ParticipantHi alzbetkai,
That’s a nice looking theme! Our plugins don’t use shortcodes, but you can find some information on how to change the templates in our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/). Also, I don’t you if you’ve tried changing the Events Template or the Default Stylesheet on the Events > Settings > Display tab. That can sometimes resolve some of those widget and heading issues.
Can you give that a try and see if it helps? If it doesn’t, can you try deactivating all other plugins and reverting to the Twenty Twelve theme to see if it has the same issues there?
Let me know what happens and we’ll take it from there.

ParticipantHi fnazeeri,
Well, the simple answer to your question is.. no. Our plugins are used around the world and many different holiday traditions are observed. I know it’s a pain, but the best way to deal with that is set up your recurring event and then check for conflicts with holidays and delete them when they occur.
Sorry it’s not more automated than that, but I hope it’s not too much trouble for you. If I can help with anything else, please let me know.

ParticipantHi thomasek,
The map view is awesome, isn’t it? Did you set it as the default view in the Event > Settings > Display menu? It won’t show up on your home page, but it should show up on your /events/ page.
Can you verify that you’ve done that for me? Did it solve the problem, or does it persist?

ParticipantHi Luca,
I’m sorry you weren’t able to get it working. Way to give it your best though. Please send your request, along with a link to this thread, to pro (at) tri.be. They’ll take care of you straight away!

ParticipantThanks morktron. I’m going to close this thread at this point. Vote casting, however, can continue!

ParticipantHi jrucker,
To make the changes you want should be fairly straightforward if you’re up to digging into the code. You can check out our tutorial here for some details: https://tri.be/relabeling-the-venueorganizer-sections-in-single-event-view/
Removing the cost field might also be able to be done through making some changes in the code, but you could also just set it to “free” as well.
Let me know if that helps or if there’s something else I can point you to.

ParticipantHey Joseph,
That would be awesome! But the maps that are part of the plugin come from Google who controls how they look. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen them modified, but if it’s possible the information would have to come from Google. Dare I say Google it? 🙂
If you have any success, please let me know! Or if I can answer any other questions for you.

ParticipantAwesome morktron! Thanks for sharing that. And let’s see how many votes that feature idea can rack up!

ParticipantHey there Daniela,
You’ve got a great idea there for adding sharing buttons to events, but it isn’t something that’s currently part of the plugin. We have add-ons that allow importing from Facebook, but not the other way round. That’s actually a really good idea that I’d love you to add to your voice to our Feature Ideas page (https://tribe.uservoice.com/search?filter=merged) regarding that.
If you’re looking to modify the design of the page, our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) has some useful information for you. You might even be able to figure out how to add those social sharing buttons yourself! There’s more technical information over at Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) which might be helpful too.
If there’s anything else I can help with, please let me know!

ParticipantHey there Curtis,
I’m sorry you couldn’t find what you were looking for. (Sometimes I have a hard time too. 🙂 )
I can see why you might want the features you are asking for, but many of them are not included out of the box. WooCommerce Tickets is a plugin that depends on WooCommerce for many of its features, and those are beyond our control. Things like your max purchase of one, adding fields that need to be completed as part of the purchase/registration process, and payment options aren’t something that it can do straight away. You might want to check the WooCommerce site to see what options they allow for. What our plugin does is essentially create WooCommerce products (we call them tickets) and attach them to events in the calendar.
I’m not quite sure what your application is, but it sounds a bit more like booking than a calendar. Have you checked out those types of plugins to see if they’d fit your needs?

ParticipantHey there Luke,
You’ve got some great ideas there in questions 1 & 2, and they’re completely do-able, but it would require customization to do it. If you’d like to check out our resources in the Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) you can see what would be involved to put that together.
Your last question is better asked on The Events Calendar PRO forum (if you’ve purchased the PRO add-on) or over at http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/ for The Events Calendar. They’ll be better able to help you get that sorted.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can assist with anything else.

ParticipantHello MichaelD,
Gotcha covered on the multiple postings. 😉
Having customers pay to submit events has been mentioned a handful of times, but isn’t a highly-demanded feature and not our highest priority at the moment. I understand that it would be very useful to you though. But as Leah said in the other post, that would be custom work which is beyond our scope. I can give you a few leads on developers you could contact, if you’re interested. But I’m not aware of any services that do what you’re looking for, however that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.

ParticipantHello again bmcofnc,
The black box we are referring to is at the bottom of the Events > Settings > Help tab. You might have to scroll down a ways to get to it. It sounds like you were very close! And it’s your choice if it’s private or not. It’s mostly a list of plugins and setting specific to your system.
So, trying to sort out all the information here, the time zone is correct if you enter an event directly in WordPress, but comes in -8 hours if imported from Facebook? That is, Facebook time is 7:00 pm, but imported time is 11:00 am?

ParticipantHello jfeisabel,
Hmmm… let’s see what we can figure out here. I am able to import that event here, so it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the Facebook API. I’m guessing your site is still in development since I can’t reach it. Have you tried disabling the other plugins and reverting to the Twenty Twelve theme to see if there are conflicts?
