    Hello Ali!

I am sorry that you are having difficulties with your events calendar. I will try to help figure out the issues.

First the filter bar. In the WordPress admin, navigate to Events > Setting and select the “Filter” tab. Which checkboxes are checked in the “Available Filters” box? Try changing a few, or enable them all temporarily and save. Does this change anything?

Regarding the location search: Could you please check your venues to see if the latitude and longitude fields are filled in? You can find those fields by clicking the ‘Use latitude + longitude’ checkbox.

If the fields are empty, please try saving the venue again with the ‘Use latitude + longitude’ option unchecked, and then re enable to see if the coordinates get filled in.

Also, have you created and entered a Google API key? This would be entered in Events > Settings, in the “APIs” tab under “Google Maps API.”

Please let me know these details.

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Justin,

Awesome, glad that sorted it out. And thanks for sharing the location of the settings in Jetpack! Hopefully that will help future users with the same issue who may find this in the support forum.

    Take care,
    Sky

    Hi Jennifer,

Hiding the message is certainly one way to deal with it. Finding and fixing the underlying cause of the issue would obviously be more ideal, but without narrowing it down to one of our plugins, I’m not sure how we could proceed.

I understand that you may not be able to disable plugins and change themes on your live site. Is is possible that you could create a staging site where that would be an option? This is a best practice for exactly this type of situation.

If that would be a possibility, I could point you to some helpful web resources. Or, if you need help hiding the message with CSS, I could also help with that.

Thanks, and let me know how you would like to proceed.

    Simon,

It is behaving slightly differently for me than before, but the ajax is still breaking somewhere. In order to proceed in troubleshooting this, I need to be able to reproduce the bug with the default Twenty Seventeen theme and all other plugins disabled.

You will need to create a staging install, or if your site is not “live” yet, switch themes, disable plugins, and let me take a look at it.

Let me know if this is something you will be able to do.

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hello Karl!

Thanks for your interest in our plugins. The available option for exporting is to use the default WordPress export tool, though it does not have the ability to specify the date range or categories like that.

However, there is a very good plugin from another developer called WP All Export that I believe will do exactly what you are wanting.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Justin,

It has just come to my attention that those related events are actually being generated by Jetpack, and not The Events Calendar, which doesn’t show past events in the “related events” section. You will need to disable or configure this within Jetpack, and not in the Events Calendar settings.

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hi Justin!

I’m sorry you’re having issues with the related events. I will try to help you figure this out.

It seems that it is pulling past events into the ‘related events’ area, and since they are recurring events, clicking the link takes you to the first instance of the event that has not already occurred.

Would you prefer to only show events in the related events section that haven’t happened yet, or do you want to disable related events all together?

Also, when you say you turned off the setting for related events, do you mean that you checked the checkbox in Events > Settings > Display tab for “Hide related events”?

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hi Ole!

I will try to help you get this sorted.

Not sure where the first bit of code came from, but it doesn’t look properly constructed. The code you are using to set the excerpt length looks fine, however.

There is a filter in the function that outputs the excerpt that determines which html is allowed inside. By default, the list is pretty short. However, you can override this by passing in an expanded list. WordPress uses something called “wp_kses” to detail which html elements and attributes can be used in various circumstances. The data has to be passed in using a certain format, in array form.

Here is an example of adding more html elements to be allowed in the excerpts by using this filter. If you need more information on formatting for wp_kses, check out the WordPress documentation: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_kses

Let me know if that works for you.

    Hi Peter,

I’m sorry you are having trouble getting translations setup properly. I’d be happy to help figure out the problem.

First, I’d like to verify the steps you have taken in setting up the plugins. Is this the process that you followed?

Have you installed and activated the WPML, WPML String Translation and WPML Translation Management plugins?

Have you enabled WPML custom slug translation in WPML > Translation Management > Multilingual Content Setup > Custom post slug translation options ?

Have you enabled the “Use different slugs for different languages for Events” checkbox and provided a alternate slug for the language you are trying to translate?

And when you say you “purged permalinks,” did you try disabling and then reenabling the WPML custom slug translation option before visiting the permalinks page?

Please let me know if you have followed these particular steps before we move forward.

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hi Ariya!

The Events Calendar Pro does let you create recurring events in that manner. However, Events Tickets Plus currently doesn’t work with recurring events. This will be a feature that is added at some point in the future, but I can’t provide a timeline for when that will happen.

If you are using WooCommerce to sell your tickets, you can use the Product Bundles premium plugin to group events together under one ticket.

However, bundles created through WooCommerce won’t display on your events. You would need to sell the tickets through your WooCommerce products page for this to work. You can learn more about how to do this on our Knowledgebase article here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/selling-tickets-from-the-woocommerce-products-page/

Thanks, and let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Richard!

While The Events Calendar Pro allows you to create recurring events, the ability to sell tickets to just one of those instances unfortunately doesn’t work with Event Tickets Plus at the moment.

This feature has been often requested and is on the roadmap. However, I can’t provide a timeframe for when it will be available as a feature.

Thanks for reaching out and let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Reynaldo,

I’m sorry that you are having issues with your license. I will try to help figure out the problem.

Are you entering your license in the main network settings? This would be located under Network Admin > Settings > Events Settings. Also, are you Network Activating the plugin, or activating it on individual sub sites?

Another thought: Have you changed the domain of the main network site? If so, you will need to log in to your Events Calendar account, remove the old domain and add the new one.

    Thanks,
    Sky
