ParticipantHowdy Matthew,
I would love to help you with this. Could you provide a link to the page where the fields are stretched? Without being able to see it in my browser there is not much I can do, but if I can see I can probably provide you the exact CSS you will need to change the field width. From there you can just copy the CSS and paste it into any of your theme’s CSS files.
Does that sound like a good plan?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Harmony,
Sorry for the confusion. I would love to help you with this.
The missing step here is to visit your website on your phone or tablet and login with your account. Now you’re ready to scan. Go to your QR app, scan the code, and the code will take you back to your web browser. Only now that you’re logged in, instead of taking you to the event page it will take you to the backend page where you can check people in.
Did that work?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy John,
I would love to help you with this. I couldn’t anyone of us who have used Live Calendar to give you first hand experience, however if Live Calendar can export an .ics or iCal file then the answer is: Yes! Using the iCal Importer you can easily import your existing calendar into The Events Calendar.
Does that sound like it would work?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Bernd,
A few people were seeing the renamed directories. I believe the errors you are experiencing are related to that, as the functions the error references are trying to read files.
This is a bug we are working to fix. We are going to do an unexpected hotfix release here soon, 4.1.1, to correct this. Please stay tuned for that, and once released it should fix the update problems folks like you are experiencing.
I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. If I can be of any help in the mean time please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantHmm that’s very interesting. Thanks for getting back.
I wonder if it could be related to the Page Template. If you go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Display you will see a drop down to select which page template you are using. Could you try a different one, hit apply, and see if that corrects this? If not, coudl you try applying each template in that drop down one at a time and see if any of them work?

ParticipantHowdy Steffen,
Sorry for the delay, we’ve been a bit swamped. I am the gent doing the coding on this snippet and I just through the finishing touches on it.
https://gist.github.com/elimn/ae3e234aecf46753618b
If you paste that at the top of your theme’s functions.php file, underneath the first line “<?php”, it will automatically adjust the canonical link for recurring events pointing them to the /all/ page. It will do this even without Yoast activated.
Does that work for you? Thanks again for the suggestion, adjusting this link is a great idea in our book.
Edit: For some reason the link to my snippet isn’t working right. If you go to: gist [dot] github [dot] com/elimn/ae3e234aecf46753618b in your browser that should show you the snippet.

ParticipantWelcome back Brandy,
Thanks for your understanding and purchasing a license!
I spent some time looking through your site and was finally able to find the source of the missing details. The event date is actually there, but it’s white! Which is the same color as the background. Changing the color is as simple as adding this CSS to your website:
.tribe-events-event-meta .author { color: #351101; }If you already know how to add CSS to to your site, then just add that line to any of your theme’s CSS files. If you’re not familiar with this, you might try downloading a plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ That makes it very easy to add, just copy/paste the code into that plugin and hit save.
Does that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantSo the other issue was definitely unrelated. I was hoping to avoid a full conflict test if possible but I am truly stumped on this, and it’s the logical next step. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict not only with the theme, but also the plugins. The guide does specifically mention to try switching themes and turning plugins off at the same time, which I think will be key here. Would you mind switching to Twenty Fourteen this time if it’s available on your site?
Thank you Leah! I know that can be a bit of a pain, but at this point it’s quite necessary. Let me know fi you have any questions, if not I’ll wait to hear from you.

ParticipantHowdy Nathan,
Sorry I missed your last response! Your system information did reveal something interesting, it contains no events slug. That is extremely odd, but probably easy to correct.
- If you go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings and scroll down to the field “Events URL slug”, what do you see? Is it blank?
- If so, can you set it to “events” and the field beneath it to “event” which are the defaults.
- Scroll down and hit Save.
- Now in your WP Admin toolbar hover over Events then click View Calendar. Does the calendar appear now?
Cheers!

ParticipantWe found the cause! Thanks you guys for all your help. This is set to be fixed in our very next release, 4.1.1. We recently switch to scheduling a “maintenance release” like that every 2 weeks. So in about 2 weeks this will be patched. If you need to correct this sooner I recommend downgrading to 4.0.6 (Tutorial: Downgrading a plugin ).
Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
