The error Messages for the community plugin:
Warning: fopen(/www/htdocs/wXXXXX/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/tribe-community-events.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/wXXXXX/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4463Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /www/htdocs/wXXXXXX/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4466

Event though all those messages were accompanied by the message that the acutalisation has been completed, the Event calendar functionality on my site crashed as soon as I tried to click for a calendar view.in the plugin Directory I discovered two new subdirs with strange names:
a) theeventscalendar.compu_request_pluginevents-calendar-proversion4.1pu_get_download1pue_active_version4.0-outbx9
b) theeventscalendar.compu_request_pluginevents-communityversion4.1pu_get_download1pue_active_version4.0-NfVijDI deleted those and made a complete rollback to earlier versions of all 3 plugins.
I hope those details are useful for your research on that issue.
regards,
Bernd-

ParticipantHowdy Bernd,
A few people were seeing the renamed directories. I believe the errors you are experiencing are related to that, as the functions the error references are trying to read files.
This is a bug we are working to fix. We are going to do an unexpected hotfix release here soon, 4.1.1, to correct this. Please stay tuned for that, and once released it should fix the update problems folks like you are experiencing.
I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. If I can be of any help in the mean time please let me know.
Cheers!
