values to indicate that it is an all day event. You could also add any extra details there.

    I could see other people wanting this same thing, for sure. If you purchase one of our plugins let me know and I would glad to generate an easy to use CSV file that you could directly import. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!

    Howdy epikalmedia,

    Here is a simple and thus very fast responsive theme that we have found to be quite compatible: https://wordpress.org/themes/responsive

    Also, theme forest has a nice list of themes whose authors have said are compatible with our plugin. While we can not guarantee compatibility, the authors evidently do. So if for some reason an issue did arise the author is saying they will fix it:

    Just a note, as reliable rule of thumb if a theme is compatible with Core it is likely also compatible with PRO. I do not recall ever seeing one that was solely compatible with Core.

    Will one of those work do you think? Please let us know. It is always good to know what themes users are choosing. Avada is a popular one for sure, and we have reached out to the theme author to see if we can both work towards compatibility. Thanks for posting!

    Howdy localsocial,

    Absolutely that is possible. If you go to WP Admin > Events > Settings, right there on the general tab you will see the box “Events URL slug”. You can change this to any other URL so that it fits your site structure. You might also change the box underneath. Once you are happy click Save Changes. Did that do what you wanted? Please let me know. Cheers!

    Howdy lorrainebow,

    This is definitely possible! To do this you are going to need to be familiar with CSS layouts though. Using CSS floats is probably the best way to get those two columns going. Our themer’s guide walks you through how you can add custom HTML and CSS  to the Events Template.

    If you are unable to make that modification and do not know someone whom you can hire, have no fear. We actually keep a list of freelancers who are quite capable of making changes on your behalf. You can obtain this list by emailing [email protected] and requesting it. Some of those on our list even cater exclusively towards smaller jobs like yours.

    Does that all make sense? I definitely want to help you as much as possible. But, as we outline in our scope of support on various areas on this site, support includes assistance with bug fixes and guidance on how to perform modifications. It is up to you or someone you hire to actually make the modifications yourself.

    Please let me know if my advice helped. Cheers!

    Howdy morgana,

    That is strange! Fortunately it will likely be easy to fix. Here are the steps:

    1. <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>Go here and click Download: http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/ You will get a zip file that you could put somewhere on your computer temporarily.
      </span>
    2. Now go to your site’s WP Admin, thenc click on Plugins, then click Add New. Near the top of this page you will see a link called “Upload”. Click that. Now use the upload form to find the zip you just downloaded. Once found, upload it and it will install/update. This might take a bit, but it will let you know when it is done.

    You should be on the latest version now!

    Does those steps make sense? Did that resolve the error? Please let me know. Cheers!

    Howdy familyarena,

    The website actually does appear for me since you input it in the form. We do not display the URL publicly (where non admins like you can see it) simply to protect the privacy of our users, since some do not want their URL to be known publicly. But thank you for providing the URL, it helps clarify!

    I am seeing that error. When I switch from Month view to List view the following URL is generated: http://wp.familyarena.com/events/upcoming/?tribe_cost=0-158.19

    If we remove the bold portion of the URL it works as expected. It could be that your theme, or perhaps another plugin your are running is conflicting here. Would you mind testing? Do this by temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, and seeing if the issue persists.

    If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?

    What is the result of those tests? Please let me know. Thanks!

    Howdy rogerswd,

    We are working on free form recurrences. This basically does duplicate a given event to any other date you select by creating a recurrence. You could then split that event out using the “Break event from series” button if you do not want it be part of the series of recurrences.

    Even now you could create a copy of an event by creating a recurrence. Maybe set the recurrence to daily and end after 2 events have occured. Then, click on tomorrows recurrence to edit it, only break it from the recurring series. You now have two identical unattached events, and you can then modify the time and any other options to the correct values for your new duplicate.

    It’s a bit complicated to explain, but actually fairly easy to do. Did that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know. Cheers!

    Howdy jameslowey,

    We can all agree that our documentation needs improvement. It is something we are actively improving, and simultaneously developing a better platform for it. If you do ever have specific areas like this where you think we can improve the documentation on our site, or even our inline documentation in our code, please let us know. We welcome all feedback!

    The documentation for this is mostly inline. If you open  up that file, notice the comments at the top. This part in particular should help:

    * This file is being included in events/lib/tickets/tribe-tickets.php
    * in the function generate_tickets_email_content. That function has a $tickets
    * array with elements that have this fields:
    * $tickets[] = array( ‘event_id’,
    * ‘ticket_name’
    * ‘holder_name’
    * ‘order_id’
    * ‘ticket_id’
    * ‘security_code’)

    Then if you scroll down you will see an example use of the $tickets variable.

    Does that make sense? Any feedback or other questions? Please let me know. Cheers!

    Howdy dchaney,

    Sadly we currently have a bug in our plugin that does this when permalinks is set to default. It’s embarrassing 🙁 and something we are fixing ASAP. In the mean time, can you try switching to anything but default? In addition to being fully compatible with our plugin, the other styles have tons of advantages including improved SEO for many folks.

    Howdy serhan,

    That is a very good idea. In fact it is one of our most requested features.

    We have actually already started work on this feature. Even beginning in the last release, version 3.5, we started laying the ground work to make this change possible by changing lots of stuff behind the scenes related to how recurring events work. That said I can not yet give you an ETA for when this functionality will be done.

    Does that all make sense? Hopefully your client will be happy to know that we are working on it and the plugin will soon include that functionality at no extra cost!

    Howdy snieder,

    Good question. Are you running a multi-language plugin? Sadly our plugin is not fully compatible with some of those. So, I have to double check. I know a few user have gotten it to work with WPML, but that has proven to be a rocky road.

    If you are currently happy with the wront end and WP Admin language of your site, and only TEC is is the wrong language on the front or back end, I think there is an easy fix. You could hook into the gettext filter, detect if this is an admin page or not, then return the translation from a the desired language domain. This snippet would be a good starting point. It hooks into the same filter, only it overrides text manually instead of importing from a different languages language file.

    Unfortunately that last paragraph is going to sound like Greek to anyone not versed in the WP API. If you are unable to make that modification and do not know someone whom you can hire, have no fear. We actually keep a list of freelancers who are quite capable of making changes on your behalf. You can obtain this list by emailing [email protected] and requesting it.

    Does that make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know. Cheers!

    in reply to: Sticky in Week View? #144440

    Howdy Lars!

    Here is our official explanation:

    Calendar View: Calendar View shows all events in a selected month. Three events are displayed per day, and any additional events can be seen by clicking View All on that day, or clicking the date itself. You can choose which three events are shown on the calendar by checking the Make Sticky in Calendar View option on the event page. Past dates and events are shown faded, with current and upcoming events in bold. Mousing over an event will show the event’s title, date, time, excerpt, and featured image.

    As you can see it is intended for Month View. However, if you were so inclined you certainly could adapt that setting to apply to Week View. You could detect the setting and then apply your custom logic from there; maybe you could render it as an all day event so that it appears up top always. Definitely require a good bit of programming, but doable if you are so inclined.

    I hope that helps clarify things. Please let me know if not. Cheers!
