Alright, I was just able to recreate two similar issues in testing on Eric & Anthony’s sites.

For Anthony’s: the core issue that seems to be impacting most people here was present: I logged in, attempted to change a recurring event but upon hitting update, no pop-up appeared and the small “update” circle the publish box just kept spinning.

For Eric’s: the same problem happened, but I did see the popup that allows me to decide between All Future Events or just the current event. However, if I manually “X”d out of that box instead of selecting an option, the update circle did indeed keep spinning.

Let me know if anyone’s experiences differ from these two. Otherwise, Eric and Anthony, please leave those backend creds you emailed to me active for the time being so I can get one of our devs to troubleshoot this directly. Thanks all!

I’ve had a couple users (Anthony & Eric) email me their creds over the past 24 hours so no need for anybody else to at this point. I’m looking into what could be up on this front today.

Christina: sure, if such code is viable I can definitely have a dev offer that up in the short-term.

Hey again Stefan. Thanks for the note here; is it possible that you’re using a +UTC time zone setting? If so, there’s unfortunately a bug in the 2.0.3 code that was recently uncovered related to that. Here’s some more context on the issue: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/end-time/. We’re working through that now for the 2.1 release.

If that’s not the same issue, let me know and I’ll happily keep digging.

Excellent to hear. I’ll address the other thread accordingly…

Ah, I see. Thanks for confirming – I’m not sure what the issue here would be since we have tons of users running the plugin in different languages, and by and large they haven’t reported any bad experience. Have you tried opening the language file, modifying it a bit and seeing if your changes take? Does this happen if you use another, non-Italian translation file? I realize that you wouldn’t want to do so permanently; this would just be to test, as I’m unable to recreate this problem on my end.

Let me know if not and I can get a dev to take a look here. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

Hey Jim. Happy to take a look; based on your responses, it sounds like you’re doing everything right so I’m a bit stumped as to the cause. If you want to send me an email (rob at tri.be) with a link to this thread, your tri.be credentials and a set of backend credentials for the site, I’d be happy to give it a go. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

Thanks for confirming, replay. Glad to hear that wasn’t a bug with the plugin itself, but rather a conflict with another. Hopefully in 2.1 – since we’re changing the templating system quite a bit – it’ll integrate smoother with plugins like that one.

Community Events is just around the corner 🙂 We’re awaiting it’s release too, seems there’s a lot of demand there and can’t wait to see how our users respond.

Hi again Diego. Just a heads up that I got our devs to take a look at this, and it does indeed look like something was amiss… some of the strings were missing the text domain, so they were not being translated. .po is fixed and a new .mo file has been generated using PoEdit. We hardcoded the space in 2.1 so it can’t be omitted from the translation files by accident.

From there, we’ve patched an ECP 2.0.3 install with these new files and didn’t get any errors so we should be all set. You can download that here: http://cl.ly/3N1i3Q473h1x3I1p3x1U. Just replace the files attached in the events-premium folder (2 in lang, 1 in lib). Let me know if you’re still having any issues from there.

Hey Josh. Thanks for the feedback. To speak to your point about the premium plugin and not working 100%: we totally understand your position here. While it’s obviously impossible to get a plugin to integrate seamlessly with every combination of themes and plugins that exist out there, we try to do what we can to help integration issues such as this one when they arise. The templating structure will change enough in 2.1 that this will be a non-issue but until then we will try and help you out.

Let’s see if Jonah has any other suggestions after your last note here.

Hi Jim. No problem, we should be able to help you out here. Let me confirm a few things:

    * Are you on 2.0.3 of both releases (The Events Calendar AND Events Calendar PRO)?
    * Have you checked to make sure there isn’t a blank space at the beginning/end of the key you’re copying/pasting? That could throw the system out of whack if so.
    * Can you log in to tri.be with your credentials, go to Account Central -> License Keys and make sure the key appears and isn’t already linked to other sites?
    * And of course, just to confirm…you’ve verified that the computer has a live internet connection, right? (Had to ask).

Let me know on those points and I can keep looking into this for you as needed.

Thanks for the follow-up, Lynne. Not sure about the answer to that myself but let’s see if Jonah can offer up any suggestions. I’ve asked him to chime in directly if he does.

Ah, good question. That’s a bit outside my area of expertise but let me see if Jonah has any ideas. I’ll send this his way for review when he hits his next batch of forum threads tomorrow.

Thanks Anthony. I haven’t heard back from Eric as to whether I can get some backend creds to check this on his site, so the offer extends to any of the rest of you too…please let me know, as that’s the first step to helping track down and squash whatever pesky bug is causing this.
