Hey aurelio! Thanks for this report, and my sincere apologies for the delay in getting you a reply here. We’re still not back to our regular 24 hour response window and I’m sorry for the delay we caused you as a result of that.

It looks like you’ve got #1 sorted, right? You are correct that you’d want to do an override of the photo.php view, which basically means creating your own template that the plugin calls instead of the default one. Template overrides are covered in some depth at https://theeventscalendar.com/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/. Let us know if you have other questions there.

    As for your other points:

#2: Have you configured manual excerpts for your events, or just used the “Read More” link that can be generated from the WYSIWYG editor? If I understand your goal here properly, that should accomplish it.
#3: This isn’t really a stock/default behavior, but I suspect you could do it by creating custom templates for any of the views on which you wanted this to take place (it would probably have to be done on each of those individual views, though, rather than finding some way to apply it across-the-board).

Hope that helps point you in the right direction. Let me know if not, or if you have other questions here.

Hey there calarttech! The multi-day event cutoff in 3.0 is located under the Events -> Settings -> General tab. It’s actually been renamed to the End Of Day cutoff and can be seen here: http://d.pr/i/eNgC.

That said, we do have a bug with it not functioning properly in the current release. This should be fixed in an impending maintenance release and we appreciate your patience on this end until then. If I can do anything else, or if you have other questions, please let me know.

Alright! Thanks for confirming as much. Sorry to hear you took a different direction, but if you ever need anything else from us down the road, just holler.

Hey thisismarkc. Thanks for confirming as much. While it’ll admittedly be a bit hard to troubleshoot without a copy of the widget, it sounds like this is indeed something that might need to be tweaked on the theme/widget side, rather than our end. The events categories themselves aren’t traditional WordPress categories, and my guess is the widget is only providing those as an option.

That said: if their widgets work like ours, you should be able to override it and use a custom template instead. (You’d want to check with the theme’s documentation as to whether this is possible + how it’s done). You would then use your custom template to call both types of categories, instead of just the WordPress ones.

That help? Sorry I couldn’t offer more here, but hopefully this points you in the right direction. Let me know if not.

Hey again charlestupman. So I had our developer take a look here and he was able to confirm that there is indeed something specific to your theme that doesn’t appear to be playing well with The Events Calendar (or some of Woo’s functionality, from the looks of things). This does largely seem to be due to the fact that the theme relies heavily on AJAX.

We’re happy to help you out best we can, but honestly this does sound like it may be more a byproduct of the theme (and thus something the theme’s devs might be best suited to address). Have you posed the question to them of how users should approach other plugins that rely on AJAX? I suspect you aren’t the first user to encounter this problem…

Let me know your thoughts. Sorry I couldn’t offer anything more substantive at the moment.

Hi there Geri! Thanks for the note here, and my apologies for the inconvenience you’ve faced so far. This issue is unfortunately a known bug for sites running WordPress 3.6. We should have it patched in an impending monthly maintenance release very soon; but until then, we do have a snippet users can add to their functions.php file which should temporarily address the problem until the fix is deployed.

That snippet can be found here: https://gist.github.com/jazbek/6169607. Can you give that a shot and let me know if it addresses your problem? Thanks!

Hey again Luke. Thanks for the follow-up here and glad to help you out best I could. Regarding that last point, by way of clarification: what you could do is define a custom taxonomy called “companies”, and make our organizers use that taxonomy, (assuming you could also use that taxonomy for the other 3 plugins’ post types). That’s how you could link the companies together (by having them share the same company name term in that taxonomy).

Hope that helps! Let us know if we can do anything else.

Hey folks. Thanks for the follow-ups here. This is a bit outside both Kelly and my areas of expertise, but I’ve got Samuel – our resident AJAX master – taking a look here to see if the idea put forth by charles in his last comment could indeed be the source, and whether there’s anything we could do on our end to optimize.

No guarantees but we’ll see what we can get you here, in as timely a fashion as possible. Thanks for your patience so far and in the interim.

Hey again locallive. I actually just looked through our records and the related thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/near-location-field-favours-american-cities-uk-ones-not-appearing/)…and it looks like this should have been released by now. Have you upgraded to 3.0.3 core / 3.0.5 PRO? We deployed a patch in that very release that should have taken care of this: it favors cities in which you have events vs cities far away. It doesn’t really “limit”, but give them priority for the city search.

Let me know if you upgraded and the issue indeed persists.

Thanks so much for the assist here, Andy! You rule.

Frostbyte: once you’ve had a chance to give this a go, let us know the results. I’m marking Andy’s comment as the answer for now but will leave the thread open for you to comment and confirm as much when you can. Cheers!
