I will set the status of this topic to ‘Pending fix’ so that it doesn’t get automatically closed after a while.

July 10, 2018 at 2:03 am in reply to: Does Event Aggregator Support Importing Recurring Events from iCal? #1571336Andras
KeymasterHi again,
Thanks for sharing that.
they come over as single non-recurring events.
Yes, that is expected behavior.
As noted on the Event Aggregator product page, “If you are going to be using Events Calendar PRO on your site it’s worth noting that while Event Aggregator can import recurring events, once imported they will become standalone, single events—rather than a connected series of events.”
So if they are importing the recurrences as single events, that’s how it’s supposed to work.
If it’s not importing recurrences, then make sure that the first instance of the event series is also in the range of your import. If it’s not, then the recurrences will likely not be imported.
If they still don’t get imported, then we might have a bug on our hands.
Do the recurrences import? Based on your opening note they don’t, but your second note suggests they do. Can you please confirm?
If you are still having an issue, then please let me know which event from the feed is the troublemaker.
Thanks,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHi,
Thanks for checking that. Even though it didn’t solve this issue I recommend to leave that plugin active to keep the number of posts per page compatibility.
As for your issue I looked at your site and I see a jQuery error in the console, which might be coming from Monarch, or some other plugin. (screenshot: https://cloudup.com/cjs78pBsSWm)
I ran a test with Divi, TEC and no other plugins and all worked fine.
In any case, a full conflict test should reveal which plugin is causing it.
Once we can determine that we can try to cook up a solution.
Let me know what you find.
Cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHello Sara,
Jaime is out this week, so I’m jumping in to help you out.
Sorry to hear about this issue. I have tried to recreate this with your feed, but so far I didn’t manage. Everything imported once and no duplicates were created yet.
I understand that the “Do not re-import events” option is not a solution for you. We will need to dig a bit deeper and run some test and I will need your help for that.
I would like to ask you to make a fresh start with that import. To do that:
- Delete your scheduled import
- Delete all imported events => after deletion they will be put on the “hide & ignore” list, which is like the trash for the non-imported events
- Go to the “Hide & Ignore” list and remove the events from there as well => if you don’t do this then the events will not be imported again
- Set up the scheduled import again, but set it to either on-demand or daily import.
Sometimes hourly import can mess up things. What can happen is that your scheduled import starts, but it doesn’t finish before the next scheduled import starts. Since some events might not have arrived yet, the 2nd import asks for them again, thus they will be imported twice.
After a couple of hours setting it up (and you set it to on-demand) go to your scheduled imports and run the import manually again.
Or if you set it to daily, then wait a day until the import runs again.
Let me know if the duplication still happens.
The other thing you can test is, set up a test site and set up the scheduled import there with hourly import. Check if the duplication happens there.
Looking forward to hearing the results.

KeymasterHey Martin,
Thanks for reaching out!
Also thanks for the screenshot, that is really helpful.
Based on that I see that you have set up a multi-day event from July 7 to 22, and you made that a recurring one.
My hunch is this is not really what you intended to do.
I guess that is an event running from 10 to 5 on one day. As a first I would recommend you to set the end date in the top row to July 7 as well. When you save that your event and the recurrences will be updated too.
Let me know if that gives you the expected result or if you are still having issues afterwards.

KeymasterHi thishonestfood,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
I’m afraid variable pricing is not supported like that at the moment.
If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there. Please provide as much details as you can. A scenario description would be very helpful too.
What you can do at the moment is setting up different tickets with different prices.
Another approach, which might work for you is using the WooCommerce product page to sell tickets. Here is an article on how you can achieve that.
Hope this helps.

KeymasterHi Glen,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
That is an awesome question!
I believe that should be possible with some custom development.
You would need to create a template override for the single event template, and add the ‘if … else’ block there.
And you can do a comparison between the current date/time and tribe_event_is_on_date.
If that function doesn’t suit you than feel free to search our documentation.
Hope this helps.

KeymasterHi taeweb,
Thanks for reaching out!
Can you share that file / feed with me? I would like to run some tests.
If I know correctly it should import recurrences as single events, given that your import settings are correct. The import settings are under Events > Settings > Imports tab.

KeymasterGuten Tag Herr Schaefer und wilkommen bei unsered Help Desk,
If you don’t mind I will switch to English so that other community members looking for similar information can understand as well. Wenn Sie die Antworten lieber auf Deutsch haben möchten, lassen Sie mich wissen.
Ability for clients to create events independently / not needing admin
This is possible with the Community Events plugin. You can allow visitors to create events on your website with or without needing an account.
Ability for clients to sell events / sell tickets to events
For this you will need the following pluigins:
- Event Tickets
- Event Tickets Plus
- Community Tickets
- WooCommerce
Important note: if tickets are sold for the events that user’s set up, the money will go to the site owner.
Community Tickets did have the possibility to split payments and send the money to the seller’s account, however the service needed for this functionality (Adaptive Payments by PayPal) has been stopped and at the moment there is no replacement yet. We are investigating different options for this and do hope to be able to provide this functionality soon again.
For the time being when tickets are sold, the site owner (or wherever the money goes) will need to redistribute the money.
Admin approves / enables users after signing up for a subscription plan
This functionality is not part of our plugins, so we cannot provide a solution for this.
A lot of our clients use WooCommerce Subscriptions successfully for this functionality. And likely there are other similar plugins out there which can achieve this.
Group Events
Could you please explain in detail what you mean by this? How do you imagine them to work? Feel free to do this in German if you feel that you cannot properly explain this in English.
Cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHi Raul,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
Sorry you are having issues with this.
We are investigating why this still happens even if clearing transients. However, usually after a couple hours the options should be available.
Make sure that you have the license key saved under Events > Settings > Licenses tab.
In case you didn’t do it like this, then after entering the license key please wait for the green success message to appear and then click the Save button.
Clicking on Save before the success message usually results in the license key not being saved.
Let me know if you are still having issues with this and I’ll be glad to help you further.

Thanks for reaching out!
I have checked your page and found something else as well.
If I go to the Kurse page (https://finde-deinen-malkurs.de/kurse/) and navigate to the next page, then I don’t see the events of Ute Zander. There should be one on July 10.
It looks like that it’s a recurring event, is that right?
Do you have the option ‘Recurring Event Instances’ set to show only the first instance of a recurring event? That might cause this behavior. The setting is under Events > Settings > General tab > Recurring Event Instances.
Please check and let me know.
Grüsse
AndrasAndras

KeymasterHi jdancu,
Thanks for the ping.
We have identified the issue and gathered a lot of information. We also have possible solution paths. We are waiting for a decision to be made on which path to take, then the fix / change needs to be coded.
To give you a bit more detail on the issue and why it is taking a bit longer than usual: the geocoder API we use gives back the wrong information, so we might need to change the API we use.
There are different options with different costs associated.
We want to choose a solution that serves our customers well, doesn’t push costs on them and makes future development and maintenance manageable for us.
Since the option are laid out I do hope this is not going to take too long any more.
While I still cannot give you a rough timeline on when this is going to be fixed, feel free to ping for an update any time.
Cheers,
Andras -
