MemberTo address those errors can you try the suggestion made here?
If that doesn’t solve the primary problem (an inability to edit them, which sounds to me like a separate problem) can you try deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme and see if that helps?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberThe fix ought to be included in the next maintenance release – we push out releases on a monthly basis where possible – but perhaps we can help you implement the fix in the meantime … can you share your modified theme functions.php file with us (perhaps using Pastebin, Gist, Droplr or a similar service)?
Is it possible you included the opening <?php tag and can you try removing it if so?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberIn the first instance, do you see any options in the Events > Settings screens to regenerate venue geolocation data? Can you also confirm if the problem persists with no other plugins running and only a default, unmodified theme?
Last but not least can you share your System Information as provided on the Events > Help admin screen?
Thanks!

MemberHi Antonio, can you give an indication of how many events are on your system and approximately how many might be recurring?
Are you also able to use caching, including query caching at MySQL level, to help mitigate this?

MemberOK, how odd. Can you share your wp-config.php (perhaps by linking to it on Pastebin/Droplr etc, sharing it as a private reply) just so we can check that the code you added is all in order?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberOK. I think for this one it sounds like there may be particular issues within the context of your hosting environment and there may not be much we can do to help, regrettably.
Can you provide any information about the sort of hosting you are using?
Barry
MemberEvents are a custom post type, yes – and that seems like a good search to start with ๐
Since we’re outside of what we can help with though and it looks like you’ve at least got an avenue you can explore I shall go ahead and close this thread.
Thanks again!
Barry
MemberYes indeed, I misread (re PRO versus the core plugin) but pretty much as Denise says ๐
Good luck!
Barry
MemberI see – well this is really the domain of custom development, it’s not something that is “natively” supported by our plugin. One approach though could be to embed our Events List widget in your page, either by using a specific-to-this-purpose sidebar region or by using WordPress’s the_widget() function to embed it outside of a sidebar.
Does that help at all?
November 20, 2013 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Any news on a fix for the categories with no events bug? #77740Barry
MemberSince I think we’ve all got workarounds for the main issue and your suggestion has been logged (morktron) I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Of course if there is anything else we can help with please don’t hesitate to create new threads as required.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberCan you try deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve – does that resolve this? Can you also share your System Information as provided in the Events > Help admin screen?
Thanks!

MemberApologies because I inadvertently seem to have linked to the same Pastebin code as Antonio suggested in my last reply. I’ve updated that now and what I intended to link to was actually http://d.pr/f/eh0I (important, because that should also solve the other fatal error you cited, too).
โNo matching events listed under category. Check out upcoming events for this category or view the full calendarโ
but if there are no upcoming events for the category then it there is no logic in suggesting checking out upcoming events for that category.
Great point – we’ll get that on the issue tracker ๐
Barry
MemberHi loakine,
I’m sure that’s possible but it’s not unfortunately the sort of customization or integration we can help with – it’s very much something you or a developer working on your behalf would need to implement.
Barry
MemberExcellent: thanks for posting back with the solution ๐

MemberHi modernette,
I appreciate you taking the time to try deactivating all other plugins and revert to a default, unmodified theme: can you confirm what the outcome of that test was – did those steps impact on this issue in any way?
If you could you also post your System Information as found in the Events > Help admin screen that would be great.
Thanks!
