Thanks Heather, I’ve replied with a copy of 3.0 – if you have any further questions please let me know.

Thanks for all your patience so far and bearing with us while we tried some of these ideas out. I’m currently seeking further input from the dev team – so there might be a short delay but please know that we’re definitely committed to helping out as best we can here and will update you as soon as we can.

Here is some minimal code to help you achieve that, you’d need to add any bells and whistles yourself. The idea would be to stick this in your (custom) single.php events template within the loop.

Adding your license key should allow you to perform automated updates, but you may wish to update manually to an intermediate version like 1.3.3 first of all.

If you want to get hold of that version then please email us (at [email protected], including a link to this thread) and we’ll be happy to provide a copy.

    Hi Heather,

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /home/content/07/10302207/html/wp-includes/post-template.php on line 1039.

We’ve seen a few reports of that, but, so far have been unable to replicate it ourselves which is problematic 🙁

I have done a lot of customization on this site, using the new Thesis 2.0.3.1 theme. It appears that the /events page just wants to pull content from the home page.

OK, I hadn’t realized that you were using Thesis.

Thesis can be more challenging to configure and integrate than many other themes because its structure is quite different from “standard” themes (there’s nothing wrong with it – and integration between Thesis and our plugin is probably possible, but right now we can’t really guide you through this).

We do plan on creating a tutorial though which should be available when 3.0 is released or soon thereafter … until then I’m not sure there is too much more we can do to help on that front.

One thing I can offer you though is a copy of our 3.0 beta code (and if you want to take us up on this, please email us at [email protected] referencing this thread and we’ll send you a copy). It isn’t production ready – ie we don’t recommend using it on live sites – but it might give you an indication as to whether:

    A) integration with Thesis is smoother with that version, and
    B) if the problem with the in_array() error on post-template.php:1039 is resolved with themes other than Thesis

I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

    Hi Andrew.

Unfortunately we haven’t quite narrowed down the cause of this problem, so what we’re going to suggest here is trying out the 3.0 beta.

If you’re game to try that out then you will of course need the latest beta version of the plugin … I’m not sure if you’ve already requested a copy from Rob or not but, if not, please go ahead and do so or else email me at [email protected] – marking the email FAO Barry and linking back to this thread and I’ll be happy to provide a copy.

We’re basically interested in seeing if the new code in that version resolves this for you. I would stress that it is beta code and not intended for use in production/live environments, but it would definitely be worthwhile trying it out in your staging area.

I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

Sure, just following up with the dev to make sure he saw my question – I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, apologies for the delay.

    Hi Alan,

I can replicate that and will log it for the devs to look at. If possible I’ll see if we can get a patch for you however, unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that.

But stay tuned and I’ll update you 🙂

Hi Aaron, I gather you are also talking to my fellow team member Leah by email, so I’ll leave you in her capable hands.

But if you need further input from me just post back in here. Cheers!

We’d hope in the next couple of months, but can’t really commit to a specific date just yet – a lot depends on what comes up during beta testing, which is currently underway.

Hi Melissa – anything is possible! Please check out:

    • Our themer’s guide
    • This tutorial on template overrides
    • See also this tutorial which covers adding post thumbnails to the Next Event widget. Though that may not be quite what you want to do here it shows some of the basic “mechanics” of the process which you can apply elsewhere

    Does that help?

    Hi Heather,

Have you done some fairly extensive customization here? Strangely, http://indyfamilyresource.com/events/ and http://indyfamilyresource.com/events/month/ look pretty much identical, and not at all like I would expect on an “out of the box” installation (which is fine, but means I need more information to help troubleshoot).

If you are unsure about this (perhaps because you have worked with a web designer who set things up on your behalf) then can you try running through the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up to date and in synch (if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 ensure Events Calendar PRO is also 2.0.11)
    • Deactivate all other plugins
    • Switch to a default and unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
    • Now test and see if the same problem still exists. If it resolves the issue, reactivate everything one-at-a-time, testing at each stage to see if it returns – taking note of whatever component seems to cause the problem to return

In this case, please also check if you have an existing page (the regular WordPress kind) which is named Events?

    Thanks!
