Is there a way to exclude US locations and only show uk locations in the dropdown. We are building a UK wide system, but dont want the US equivalents of Birmingham/Manchester to show up when people search.
Hey locallive! Thanks for the note here. Have you tried using a custom list of countries, as per this field (http://d.pr/i/5bHq) under Events -> Settings -> Default Content? Let me know if that won’t work or if I’m misunderstood here.
Yes, this applies to creating organisers/venues, but not the search bar as I understand it. Certainly I have this set as UK, United Kingdom and still see US locations when searching.
Ah, that makes an excellent point. I’ll get a dev to confirm but we probably need to update the Tribe Bar to pull reflect that. I’ll also see if we can provide you a snippet-based solution in the interim. Stay tuned on both fronts.
Hey again locallive. I actually just looked through our records and the related thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/near-location-field-favours-american-cities-uk-ones-not-appearing/)…and it looks like this should have been released by now. Have you upgraded to 3.0.3 core / 3.0.5 PRO? We deployed a patch in that very release that should have taken care of this: it favors cities in which you have events vs cities far away. It doesn’t really “limit”, but give them priority for the city search.
Let me know if you upgraded and the issue indeed persists.
