MemberI’m sorry to hear that, Bryan. It’s great feedback though and an area where we can certainly improve in future and I’m glad to hear you were able to resolve things in the end.
However, creating any new Recurring entries with this Time Zone as βNew Yorkβ we would still have the Daylight Savings time issue.
This does not match my own experience with new events. If I use a geographic timezone such as America/New York instead of a UTC or GMT offset, the time does not deviate plus or minus an hour when it crossed the daylight savings time boundary … I just wanted to flag this in case we’re actually seeing different things, in which case we’d be happy to investigate further.

MemberHi JonΓ‘s,
Thanks for contacting us: I’m sorry to hear you have experienced difficulties. I want to be sure I’m understanding the problem correctly in the first instance. To start with, it sounds like:
- You are using WPML to switch between two languages
- You are generating recurring events
- You have created at least one additional field via Events Calendar PRO for your events (can you confirm if this is a text field or a URL field?)
Is that correct? Distilling things down a little further from there, to replicate the problem I would:
- Create a recurring event in my main language
- Populate the additional field with some text
- Translate the event into my second language and update/populate the additional field in the translated event, too
With the above steps completed, everything seems to be in order. Can you confirm which set of events were deleted — can you also confirm you performed all the setup steps described here and that when you translated your events you followed the steps noted here?
One final thing I might suggest is using the versions of our plugins noted here. WPML and our own plugins are constantly evolving and, though not ideal, sometimes best results can be obtained by using slightly older versions.
Thanks! I’m keen to ensure I’m following your steps accurately, hence seeking clarification initially.

MemberI can’t make any promises, but we can certainly try to circle back and see if we can provide more detailed instructions at some point — let me know if you’d like us to do that (I realize this is urgent for you, though, so perhaps that won’t be viable).
Please remember however that in general, and particularly when we’re under very high load, we cannot assist with custom coding tasks beyond pointing you in the right direction where possible.
Remember also you can reach out a suitable designer/developer for further assistance in cases like this one:

MemberHi Lars,
Though we’re a bit limited in terms of how much support we can provide for custom coding questions like this one, I can tell you that this is certainly possible!
The above topic gives some high level hints about how to do this, though you may need to fill in a few blanks to meet your specific needs.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

MemberHi Bryan,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve hit up against difficulties.
We did have a known bug that resulted in this sort of pattern which I thought we had quashed a few releases back. I’m curious though, as I can’t seem to replicate the same thing locally and can’t actually identify the problem when I look at your site: are you still experiencing this and is there a live example I can look at?
If I locate the same March 11 event on your site as the one I think you screengrabbed, the tooltip shows that it starts at 10.45am as expected.
If you somehow fixed this but the core problem is still valid, can you provide some step-by-step instructions to help us replicate the problem?
Thanks so much!

MemberHi there B Ingram,
Sorry to hear you’ve hit up against difficulties!
Your theme (“Church Event”) seems to contain a number of custom templates for event views. I’m unsure if those customizations shipped as part of the theme, or if you or a developer working on your behalf added them, or some combination of those – but what you are seeing is not typical of the default single event view.
If you made these customizations yourself or with the help of a developer you hired, can you temporarily disable them (as a way of determining if it is the custom templates that are at fault, then fixing them if so) or else can you reach out to the theme author/support team for assistance?
It seems likely that the issues stem from the custom templates that are currently in place, so assessing those and working with their creator feels like a great first step here :-)\
Let me know how you get on!

MemberRiley: after some further research, this does seem to be a known and existing bug. I’ve linked this conversation to the report on our internal bug tracker and we’ll do our best to update you by posting in here once a fix has been released.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

MemberThis is … odd.
I’m not sure why this is impacting you especially, but I’m going to work with those team members who manage the experience here on theeventscalendar.com to find out π
Please do bear with me a little longer (we’re actually just getting back up to full speed following a period of low availability for many team members, so this might realistically take a few days or more).

MemberHi Lawrence,
That’s a great question.
The cart functionality itself is handled by the ecommerce plugin (in this case, WooCommerce) and we don’t actually interfere in that process. With that in mind, it may be best to approach the WooCommerce support team to learn about the current best practices for clearing old items from the cart.
http://www.sitepoint.com/woocommerce-actions-and-filters-manipulate-cart
Searching the wider internet, there do seem to be solid resources like the above tutorial on programmatically controlling the cart, which could be a good resource if you want to roll your own solution here.
I wish we could help further on this one and would love to know what you ultimately come up with, but unless there are settings I am completely unaware of this is both custom coding territory and really relates to WooCommerce’s own functionality rather than that of Event Tickets Plus.

MemberHi Riley,
A rather odd thing is that the datepicker script and the calendar script seem not to be loading in the expected order.
As you noted you are on a staging server, I wonder if you could temporarily take things there back to a basic state where there is only our plugin and Events Calendar PRO running along with a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Seventeen and then drop us a note so we can review the problem while the site is in that simpler, stripped down state.
If we can see the problem under those conditions, that might help us to draw the parallels we need to move this problem forward and get you some solid answers π
Thanks! – let me know if that’s possible!
Barry
MemberYou’re welcome π
I’ll leave this open for the time being in case you have any follow-up questions on this (though it’s appreciated if – for separate/unrelated problems – you can create a fresh topic, just to keep things clean and organized).
Thanks again for bearing with us!
