ParticipantWhen trying to import events from the open Facebook group with ID 176574282398711, it says “Vetenskap och Folkbildning Skåne [=the name of the group] does not have any Facebook events”. But it definitely does. See for yourself: https://www.facebook.com/groups/176574282398711
Why can’t Facebook Events import these events?

ParticipantHowdy vetenskapochfolkbildning,
Thank you for your patience! I am very sorry about the delay. We are actually hiring some new folks to help out in the forums, and doing everything we can to ensure timely responses.
So that error message might be a bit misleading. What it is saying is that there are no upcoming events. By default out plugin only imports upcomign events for a given group. You can hook into the WP Filter ‘tribe_fb_import_since’ and change it. The default value is
date( 'Y-m-d' ), so if you were to say pass itstrtotime( '2000-01-01' )instead you would be importing all events since the year 2000.Does that make sense? Will that work for you? If you need some assistance with WP Filters please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook!
The events in question are scheduled for May and June 2014, so they are definitely future and upcoming events (bummer). The event scheduled for May 21 has ID 221983167995076, and the event scheduled for June 18 has ID 1474291219450126. When I, as a test, try to import them based on their ID instead (gotten from their URLs), I only get error messages.
Btw, do you need to be an admin of the open group you’re trying to import events from? I am an admin in the group, I’m just wondering if it’s a necessity.

ParticipantHowdy vetenskapochfolkbildning,
Fortunately you should not need administrative access in Facebook to import events.
When I go to that groups events page I see no upcoming events: https://www.facebook.com/groups/skeplund/events/
Can you show me some upcoming events that are in the group? Much appreciated. Thanks!

ParticipantThat’s very strange. When I check the “Events” tab in that group, I see two upcoming events:
https://www.facebook.com/events/221983167995076/
and
https://www.facebook.com/events/1474291219450126/April 18, 2014 at 6:27 am #136108Brook
ParticipantWe might have figured out the problem. When I click on those two links you provided I am forwarded to the Facebook home page. That is a pretty good sign that I do not have access to see them. Are those events public? There will need to be in order for me and the Facebook importer to see them.
I think we are narrowing this down. Hopefully that will be the solution!

ParticipantAah, ok, the group is public but the events themselves can apparently be restricted to only group members. I’ll check with the creator of the events which settings he has made (most likely this is where the problem lies, yes). I’ll get back to you with an update as soon as he responds.
Thanks for the help so far!

ParticipantOk, there are no new upcoming events to be scheduled now for a while, so I haven’t tried to see if this one solved the problem. But most likely it did. If I encounter any new problems, or if this problem endures, I’ll get back to you. Thanks!
