MemberScott, we’ve got the issue for #1 logged and are looking into it for 2.1 (which we’re planning now for a mid-to-late January release).
Can you share with us the RSS feed where you’re seeing this happen, so we can identify whether it’s a bug or not (and if so get logged for a future release)? Thanks in advance!
Rob
MemberThanks Corey. So you just want the background behind the calendar there to be white, you’re saying? Just want to confirm before I get a dev to take a look.
Rob
MemberThis is a good suggestion. We didn’t have anything in the works for it, but it does seem logical that users would want to see this. I’ve added it to the list – no guarantees it’ll make it into the 2.1 release, but it’s on the radar now. Thanks Caleb!
Rob
MemberWe should be able to help you with this. I’ll get Jonah to comment directly.
Rob
MemberWe don’t have shortcodes in this plugin, but have you checked out the template tags and what they can do? Seems you could accomplish what you’re going for that way. Those are detailed here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/. Let me know if that’s not what you were looking for.
Rob
MemberWhat permalink structure are you using, Michael? We have a bug in the current release where things get messed up (including at times the calendar dropdown) for users not running a pretty permalink structure, ie /%postname%/. Would you be willing to give that a shot and let me know if it fixes your issue or not? I can keep looking into it from there.
Rob
MemberThat’s odd. Let me see if our developer Jonah has any thoughts on this; he’ll chime in directly here.
Rob
MemberHey Sean: thanks for this. We’re working to fix the forum so code pastes work fine here; in the interim, feel free to use pastie.org or something similar. Apologies for the inconvenience there.
Rob
MemberThanks for this, Caleb.
Rob
MemberNo worries Christopher; I’ve moved it over accordingly. What theme are you using? We’ve received a few reports of comments not appearing with certain themes that we’re working to fix for 2.1. On the other hand, it could just be a template-related issue. We’ve got a bug in 2.0.1 (fixed for 2.0.2, which will hopefully launch today) regarding the comment box not appearing in the Default Page Template. In the short term, you should be able to resolve this by changing to the Default Events Template.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you’ve got any other questions on this.
Rob
MemberCorey: this could be an issue with the Default Page Template. We’re working to fix that for release 2.1. In the short term, you should be able to fix it by changing to the Default Events Template under Settings –> The Events Calendar. Can you give that a shot and let me know if it fixes the issue?

MemberHi Barbara. We have the importer finished, and it’s currently in beta stages. If you’d be interested in testing it / providing some feedback, I’d be happy to give you a copy. Shoot me an email (rob at tri.be) if you want to proceed down that route.
We have had a few folks bring up the idea of an RSS-based importer, and we’ve kicked the idea around. Some advanced importers may come down the road but given the complexity of building them, we have nothing along those lines on the immediate roadmap.
Hope that helps and let me know if you need anything else.

MemberHey Jason. Are you sure you did the template override procedure (detailed as the first question under “Customization” in our FAQ, here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/is-it-possible-to-display-the-featured-image-at-full-height-in-the-event/)?
It could also be an issue with the code you included in the new template file. Are you able to get the single view back when you remove your updated template, so that it’s just calling the original?
Rob
MemberYou could possibly use a third-party plugin or some javascript to create a block for the main /events page, but there’s unfortunately nothing in the plugin that allows for this by default. If you hide the /events link from anywhere on the site, so that people could only access it if they manually typed the /events reference, couldn’t that eliminate this issue?

MemberHi Ashley. I’m not sure about this myself, but our developer Jonah may have some suggestions. Let me see what he can offer up – he’ll respond here directly.
