Just a heads up here, Vivek (as Jonah is now on sabbatical)…I had another dev take a look here and have confirmed the issue. Seems like jquery.validate.js decided to re-declare how jquery.delegate works. This was probably done before .delegate was added to jquery…but it’d be nice of them to check if there’s native .delegate before fu¢¬ing with it. Changing our code from .delegate to .live fixes the issue.

This has been pushed to our dev branch and will be included in the next (2.0.9) release sometime in early September. Thanks for your patience so far and let me know if you have any other questions.

David’s diagnosis nailed it, FYI – after having our dev take another look here he confirmed as much. The workaround would be to create your own Facebook App that has its own API codes…

Hey Rachel: hope things are well with you. I wanted to follow-up on this, since I haven’t seen much in the thread/our internal ticket on the issue…and Jonah is now out on sabbatical for the next few weeks.

Can you confirm if you’re still having issues here? If so, I can take point on this and make sure we get you what you need this week. Thanks for your patience on it so far.

Hey again Torstein. I hope things are well with you since we last exchanged notes. My team has been following up on this and we’re still kind of stumped; would it be possible to get from you a copy of the site / db dump to debug it more easily? If so, that will definitely be valuable in helping us find a resolution here.

Let me know if that’s doable. If so, please shoot an email over to pro /a/ tri.be, referencing this thread, and we’ll look into it from there. Cheers!

Hey there Mike. Thanks for the follow-up, and for the explanation of your process. I just followed these steps (it shouldn’t matter if you have PRO or not, but I deactivated it just to be safe) and am seeing events from buzzbinmagazine showing up fine on my Import FB Events tab: http://d.pr/i/pZuD.

Is it possible that you entered the username in one of the Facebook App ID/Secret fields, instead of the one below them? It should appear like so: http://d.pr/i/xMyG. Let me know if you think that is possible.

Hey Marek. Thanks for the follow-up here, and for the screenshot you’ve provided. What you’re requesting is on our radar and is planned for the next phase of this plugin; if it doesn’t make it into next month’s maintenance release it’ll likely be the one after.

When we built the plugin we were limited by the Eventbrite API on this and weren’t able to keep everything contained within the user’s site; however our devs may have a workaround and since we have seen a lot of requests for this we’re going to do our best to make it happen.

Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more in the short-term. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Gotcha – thanks for confirming, Tony. Glad to hear you found a temporary workaround. As requested I’ll get the devs to take a look and see if they can get you what you need here. Just to set expectations, it may not be until Monday given that we’re down a man on support this month.

Thanks for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience until then. Let me know if I can do anything else in the interim.

If you would be willing to post them into new threads (ideally a separate thread for each distinct issue, so we don’t create confusion addressing multiple issues in the same thread) it’d be fantastic…and we could respond directly from there. Cheers!

Hi folks. Roxanne: thanks for the heads up on this. We have gotten a few reports from folks in your situation and it sounds like something may have changed on our end with regards to PUE. We are looking into this and hope to have it fixed for the next release. Are you all set now that you’ve done the manual update?

Sheryl Lynn: just confirming that, based on our email exchange, you’re all set here.

Hey Louis. Thanks for the follow-up here. Just a heads up that Jonah is actually on sabbatical currently and will be for about the next month, but I’m happy to field this to another dev so we can get you a response. Just to set expectations, though — since it’s getting late on Friday I probably will not be able to get them to take a look until sometime Monday. That being said this is on the top of the queue for that day so you should have a response quickly into the new week.

Thanks for your patience so far and please let me know if I can do anything else in the interim. Cheers!

Hi again Caroline. Thanks for the note here, too – on this one I am seeing the issue but oddly am not able to recreate it on my default 2011 install. It makes me think something else is at play related to this particular site.

Can you confirm a few things for me on this? Specifically:

    * Make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress.
    * Make sure you’re running the latest version of the Events plugin (2.0.8) and the Events PRO plugin (2.0.8).
    * It could be a permalinks-related issue. Resave your permalinks page to reset them. If you have permalinks turned off, turn them on with a structure like /%postname%/.
    * Switch to a different templating option under Settings –> The Events Calendar, using the dropdown.
    * Try the plugin deactivation route: deactivate your other plugins one-by-one, until just The Events Calendar/Events PRO are active, to see if it’s a conflict on that end.
    * If that doesn’t do the trick, is there a staging environment where you can test all plugins off (except Events) AND reverting to the default 2011 theme?

Let me know how those go, particularly the last couple steps. We’ll do what we can to assist from there.

Hi Caroline. Thanks for reaching out, and for posting this. I am seeing the issue on your site and appreciate you sharing the links right off the bat (which all too many users forget to do).

I’m wondering if this has something to do with how the event is configured; when I click into it I see that it is set up as a recurring event (http://d.pr/i/m9rP) but recurs only the 1 time. It seems if I understand your goal here, this would make more sense as a standalone two-day event that DOESN’T recur.

Can you try setting it up that way (just disabling the recurrence) and let me know if the issue persists? We can do our best to help address it from there.

Awesome to hear! Thanks for confirming, Colleen. Glad to be of service and I’m happy you got this figured out. It sounds like you’re all set here but if you need anything else in the future please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Thanks, too, for your support so far.

Gotcha. We haven’t forgotten about this; support has been a bit backlogged as we’re down a man this month but I should be able to get you a response here shortly. Thanks for your patience, Phil.

Hey Rick. Thanks for the note here; happy to help best I can. On these:

    1. Category view is controlled by the list.php file (which also controls the broader list itself). If you make a copy of this file in a new ‘events’ folder in your theme directory, then modify that file instead of the one in the core plugin, your changes will not be overwritten next time there is an update to the plugin.

    2. We have a known conflict with the All-In-One-SEO plugin, as well as Yoast, unfortunately. We realize there is strong demand for integration with both and should have a fix deployed in the 2.1 release, if not the 2.0.9 build we’ve got on deck for early September (if we can get it figured out by then). In the interim, might the suggest provided by Daniel from our team in this thread – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/editing-page-titles-when-using-wordpress-seo-plugin/ – be of value to you?

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else on the above and I’ll get you what you need. Thanks again for your support so far.
