MemberHi Corrado,
While our support policy prohibits us from logging in to the administrative areas of customer websites, I think I can see the same problem but I’d like to clarify it is the same as you are experiencing.
I don’t however think it is a problem with Advanced Post Manager as such – rather it’s looking to me like a problem with The Events Calendar (and for instance ordering by title seems to not work as expected with only that plugin running).
Nonetheless it clearly is a problem and I’ve logged a new bug report so we can investigate further and hopefully get a fix in place in the near term.

MemberThanks for updating and I’m glad that solved the original issue š
OK so it works however it does not work with users with āsellersā status via Donken.
I’m not quite sure what you mean: if this is a separate problem it is probably best to create a new support topic in any case – and be sure to provide a little more detail on the nature of the problem and where we should look to see it.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberAwesome.
At this point I will go ahead and close this topic, but of course should either of you hit further difficulties with this or anything else please don’t hesitate to create a new one – one of the team will be only too happy to help š
Barry
MemberThat’s awesome – thanks to Eric Murrell, in that case, and also to yourself for reporting back with the fix: from experience, there seems to be a lot of users who also have Series Engine installed and I’m sure this will help them, too š
I’ll go ahead and close out this topic – of course, should anything else crop up, please just create a new support topic and one of the team will be only too happy to assist š
Barry
MemberFantastic, thank you Andrew.

MemberHi Rob,
Thanks for contacting us and I’m sorry it hasn’t been the smoothest experience so far.
On selecting the file, it doesnāt actually appear in the Media Library but itās info shows in the āAttachment Detailsā pane at the side of where it should be; next time I try it, the file shows in the Library.
This is somewhat odd – it shouldn’t really be added to the media library at all – and I’ve logged a report so we can consider revising this. For now though let’s focus on the main issue you reported.
After choosing the file and selecting search I can see the event (although sometimes it doesnāt find anything despite being the same file!?).
If I check it and choose āImport Selectedā the Import: ICal tab reloads as if I havenāt done anything!
If I go through the procedure again (this time Iām shown the file in the media library!) choose āImport all (1)ā then the one event imports successfuly. BTW If I try it again being able to see the icon in the media library, I still canāt tick the one event and import selected.
I seem unable to replicate these issues – I can consistently select just one (or “all”) events in the source file and successfully import them.
Though I appreciate you already noted as much when you opened the topic, can you confirm that with no other plugins but The Events Calendar and iCal Importer (both on the latest releases) and nothing else but a default, unmodified theme, you hit up against the same problem?
Barry
MemberI can appreciate it’s important for you, but I also feel that they shouldn’t be modifying the default timezone in this way (WordPress itself explicitly sets it to UTC to provide a uniform baseline, and their code is changing this).
Are you able to reach out to them for this one and confirm if:
- Their code still contains a date_default_timezone_set() call (which is what I remember and suspect is still in place, but it doesn’t harm to confirm)
- If they can provide some code that stops it from doing this
- If perhaps they could even explain why this is necessary it might give us some ideas for countering it

MemberThanks for enabling the debug code.
I see a similar out-of-memory issue in the ajax response when trying to navigate forwards/backwards with the calendar widget, albeit pointing to a different line of code.
It does sound then like a general lack of memory which is the problem – do bear in mind that currently the default memory_limit setting for PHP is actually 128M so boosting it even higher than 64M (do check in with your web host, too, as sometimes they impose a “hard cap” stopping you from adjusting it) could be worthwhile.

MemberEvent data is indeed stored within the post and postmeta tables. I’m sorry I can’t offer much more guidance here – certainly if you find that there is no problem with a clean installation (ie, the same plugins etc but an empty database, in which you create some test entries) it would seem to point to a problem in the way the database was exported/imported.

MemberI’m afraid we cannot – our current support policy doesn’t allow us to access the admin environments of customer websites.
Might you have any other customizations in place besides those – and have you tried testing for conflicts (including with your theme, which does seem to modify the form through the insertion of additional line break/paragraph tags)?
I realize it’s some extra work – but the fact that I can’t seem to reproduce in a clean installation and the general absence of lots of similar reports from others does point to a conflict, whether with another component on your site or a customization.

MemberDefinitely. There are lots of great freelance marketplaces – and be sure to look at this resource, too:

MemberHi Charmaine,
Events Calendar PRO won’t actually facilitate the embedding of the complete main events view on your frontpage – to do that would require some custom work or you could use a third party plugin which provides such a mode, like this one (though that’s not something we can support here).
A technique we used on our demo site was simply to automatically redirect visitors to the main events page – and there are numerous plugins out there that can help you do such a thing.
Do any of those ideas help here? I’m afraid that anything else would likely require some custom development.

MemberOdd.
Certainly strange to hit this if the database – and plugin stack – is effectively a carbon copy of the original site.
I do see that you updated from 2.0.11 to 3.10: can you confirm if this update was performed on the original site – or did you do it post-migration?
Definitely let me know how you get on with the other steps you outlined in your last reply.

MemberThanks!
On trying a test submission I noticed some form validation errors that – in a clean, “stock” installation – I would not normally expect.
Can you confirm if you have customized things, perhaps to force users to pick an event category? If so, can you try temporarily removing that customization and see if there is an improvement in the reported issue?
