Hi Alex: can you give an indication of how you plan on using product addons – it would just help us to get some context into this.

Sure, well we’ll wait and see if Max can help here since although the symptoms may be similar the cause isn’t necessarily going to be the same in each case, so I’ll wait out on his feedback and work through this with him.

Not as yet, I was waiting for Max to run through the recommended troubleshooting steps and report back – please feel free to run through those same steps also.

We do our best to help 🙂

Just to confirm: at this point, it seems as if everything is operating correctly? If so I’ll leave this thread open for a few more days just in case the same problem crops up again then I’ll close it (you can always create a new thread in any case).

Yeah sometimes taking things back to a “plain vanilla” state and reactivating everything is all that’s required. There can be a lot of moving parts in a typical WordPress site so it can be hard to pin down the root cause.

Anyway, we’ll keep this open for a few more days so just post back if the problem re-occurs.

We’re not at the beta stage quite yet I’m afraid, but stay tuned to our blog and the forum for an announcement on this.

Hi James – can you be a little more specific? I looked at one of your event pages and was not entirely sure about the problem you are facing.

Hi guys. We expect to bundle an importer with The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO 3.0 which will be the next major release.

We can certainly leave this open and see if any freelancers out there are up for helping out.

Hi Daniele, I’m guessing you’re all sorted here but just let me know if not.

Sababa: I think that’s a quite different issue. To avoid confusing this thread could I ask you to go ahead and create a new thread to accommodate this problem?

So … to save time, because I wasn’t sure which events had been assigned to venues, I went ahead and edited this event:

    http://www.flat-out.eu/event/trackscotland-trackday-2/

    And I assigned this venue:

    http://www.flat-out.eu/venue/fintray/

You can see that if you view the above single event page there is a link to the venue page, so I’m not sure I can see the actual problem here? If you can confirm that everything is operating as expected, the next step would be to reactivate any other plugins and your chosen theme.

Hi Donald – sorry to hear you and your client have had these problems. Some basic troubleshooting points (I’m aware you are running through some of these right now but bear with me):

    • Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch – that means if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.10 then you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.10
    • Deactivate all other plugins
    • Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
    • Now test to see if the problem remains
    • If that solves the problem, reactivate everything one-at-a-time until the problem returns (it may not) – taking note of whichever component you last activated when/if the problem does return

I understand you are reluctant to run through those steps in their entirety but what I’d suggest if you don’t get anywhere by only deactivating the plugins is creating a testing or staging environment. This could be a duplicate of the site on a different hosting account or at a push it could even be a new WordPress installation in a sub-directory – that way we can A) see if it is possible to replicate the problem and B) troubleshoot without fear of disrupting the live site.

It would also be great if you could distil the problem down to a set of steps that we can follow and try to replicate, such as:

    • Create a recurring event running from Date X to Date Y, every second week on Tuesdays
    • …Do some other actions…
    • Now view the calendar – we expect to see P but we are only seeing Q

That would make it massively easier for us to troubleshoot 🙂

    Thanks!
