MemberHi Simone – I can’t seem to find any of your events. Can you provide some URLs, to your calendar and to a specific URL for an event (you can obtain this from the event editor).
Have you also tried our standard troubleshooting steps?
- Please ensure you are running the most up to date versions of your Modern Tribe plugins. Disable all other plugins
- Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Eleven
- Does the problem persist?
Thanks!

MemberHi Elly. I’ll close this as a duplicate of this one: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/i-cant-see-the-published-events-on-my-list-nor-the-calendar/

MemberWell, I’m not sure there is an easy way to automate this and still retain images in this fashion … unless you switch to using post thumbs (featured images) and work in code from the tutorial I linked to in my first reply.
The problem is, what looks like an image in the visual post editor is actually a bit of code like this:
<img src="http://website.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/my-aunt-bessy-and-her-stuffed-giraffe_1024x800.png" alt="Old photo of my Aunt Bessy holding her stuffed giraffe, which Great Uncle Sim won in the 1908 Summer Fete during the Klondyke Gold Rush" title="What a lovely giraffe toy!" />So if we limit the number of characters, clearly we don’t want to include the many characters that make up an image tag. A further complication is, what if you have emboldened text, italicized it, both of those and/or you have applied other effects? That also means further tags are going to be present in the text.
The parser would have to be sufficiently complex to deal with all of that and be able to neatly close off each HTML element in the correct order, especially if the cut off point was half way through a set of nested elements.
For that reason, the truncate() method simply dispenses of tags and so I’d recommend the use of post thumbs instead of trying to display a shortened piece of content that retains images in the post.
Hope that makes sense!

MemberHi Robert. I tried following the URL you entered when you created this thread but it seems only to go to a domain/hosting holding page. Can you provide a URL that will let me see the problem?

MemberRegarding visibility of events in the event list, can you ensure that you have cleared any filters (then apply) and see if that solves anything?
Also, if you are able to locate one of the missing events via the method you described can you click through and tell me what you see when you view the event? Can you also provide the event URL so I can take a look?

MemberHi Elly, I’m going to move this to the Events Calendar PRO forum (rather that WooTickets) so that other people can find it more easily.
Barry
MemberIt’s probably possible to add them to the existing single event page. I’d also imagine you can take customers to the “actual” product page, too, however there is not currently an option or setting to allow easy control over this so, again, you would need some WP development expertise for this.

MemberOK, I see what you mean now. Yep so that’s a limitation in the way data is gathered for both the upcoming events list and advanced events widget.
The good news is this seems to be fixed in 3.0 and that version is hopefully going into beta shortly. So, if you were able to bear with this issue until that point we should be all sorted once it is released.
Barry
MemberOh … I think I see now: in your scenario, are the images actually inside the content, rather than being designated post featured images?
Barry
MemberOK, I can’t think of any other causes for this and you’re telling me this happens even without other plugins and only a default, unmodified theme. So, please bear with me a little further while I check in with the team to see if there are any further thoughts.
Barry
MemberRight, makes sense. Thanks – definitely seems like a sound idea to me 🙂

MemberHi James. I took a look at one of your events and can see what you are talking about. However, on a default installation (running just WP 3.5, Twenty Twelve and The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO) that isn’t the same. In that case I see this sort of title:
Events for January 2013, My Category Name
So quite possibly this is due to custom code, your theme or another plugin. Can you try disabling all other plugins and switching to a default theme to see if it restores that default behaviour with titles?
If it does, reactivate everything one-at-a-time until (if) the problem returns – that way we’ll at least know what component is responsible for this.

MemberHi Emu, I did manage to view this last night so I could see that there was a problem. It looks like the event has now expired/been deleted and so has the screenshot you shared in your initial post: it might be handy to restore these or create a new test event to help with troubleshooting.
With that said, I do notice that there is a Javascript error relating to Jigoshop (jigoshop_frontend.js line 28: “Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘easyTooltip'”) – and I wonder if this is stopping the Google map scripts from working their own magic.
Can you try disabling Jigoshop or otherwise working to remove that error and try this again? If that still doesn’t resolve anything can you please:
- Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch – for instance, if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.10 then please ensure you are also using Events Calendar PRO 2.0.10
- Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Eleven
- Now see if the problem persists
- If the problem has gone, reactivate everything one-at-a-time until the problem returns, noting whichever component you last activated when the problem does return (it may not return, though)
- If the problem does not go away, please post back and allow us a chance to look at the site and a test event exhibiting this problem before you reactivate everything
Thanks!

MemberSo long as you’re sorted 🙂 and thanks for posting back with the approach you used, might be helpful for others.

MemberI’m really sorry Anne: I’m trying to get the attention of the team member best placed to look at this, but unfortunately it’s a busy time and he may simply not have bandwidth right now – but please bear with us and I’ll do my best to have this issue addressed.
