Hey Rick. At this point if you can’t accomplish what you’re going for with template tags (as detailed at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ), it’s likely that the best route would be to just create a “Venues” page manually and list them that way.

We have had requests for a venue page that just shows all the venues as you’ve mentioned here, and are looking to work that into the 2.1 release that is coming sometime in the fall. Apologies there isn’t more I can offer in the short-term, though.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else here.

Hey Carlos. Thanks for the follow-up. Sorry to hear this is still an issue on your end; it’s a bit difficult to diagnose, largely because this isn’t a core behavior of the plugin (we’re totally unable to recreate it on our test environment) so it seems like something specific to your install is at play here.

Just to confirm: the code provided in that other thread you noted was never added to the core plugin; you’ll need to incorporate it yourself. Could that be the issue here?

Glad to be of service, Domaintrader. Does this get you where you want to be? Sounds like we’re set here but let me know, before I close out the issue, just to be sure we’ve covered your needs. Thanks!

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the follow-up; not sure how much we’ll be able to do on this end as we don’t provide full support for mobile/tablet viewing in the code quite yet. But let me see if Paul has any other ideas here.

Fantastic to hear. Thanks for confirming as much, Selig – glad to hear you’re set. It sounds like this issue is good to go…but if we can do anything else down the road please let us know.

Thanks for the follow-up, Rafael – and we appreciate your understanding on this. We’ll post here on the forum once we’ve got that code ready to go, as we realize a lot of folks are interested in it. Thanks for your patience — and your words of support — in the interim. Sounds like we’re all set with this thread but if you need anything else down the road please let us know.

Hey Selig, thanks for the words. Happy to help you out best I can here…first, have you popped open the event-form.php file? The entirety of what is displayed on the event form is controlled by this .php file and if you were to just remove the image-related code that should be doable.

Hope that helps. If you were looking for more specific guidance than that, let me know and I can get a dev to try and assist. Cheers!

Thanks for confirming, Phil. Not sure how doable this is (you may want to look into third-party plugins that can allow for this) but I’ve asked a dev to take a look and try to point you in the right direction. Stay tuned!

Hey Rafael. You may be able to find a workaround solution by reviewing the forum archives here (from what I recall folks who changed the feed had the best luck with a third-party plugin of some kind), but it’s worth noting that this is definitely on our radar. We have had a lot of requests to make the RSS feed more specific to events (showing the date of the event, not the date of publication, and to include more events data).

We’re working on that now as we plan on including such a fix somewhere in the 2.1 lifecycle, given how many people are requesting it. That should be deployed sometime in the fall.

Hope this helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more. If you have other questions or if you need anything else please let me know.

Hi Max. Thanks for the follow-up. If you’re running 2.0.8, you shouldn’t need to use any code or make any configurations to that file. It’ll work out of the box.

Here is the calendar widget as it appears on the backend: http://d.pr/i/TuvD
Here it is on the frontend, showing the current month: http://d.pr/i/WLDg
Here it is if I click forward a month when still viewing on the frontend: http://d.pr/i/k52o

Our broader documentation/template tag details can be found at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation. Can you let me know what specifically you’re looking to do outside of what I’ve shown the plugin can do above, so I can do my best to advise you properly? Thanks in advance!

Hey Graeme. Gotcha; not positive that we’ll be able to give you the exact solution here but I have asked a dev to take a look and try to point you in the right direction. Stay tuned on that end.

You can continue doing things as you are now, but the downside in doing so is that when you next update the plugin these will be overwritten and you’ll have to add them again. Should be fine so long as you have the code handy but may take some unnecessary time…by making the copy and modifying that, you know your changes will forever be preserved.

Nice! Glad to hear you found a workaround here, Larry. If this proves unsuitable in the long-term or if you need anything else from us as you keep working with the plugin…please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Sean: gotcha; I am seeing that email there and apologies we haven’t hit it yet. (We’ve been a bit backlogged this week as I’ve been the only member of the support team not on vacation). I’ve got the ticket over to Joyce from our team and she’ll be responding later this afternoon to help flush this out for you.

We’ll take the information you sent over via email and will keep it behind-the-scenes as context, but will respond to you in the thread here so the discussion is best tracked in one place. Thanks for your patience so far.
