Thanks David. I can’t help but report these piecemeal, I’m afraid, but here’s another JS error:

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'live'

This time relating to jQuery Nivo Slider v2.7.1 which is enqueued by your active theme – different error, different component (this time it’s your theme rather than a plugin) but it’s the same basic problem: if a Javascript error is generated by one component, whether theme or plugin, it will affect the execution of other bits of Javascript code.

Can you confirm if there are problems when you are using no other plugins and only a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve?

OK … turns out we’re aware of this and it will hopefully be fixed in a future version. The difference between what I saw and you saw was due to a different plugin (Community Events) running at the same time.

So, in summary, this is in hand and should be resolved shortly.

    Hi Sam,

Interestingly I see something different – a subscriber can view the list of events and submit new events for review. I’m going to check in with the team on this one – please bear with me as many of them are currently away so there might be a short delay of some days before I get back to you.

Thanks Andrew, there were some further steps in there – for instance are you/were you using a caching plugin and did you ensure the cache was cleared before deactivating it?

Can you also confirm that all of your Modern Tribe plugins are up to date and in synch?

    Hi Paul,

I’m not sure we can help too much with this one since it sounds fairly custom, but if you want to share your code (please use a service such as Pastebin or Gist rather than posting directly in the forum) then I’d be happy to take a look and see if anything jumps out at me.

    Cheers!

    Hi David,

There is a Javascript error present on your site which has the potential to stop other Javascript code from running:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'match' of null

This relates to mlti_str_replace.js which looks like it belongs to the Mimetypes Link Icons plugin – so if you could try disabling that in the first instance to see if that resolves the problem that would be great.

@David, please feel free to monitor this thread but to avoid confusion it would be great if you could create your own.

@Andrew, can you confirm that you have tried our standard troubleshooting steps, or else now take the time to run through them:

    • Ensure all of your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch. If you are running The Events Calendar 2.0.11 for example then you must also run Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11
    • Deactivate all other plugins; if you have been using a caching pluign please clear the cache immediately before deactivating
    • Revert to a default and completely unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve
    • Now test to see if the problem still exists
    • If that resolves the problem, please reactivate everything one-at-a-time until the problem returns – and take note of the last item you re-enabled before the problem returned

If you could run through those steps and let me know the outcome that would be great.

And can you confirm that you have correctly entered your Eventbrite API key on your user profile page (please double check it is accurate)?

Thanks Christopher – that would be great.

“Soon” … I’m afraid I can’t be any more specific. It’s current in the beta testing phase and depending on what shakes out of that the official launch could be delayed or brought forward, so we really can’t say right now exactly when that will be.

Hi Simone, I’m sorry about that – but I still can’t provide you with what you need because Gantry does things in a notably different way (please also consider using their support channels) as compared to other themes and also because we don’t have bandwidth for this right now.

My previous response still stands – we’ll try to create a tutorial, however you shouldn’t expect to see this prior to the release of The Events Calendar 3.0.

While I’m sorry for any frustration there really isn’t much else I can offer at this point in time. With that in mind I will now close this thread to new replies.

Hi Jarod: to avoid confusion can I ask you to post this in a new thread? Thanks!

Nothing that’s jumping out at me, to be honest, though I can’t help but think there might be some other issue at work. People do report issues with updates but nothing I have seen quite like this.

When .htaccess is set up to allow for pretty permalinks then – to the best of my knowledge – any further flushes of permalink rules such as might happen on updates or activation/deactivation will not (should not) generate further changes in that file, only to the list of rewrite rules held in the database.

So, one strategy could be to change the file permissions on .htaccess to prevent WordPress from changing it in the future. Of course – if in future it determines that a change is necessary and can’t do it, then it will flag this up on the Settings > Permalinks admin page.

I wouldn’t be too worried about server load, but if it is a real concern you could consider using the filter approach to dictate which template is loaded right off the bat.

In any case, so long as you’ve got a working solution you’re happy with that’s the main thing 🙂 … but let me know if there’s anything else we can help with.
