MemberHi!
The template structure has changed significantly as of the 3.0 release – so the best place to start is our updated Themer’s Guide which will give you an overview of the new template files.
You will almost certainly need to spend some time familiarizing yourself with this – but we do hope the result is a cleaner, more flexible templating experience.

MemberHi Marcus,
I believe Neill may be out today due to a public holiday in the United States, but bear with us and we’ll pick this up again as soon as we can.
Thanks for your patience!
Barry
MemberHi Timothy,
In the first instance can you visit Settings > Permalinks – you don’t need to change anything, simply visiting this page flushes the permalink rules – and see if that resolves this?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Timothy, are you referring to the “filter bar”?

MemberHi Christina,
Sorry for the problems – I think you’re already monitoring another thread where there is a discussion of this problem so I won’t repeat the current status of our investigation into Canvas here 🙂
I would however take issue with your assertion that we’ve been sloppy here – as a huge amount of preparatory work and testing went into this release including an extensive beta testing phase where real users put the plugin through its paces. Even so, it just isn’t possible to catch everything and, popular as Canvas may be (and we did in fact test against a number of products by WooThemes), it is just one of many popular themes with numerous different versions in circulation. In fact, based on some testing following Rob’s request for support here we may not even have caught it supposing we did test explicitly against Canvas.
That said we are working to fix this and if you can provide any additional information (per my notes to Rob in this thread) then that would definitely be appreciated.
I don’t know if this has to do with anything, but the main plugin won’t hold onto our pro license.
That’s strange. You noted when you opened the thread that you were using the following versions of our plugins:
“3.0 main plugin, 2.0.11 pro plugin”
That will not mesh well, they both need to be in synch – so please update the PRO plugin to the latest version before continuing (as that is likely to cause problems with our update/licensing engine).
Thanks!
Barry
MemberThey disappear everywhere? Or do they initially appear but you experience problems when you move backwards/forwards a month (for example)?
Barry
MemberDo you mean within the tooltips you see when you hover over an event? If so, by default The Events Calendar tries to use a 90x90px version of the featured image here.
Barry
MemberYou could modify the organizer (or any other) post type after it is registered, using the registered_post_type hook – although it’s beyond the scope of support to walk through that if you were to make a feature request (for organizer and venue slugs to be made editable) we would definitely consider it.
You can add feature requests here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
Aside of that, when I update a Local/Organizer I get a link to View Local/Organizer, but when I click the link I get a 404 error. Is that a known bug?
Nope … I’m not sure why you are experiencing that. Can you visit Settings > Permalinks (you don’t need to adjust anything – simply visiting that page should refresh permalinks) and then see if those pages are accessible?
If they are not, though I note you marked down that you had already tried this, can you try the following steps (or if you have done them already let me know what the outcome was):
* Deactivate all non-Modern Tribe plugins
* Make sure your Modern Tribe plugins are up to date and in-synch (if you are using The Events Calendar 3.0.1 then you should use Events Calendar PRO 3.0, for example)
* Switch to a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve)
* Does the problem persist?
* If it does not please reactivate everything one-at-a-time
* Should the problem return, please note down the last plugin you activated before it came backThanks!
Barry
MemberHi all – can I ask you to conduct a further piece of troubleshooting:
* Leave Canvas activated
* Deactivate all plugins except for The Events Calendar
* Check if that solves the problem
* If it does, reactivate everything one at a time, testing at each stage to see if the problem has returned
* If the problem does return, note down the last plugin you reactivatedAlthough it seems like this relates strongly to Canvas (since reverting to Twenty Twelve would seem to fix this) I just want to make sure nothing else is impacting – as on an other wise “plain vanilla” installation with just our plugins and Canvas I am unable to replicate the problem.
Thanks for your help, patience and cooperation!
Barry
MemberThank you Rob – much appreciated. With the same settings in place however I still do not see this problem – I can load the main events page without any issue and the pagination works as expected.
So, the issue would seem to lie somewhere else. What I’m going to do at this point is involve a member of the development team. Please bear with us, however, as due to public holidays in the United States – where many of the team are based – there may be a short delay.
Barry
MemberOf course: as per the other thread the development team are already involved and will look into creating a fix. As soon as that has been accomplished I will update you guys.

MemberAbsolutely. Since it is sounding as if Chrome is the common link here I have put the information to our developers and they will of course see if they can fix it.
Thanks for your patience – I will update you as soon as I can.
Barry
MemberExcellent feedback – thanks craigkirby.
We’d definitely be interested in collating a list of browsers where problems are experienced: if this is indeed browser specific we’ll certainly do our best to nail it across the board.
Barry
MemberI’m afraid not.
As per my last reply to Rob (above) I can’t actually replicate the problem with Canvas and so need further information to continue with the troubleshooting process.
Thanks!
