MemberHi Sean,
You’re correctly calling exit() after your wp_safe_redirect() call in the second clause (which is “listening” for event updates), but not in the first – but you need to ensure you exit after both.
I hope that helps (and will go ahead and close this thread outย – as we’re really in custom development territory here) ๐

MemberHi gsparks,
Safari and some other browsers (possibly due to a setting or due to a browser extension) occasionally take it upon themselves to automatically extract downloaded zip files.
If that’s the case here – and I suspect it might be – you’ve got a couple of choices:
- Zip them back up! On most systems this can be done with a few mouse clicks
- Use a different browser that doesn’t behave this way
Does that help?
September 16, 2014 at 1:51 pm in reply to: Recurring Events Not Working – After"testing for Conflicts" my widgets erased #746965Barry
MemberHi joshuah,
I’m sorry that following those steps has resulted in difficulties. Making a backup is a valuable precaution to take before making any sweeping changes to your site (such as mass deactivating plugins) and we’ve updated our Testing for Conflicts page to make that as clear as possible.
I’m guessing that in this case you didn’t make a backup – but it could be worth checking in with your web host (sometimes they make automated backups) or even with your designer/developer if you use the services of such a person or business to help manage your site.
Unfortunately there’s not a lot we can do to help in terms of reconfiguring your widgets, etc, but we’d certainly be happy to assist with the initial problem. Can you link me to one of the events you tried to set as a recurring event and perhaps share a screenshot of the recurrence settings?
Though you can’t upload screenshots directly to the forum you are welcome to drop a link in to any images hosted on a service like Droplr or Dropbox (or of course you could upload them to your WordPress site).
Thanks!

MemberHi!
Our events menu item is created automatically by WordPress, as a result of our events custom post type being registered (which might be why you couldn’t find specific code for this).
There are a number of interesting plugins available that could be worth exploring (I don’t have any particular recommendations to make but you might find something that meets your needs):
wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=admin+menu
Does that help?
September 16, 2014 at 11:15 am in reply to: Tickets for "Pay at the Door" customers not appearing on attendee list #746640Barry
MemberHi – that’s an interesting situation.
The current design is such that attendees are only listed once tickets have been generated (so, ordinarily, that ties in with when an order is completed).
I’m not sure I can assist with the current dollar amount – though do feel free to post a feature request if you feel that may be useful to others – but to work around the first issue it might be you can complete the orders (thus generating tickets and populating the attendee list) then move the order status back to on hold.
Would that work here?
Barry
MemberOK. It certainly shouldn’t behave in this way, especially if your date/time settings are correct.
What we’ve found occasionally though is that other plugins take it upon themselves to alter the timezone settings and thus throw things out of whack. With that in mind, would you be able to run through our standard troubleshooting steps and see if you can locate any conflicts?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberAh, ok. It looks like a Javascript type error is tripping things up.
In the first instance can you disable caching/minification? I’ve got a suspicion that’s at the seat of this. If that doesn’t work though it would be great if you could run through our standard troubleshooting steps in their entirety.
Thanks – and let me know how you get on ๐
Barry
MemberNo problem at all, I can definitely relate to that sort of experience ๐
I’m glad in any case it’s all working and will go ahead and close this thread, but if we can assist with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads and one of the team will be only too happy to help.
Also, if you have a moment to spare, we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar over on our plugin review page – thanks again!
Barry
MemberHave you by any chance created a page also called Events (or with a post slug of events)?
There are a few signs that make me thing WordPress is actually loading a (blank) page of that name in this case.
If so can you try deleting it, and/or flush permalinks by visiting the Settings > Permalinks screen? You don’t actually need to change any settings, just visiting that screen will cause a flush to take place.
If I actually navigate directly to month view though (yoursite.com/events/month) it works as expected so far as I can tell and though there is nothing scheduled this month if I page back to August I see some events.
Barry
MemberI’m sorry your designer is unable to assist.
There’s always a risk and though the odds are everything will be fine we would always recommend making a backup – and, ofย course, understanding the process for restoring that backup.
There are a wide range of plugins that can help with this process. I don’t have any specific recommendations but you can see some of the possibilities here:
wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=backup
Other than that, an alternative is to create a test site so your live site isn’t impacted at all. This can be as easy as creating a fresh WordPress installation in a sub-directory (then add only our plugins initially and see if everything works as expected) – many hosts make this almost a one-click process, so that could be worth considering, too ๐
