template for calendar view – where can I change it

I am trying to change our WP theme to Aundance http://www.kriesi.at/themes/abundance/. The page is currently on staging http://bedmintonov.staging.wpengine.com/udalosti/ and my problem is, that I can not remove the left sidbar widget. Additionaly I can not change the h1 heading to be different as the upcoming event name. http://awesomescreenshot.com/05a1zozvb8

Can you help me to solve this problem? There is no Page with shortcode, which adds the calendar, so I can not make changes to the page itself. Is there any workaround for this. I would like to have a fullsize calendar on calendar page.

Hi alzbetkai,

That’s a nice looking theme! Our plugins don’t use shortcodes, but you can find some information on how to change the templates in our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/). Also, I don’t you if you’ve tried changing the Events Template or the Default Stylesheet on the Events > Settings > Display tab. That can sometimes resolve some of those widget and heading issues.

Can you give that a try and see if it helps? If it doesn’t, can you try deactivating all other plugins and reverting to the Twenty Twelve theme to see if it has the same issues there?

Let me know what happens and we’ll take it from there.

Hi Julie,
when I choose the Events Default Template, the page looks like this http://awesomescreenshot.com/0911ztdj9e – so as you can see the calendar is too wide.

When I changed to twenty twelve theme the calendar page looked like http://awesomescreenshot.com/0ee1ztfm22 , so it looks like it is not compatible with my template.

What shall I do now?

Hey alzbetkai,

If the issue is caused by your theme, I can’t help you much there. You’ll want to talk to your theme developer to see if they can make the needed changes.

But looking at your screenshots, I’m not sure I see the problem. The calendar looks pretty good to me, except maybe some padding around the grid? If that’s all you’re looking to change the Themer’s Guide mentioned earlier might help. And while it’s for a completely different issue, our snippet for the mini-calendar might be helpful – but it would be reverse for you – add padding, not take it away.

Does that get you headed the right direction?
