ParticipantWhenever I load the calendar view page, the month drop down populates with the previous month, rather than the current month. The links for previous and next month are accurate, however. So, it looks like [link]November [dropdown]November [link]January, when I look at the December calendar. Is this a known issue? Any fix?

MemberWhat permalink structure are you using, Michael? We have a bug in the current release where things get messed up (including at times the calendar dropdown) for users not running a pretty permalink structure, ie /%postname%/. Would you be willing to give that a shot and let me know if it fixes your issue or not? I can keep looking into it from there.

ParticipantMy permalink setting is at “Day and name.” Are you saying that I need to convert to a “Custom Structure”, and provide the tags I’d like such as /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ ?

ParticipantOkay, so just to follow up, my permalink structure is “pretty”. Currently set to /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/, and still having the issue.

ParticipantHi Michael,
That is strange… Can you give us some more details about your setup? What theme are you using and have you tried reverting to the default Twenty Eleven theme to see this if clears things up? If it does, its something with your theme that’s causing the issue. Same with plugins, try turning all your other plugins off/on to see if this fixes it and try to narrow down which plugin is causing the problem.
Try those two things to see if that could be the culprit and either way we’ll get this sorted out.
Thanks,

ParticipantSorry for the delay in getting back to you. Confirmed that the theme doesn’t impact anything. Switched to Twenty Eleven with no resolution. Went through and deactivated all plugins. By turning them on one at a time, was able to confirm that the “WP Forum Server” plugin is causing the issue. When activated, the issue shows up, when deactivated, it does not. Confirmed this again by re-enabling all other plugins, and toggling “WP Forum Server” with the same results. I’m guessing that I’m going to be sent towards that plugin for resolution. Let me know next steps.
Thanks,
Mike

MemberHi Michael,
I reviewed the WP Forum Server plugin and I have to recommend you stay away from it. It does a lot of things wrong within its code and it fact, for me (using WP 3.3.1 and Twenty Eleven) doesn’t even work at all. It follows bad coding/ WordPress practices and I wouldn’t be surprised if it had security vulnerabilities. In fact, I am going to see if I can report it to the WordPress.org plugin team to get it unlisted from the repository.
If you’d like a good forum plugin, give bbPress a try, it’s by the creators of WordPress and works really well: http://bbpress.org/.
You’re welcome to continue using ‘WP Forum Server’ but I’m afraid we won’t be able to support your use of it in conjunction with The Events Calendar.
Cheers!
