Single.php won't take effect

Hi there,
We’re using the premium plugin in a site of ours and we are struggling with making the single event view take effect.

What happens is we have a custom page template for events which show up here: http://thefringe.org.za/events/ and it will show up the same in a single event like here: http://thefringe.org.za/event/the-fringe-handmade-2/

It won’t show neither the default single.php on the plugin, nor the single.php on the events/ directory on our theme.

What’s the solution to this. Please advice.

Hey Jason. Are you sure you did the template override procedure (detailed as the first question under “Customization” in our FAQ, here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/is-it-possible-to-display-the-featured-image-at-full-height-in-the-event/)?

It could also be an issue with the code you included in the new template file. Are you able to get the single view back when you remove your updated template, so that it’s just calling the original?

I do get the single view when I revert to Default Event Template in the backend, but it shows up nothing, even though it’s a normal WordPress single file: http://thefringe.org.za/event/the-fringe-handmade-2/ What am I missing?

That’s odd. Let me see if our developer Jonah has any thoughts on this; he’ll chime in directly here.

Hi Jason, I assume you’ve got the latest version of the plugin or do tell, what version are you running?

Let me get this straight, you are using a custom page template for both your events calendar page and the single event pages? I don’t fully understand the explanation of your setup. Can you paste in some code samples and/or provide me FTP access so I can take a look? Email them to jonahcoyote [at] gmail [dot] com
