MemberAwesome! Thanks Jonah.
Michelle: if you need anything else as you keep using the plugin (now that it’s functional and all!) just give us a shout. Thanks for your support and use of the plugin.
Rob
MemberHey Kylie. Interesting question. It’s a bit over my head but I’ve asked Jonah to take a look.
Rob
MemberHey Matt. Not at this point; the Community Events add-on will allow for event submission and the Eventbrite Ticketing add-on will allow for buying tickets/RSVPing to events — and depending on your needs either/both of those could potentially be hacked to accomplish booking. But there is no baked in method at this point unfortunately.
Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more. Let me know if you’ve got any other questions.
Rob
MemberExcellent! Happy to help, Thom. Glad to see you got that figured out. If anything else arises as you keep using the plugin, let us know.
Rob
MemberHey Edward. Thanks for the heads up here; interesting issue. Did you have your license key plugged in on the backend? Are you saying it’s telling you that 2.0.4 PRO is needed to run even the free The Events Calendar, or something else? Let me know…if you could post a screenshot it’d be awesome and would help us try to diagnose this.
Rob
MemberJohn/Shawn: excellent. Thank you both. While we’ve frozen the 2.0.5 feature list (it’s mostly bug fixes), we’re still planning 2.1/2.2 and this is all great to have as we do so. Lots coming up in the next few weeks both related to this plugin and it’s add-ons that we’re really excited for, and your contributions/suggestions along the way are largely to thank for that. Cheers!
Rob
MemberAh, thanks for confirming Beth. I know that multi-day/AJAX loader issue is definitely on the short-term roadmap but hopefully this will dig up some other tweaks along those lines we can make, so folks in your position have a fully-functional and smooth calendar 🙂
Cheers. Let us know what else we can do .
Rob
MemberHey Steven. Thanks for posting; and for confirming (via email) that resaving your permalinks didn’t do the trick. What’s weird is that when I test this exact same code on my default 2011 install no error occurs and that file downloads without issue.
A couple thoughts on this. First, have you reviewed this thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/webcal-subscribe-problems/) which seems to address this issue at one point? It’d be later on in the thread, around late February. See if you share any similarities with those guys?
I also know that our dev Joey is looking into this now. After reviewing the issue in that other thread we have come to a consensus that it’d be wise to review and rewrite part of the iCal function whilst taking into account the latest Google Calendar API documentation (http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/publish/). We’ll be doing that for the 2.1 release.
Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. Let me know after you’ve had a chance to digest the points above.
Rob
MemberHey Richard. Thanks for the follow-up. Odd, as this issue of the first event becoming the title of the calendar was something I thought we’d squashed. One thing you’ll definitely want to do is make sure that pretty permalinks are enabled on the site; that generally should resolve this first issue unless it’s a theme-specific conflict.
As for tweaking the “Upcoming Events” text, perhaps this comment I posted in a related thread would help you out (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/calendar-of-events-title-change/page/3/#post-16510)? Let me know if not and we can continue trying to troubleshoot as needed.
Rob
MemberHey Emmanuel. That’s a solid request, but unfortunately not doable in the current code. The only way to do it would be to have the event run from 7-12, and detail in the description field how “show one = 7-10, show two = 10-12.” That being said we are looking into custom recurrence patterns like this for the plugin’s 2.1 lifecycle and it’d probably carry some weight if you mentioned this in our Feature Requests thread here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/.
Apologies that I couldn’t offer up more in the short-term. If you have other questions or if we can do anything else here, please let us know.
Rob
MemberSlick looking site, Filip! If you share it in the “Showcase” thread it’d probably get seen by a whole bunch more folks: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/showcase-2-0/.
To answer your question here…have you tried using either the “Excerpt” field on the events creation page, or just the “Read More” link option from within the visual editor? If I understand your issue here then it sounds like one of those would be the most straightforward solution. Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick or if I’ve misunderstood your request here. Thanks!
Rob
MemberThanks for confirming, grupoakro. Bummer to hear that didn’t do the trick. At this point the best suggestion I’ve got would be to wait until the official 2.0.5 release, which is on track to be out within a week or two. Addressing the UTC time zone problem is a priority for that release so the fix should be deployed there.
Apologies I couldn’t offer up more in the short-term. If upon installing the official 2.0.5 code when it’s released, you find the issue persisting, please let us know and we’ll do what we can to rectify it with haste. And let me know what else I can do in the interim.
Rob
MemberHey Ayaz. Yup, it sounds like what you’re requesting will come when we release a beefed-up version of the calendar widget. Right now it is intentionally pretty bare bones; we added it so we’d have one in place for the 2.0 release but are intending on expanding it’s behaviors (including category selection as needed) as we keep going. You may be able to hack it together using the link above or other solutions on the forums but at this point there is unfortunately no official support for it.
Hope that helps. If you have other questions here do let me know.
Rob
MemberThanks Joey!
Corey: thanks for understanding here. If you have any other questions as you keep using the plugin please do let us know. We appreciate your support.
Rob
MemberHey John. Thanks for confirming. As nobody else running 2.0.4 has reported this it sounds like it’s a conflict specific to your install. So you have already tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to the 2011 theme, and find the situation persists even in that environment?
If so, please send a set of admin credentials and a link to this thread to pro /a/ tri.be, so we can try to look into this for you from there. Thanks!
