GuestHello, I am building a website for a client, and they want to use the event list widget in the header. This ends up being a problem, because if there are more than 3 or 4 events, the height becomes long and makes the site look odd. If there is not a way to control how many events appear in the widget list, I was thinking that the pro version may offer more versatility in the widget. Before we make the purchase, I wanted to make sure this is correct. I tried looking at the screenshots but it was not clear. Thanks!

ParticipantHi Christine,
That sounds like an interesting application. Have you tried changing the number of events to show per page? (Found under Events > Settings > General tab) That’s available on the free version. Let’s see if we can get that working as you may not need PRO.
Does that solve the problem for you?

GuestJulie! Thanks so much for your response. I did see this setting when I was trying to get this to work for us. I had changed it to 3, but I still see all of them coming through. I took a look at the code, and I see in the-events-calendar/lib/widget-list.class.php there is a $limit variable that’s set to 5. I tried changing it to 1, but this didn’t change anything. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or advice. Thanks so much! This is a great product, and I’m hoping we can just get it working as we need.

ParticipantHey Christine,
Have you discovered our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/)? There should be some helpful information in those.
Does the widget work correctly in a different location? Is it just the header that is problematic? Have you tried deactivating the other widgets and reverting to the default Twenty Eleven theme? Does any of that make a difference? Also, if you could include the system information found under Events > Help in the black box, that could be useful too.
Please try that, and let me know how it goes.
