    Hi khidhaboy,

Ok, easy one first. While its a much requested feature, our plugins do not currently support shortcodes, so that’s not going to work for dropping a specific event in anywhere. If you’d like, you can add your vote over at our Feature Ideas page where shortcodes have already been mentioned a couple of times (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas?query=short%20codes).

As far as modding an event template, well, it’s WordPress – anything is possible! But that’s not something that our plugin does out of the box. It would require customization of the code to do that. And while I can’t help you with customizations, I can point you to our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) for information that can help you do so.

I hope I’ve answered your questions. If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know!

    Hey Debbie,

Thanks so much for checking out our plugins! I’m not sure I understand your question regarding the organizers though. Is that something you want to have displayed on the calendar? Or is it something you want to have on the backend for admins to choose from? Our Events Calendar PRO add-on does save a list of organizers on the backend so that if they’ve been entered once admins can just choose one from a drop down list.

And the CSV importer is a hotly requested item that we are working hard to include in an upcoming maintenance release. I can’t give any specifics on when that might be released, but the best way to be notified of releases is either to visit these forums frequently, sign up for our newsletter (at the bottom of http://tri.be), or connect with us on your favorite social media channel.

Did I answer your questions? Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Hey Justin,

Thanks so much for checking in! I’m sad to say that we’ve not yet resolved this, and that’s on us. But your request has it back on our radar. Sorry to let you down at the moment, but hang tight and we’ll see what we can put together to get this addressed.

    Hello Sean,

Thanks for your interest in our plugins! I have a couple of things for you. First, “where users can submit their race to my calendar” sounds like a perfect fit for our Community Events (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/) add-on. That gives you the ability to have people submit events and maintain as much or as little control over what goes on the calendar as you like. You can even give it a test run over at http://wpshindig.com/events/community/add.

The second thing is a bit more challenging. There is a basic search feature that’s part of The Events Calendar plugin, but we are working hard on getting a new add-on developed that would add a filter bar to the calendar that would probably give you a lot of the search capability you’re looking for, if you set your events up right. You can see a preview of it over at https://theeventscalendar.com/filter-bar-a-video-preview/.

And to be clear, neither of these add-ons requires Events Calendar PRO, they work just fine with the free The Events Calendar plugin. You would only need PRO if you were looking for the specific features added by that add-on.

Does that help clear it up? Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Hello argolab,

I’m sorry you’ve had troubles with our plugin. We never meant to mislead you, but you are correct that we are having ongoing troubles with Windows servers. I do really appreciate your comment about making a mention of it on the product and/or FAQ pages and will look into that.

To request your refund, please send an email to pro (at) tri.be and reference this thread. They will take care of you right away.

    Hey again Michael,

Due to the Facebook API restrictions, we can only import events from Facebook Pages or Organizations, not Facebook Profiles. If you set up your group with a Facebook Page, we could import events from there. You can go here https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/ to get that set up, if that’s the way you want to go.

Again, I apologize for the confusion. We do our best to communicate what the plugin can and can’t do. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve that, I’d love to hear them.

    Hi globemedia,

While I can’t help you with your customization, I can point you to our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and our Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) where you can find some information that should be a good resource for you.

Let me know if you need any further assistance in tracking down the relevant details.

    Hey samarainfocenter,

Crashed sites are never a good thing! I’ve not heard of any other reports of this, and since you’ve been having troubles with your server, perhaps that is the source of the difficulties. I do know Windows servers are problematic if by chance that’s what you are on. And perhaps your developer will help you track the issue down. Or your hosting provider.

One thing though, could you send your system information so I can take a quick peek? You can find that under Events > Help in the black box. Maybe there’s something there that we can spot.

    Hey jasonslomack,

Ooooh, never-ending meetings! That is not something we designed the plugin to handle, actually. Each event requires both a start and and end time, unless it’s an all-day event. So perhaps one work around would be to set up your events as all-day events and list the starting time in the title? Or set them all to end at midnight?

Again, this is not something the plugin is designed to do. Any solution is most likely going to be inelegant. Unless you’ve got a better idea?

I’m sorry the plugin doesn’t meet your needs in this case. Let me know if you figure something out.

    Hey gb,

We do our best to make update announcements on the blog and on social media, as well as here in the forums. You might want to tune into one of those channels to keep up with the latest improvements. Or you can sign up for our newsletter. You can do that way at the bottom of the Modern Tribe home page https://theeventscalendar.com/. I’m not set up to send a message specifically to you and if I tried, I’m pretty sure it would slip through the cracks. Best to tune in to one of the other communication channels.

I hope one of those will work for you.

    Hey Christine,

Have you discovered our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/)? There should be some helpful information in those.

Does the widget work correctly in a different location? Is it just the header that is problematic? Have you tried deactivating the other widgets and reverting to the default Twenty Eleven theme? Does any of that make a difference? Also, if you could include the system information found under Events > Help in the black box, that could be useful too.

Please try that, and let me know how it goes.

    Hi Jon,

I’m sorry we failed you in communicating the capabilities of the PRO plugin. Is there something we could have done better to make that more clear? In the product description or the new user tutorials perhaps?

To ask for a refund, please send an email to pro (at) tri.be and reference this thread. That will help them get you fixed up.

    Hi bmcofnc,

What a fun group! But it seems that it is tied to a a personal profile and not a group or organization page. Due to Facebook API restrictions, we can’t import events tied to personal profiles. We try our best to emphasize this on the product page, but obviously failed in communicating that fact to you.

If you would like a refund for the Facebook importer, please send an email to pro (at) tri.be and reference this forum thread. They can help you there.
