    Hi btellock,

Thanks for elaborating. There isn’t a built-in way to adjust when an event disappears from the widget or moves to the Past Events part of the calendar Views. It may be possible with some customization, but I can’t be sure. I’m not aware of any third-party plugins, but you might try experimenting with other plugins coupled with our free core plugin. Usually plugins that are compatible with The Events Calendar and also compatible with our premium Events Calendar PRO.

One plugin that may be helpful (although it’s a little different from what you’re describing here) is The Events Calendar Housekeeper which allows you to easily and automatically delete old events from your database. It’s particularly useful for if you have a lot of events and need to clean up and organize the backend of your site.

Does that answer your question? Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help out.

    Hi mending,

I appreciate that you went and posted that on UserVoice as Barry suggested in the previous thread. As you can see in our update there, we are actively working on this. However, we do not have a release date for this feature. We want to make sure the integration with Additional Fields is well built and thoroughly tested before we add it into the plugin, and that takes time. We appreciate your patience while we work on this.

    Hi Alexandra,

Thanks so much for getting in touch. I’m glad that we can provide you and your client with better support and stability!

We’ve had a number of users transfer over from Time.ly for some of the same reasons you mentioned. Some of these folks mentioned being able to export their calendars to a CSV file. We have a CSV importer built into our free core plugin, so that would be a great way to import your events. You didn’t mention .CSV as an option above, but I’m hoping that’s still available and would work for you. Please let me know how that works out! Best of luck for a smooth transition, and let me know if there’s anything we can do to help.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for your note- that sounds like a good idea! That is indeed photo view. It’s quite possible that you could replace the photo with an iFrame. You would need to do a template override on our /photo/single-event.php and replace the tribe_event_featured_image() call with your iframe code. We’d be happy to point you in the right direction if you post a thread in our PRO Forum. And we’d love to see the finished product when you’re done!

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for posting. At this time we do not have a way to import events by RSS or .ics. The three built in ways to import events are from Facebook (with our Facebook Events plugin), from Eventbrite (with our Eventbrite Tickets plugin) or from a .CSV file (with our free core plugin, The Events Calendar). Might one of those options work for you?

I’m not aware of any workarounds or third-party plugins, but it is possible that a plugin which brings RSS or iCal feeds in as Custom Post Types could be used. That kind of customization would be beyond us to assist with, however. Good luck! And let me know if there’s any other questions I can answer for you.

    Hello eliasgarcia,

Thanks for asking! I will do my best to help you. I will change each sentence into simple English and explain it.

First you need to know about our Recurring Events feature, which is part of Events Calendar PRO. Recurring Events allows you to make on event that happens on more than one day. For example, you could make an event that happens every week. You would only make 1 event, but it would be on your calendar every week. That is what this string is about.

Currently, ShoppTickets will only show up on the frontend once per full event.

Right now, ShoppTickets tickets only show tickets for one date of an event. So if there was a recurring event with happened every week for 2 months, you can only make tickets for the first of those event, not each one.

For PRO users this means the same ticket will appear across all events in the series.

If you also have Events Calendar PRO, the same ticket shows on all of the events in a Recurring Event series. So if you have a Recurring Event that happens 5 times, all five of those events on your calendar will show the same tickets you made for the first event.

    Please configure your events accordingly.

Please remember this when you make your events. (So that you do not show the wrong information to users).

I hope the above helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you with your translation.

    Hello makemyblogpretty,

Happily, you can change that number without having to dig into any code 😀 Go to Events –> Settings and on the first tab (General) you’ll see that Number of events to show per page is the first setting item. Whatever number you dictate there will control how many events show on your list-style Views (List, Day, Photo, and Map).

    Hello go4more,

Thanks for getting in touch! I can definitely see how you’d want to change that. Probably the best and easiest way to change the spelling would be to use a string-specific translation plugin like Say What? That will allow you to target the specific instances of the word, but without having to mess with the regular translation files. Hopefully that can help you “Britishify” your calendar 😀

    Hello Steve,

Thanks for your note. At this time, it is only possible to export one event at a time to Google Calendar. We do hope to add that feature in the future however. I’d love to have you add your votes to the UserVoice thread. Also, subscribing to that thread will give you updates if and when this becomes available. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Nick,

Thanks for your interest in Events Calendar PRO! At this time, it is not possible to make a random recurrence series like you’re looking for. The best option for you would be to duplicate the events with a post-duplicating plugin and then change the dates to suit your needs. Would that work for you?

We are working on making our Recurring Events feature more robust and flexible for situations like this. I’d love to have you add your votes to our UserVoice thread. You can also subscribe to that thread, which will be updated as we progress. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting in touch, and for thoroughly explaining what you’re looking for. Unfortunately, we do not have that kind of functionality at this time. You would need to make two separate but identical entries. Even with our regular Recurring Events functionality for different days, the events have different urls because we need to differentiate between the one on x date vs. y date. Those urls look something like /events/event_name/yyyy-mm-dd/.

We are working on making our Recurring Events feature more robust and adjustable for situations like this. I’d love to have you add your votes to our UserVoice thread. You can also subscribe to that thread, which will be updated as we progress. I’m sorry we can’t meet your exact needs, but perhaps we can in the future 🙂

Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.

    Hi Dawn,

Thanks so much for getting in touch, and for your interest in our plugins. I was particularly happy to see this thread as I am a rider as well! I’m afraid I lack the patience and precision for real dressage though 🙂

There are two good ways to get acquainted with the Events Categories. Firstly I recommend that you download our free plugin, The Events Calendar, and play with it a little. That will show you how the categories are presented and managed on the backend, and give you a chance to play around with the plugin a bit before deciding to buy Events Calendar PRO.

The second thing you can do is check out a few examples to see some of the different ways that people are using categories. We have our own dedicated demo site at wpshindig.com. Two other nice examples are <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>yerbabuenagardens.com/events/ and </span>chatterabq.org/calendars/.

The Events Calendar also has tags, which might be useful to you as well. If you have different kinds of events like clinics, shows, etc. you could choose to use the Event Categories to delineate the event type and then you could tag events as USDF, CWDS, etc. Categories are generally used for one or two major classifications, and tags are used to add other important keywords (ex. open, novice division, freestyle).

Hopefully the above will give you a good idea of whether our calendar would work for you. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, and I’d be happy to help out!

    Hello Sabrina,

Thanks so much for volunteering to help out! I haven’t heard anything from the other translator, so it’d be great to have you work on a Russian translation. Check out the Getting Started post where you’ll find the instructions and files you need. Then you can post your finished translation here for me to test and add. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hello Oyvind,

Wow, thanks so much for working on these! Did you make sure to update the file from the latest .pot file so that you would have all the strings needed? If you don’t know how to do that, you can follow the instructions in the Getting Started post.

You can upload the files using a service like Dropbox. Just be sure to upload the .po and .mo files for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO so that we get a full translation set. Once you’ve uploaded the files on Dropbox, you can provide the link to me so I can download them. I’ll test them out and reply to you here.

    Thanks so much for contributing!
