ParticipantHi,
I’ve installed your plugin and follow all the instruction about Facebook ID and key. It does register but no event are imported. When I try the manual operation I have the following message : (from french to english translation)
“The following errors have occurred:
Either the event with ID 647079485312387 does not exist, is marked as private on Facebook or we couldn’t reach the Facebook API
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported. The following errors have occurred during importing images:
URL indicated is not valid.
Please note that this does not effect importing of associated events unless noted.”One of the page I try to connect with is ToshindoQc

ParticipantHello jfeisabel,
Hmmm… let’s see what we can figure out here. I am able to import that event here, so it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the Facebook API. I’m guessing your site is still in development since I can’t reach it. Have you tried disabling the other plugins and reverting to the Twenty Twelve theme to see if there are conflicts?

ParticipantHi Julie,
I’ve just tried to disable all of my widgets and put back on Twenty Twelve theme. Same thing. Only result I had to reconfig all my page widgets. Not that bad.
My site is online. It’s http://toshindo-quebec.com.

Participantjfeisabel,
So, this is the event you’re trying to import: https://www.facebook.com/events/647079485312387
And you’ve put the event ID (647079485312387) in the Events > Import: Facebook area (http://d.pr/i/pWbe). And then you get the error message you mentioned earlier. Is that correct?
I did get to your site, but it looks like you’ve got a custom template in place on the /events/ page. Have you checked your database to see if the event is in there, but just not being displayed on your site?
Also, it’s always helpful to send the system information found in the black box at the bottom of the Events > Settings > Help tab. Could you include that in a message? Private message if you prefer.

ParticipantHi jfeisabel,
Ah, the black box is if you have the PRO plugin, so never mind about that. I did get a 404 error when I went to that link, but I did see some events at http://toshindo-quebec.com/events/. Have you installed the French translation files (found at https://theeventscalendar.com/translations/)?

ParticipantSo are the events I’m seeing at http://toshindo-quebec.com/events/ imported from Facebook? Or did you enter them in WordPress directly? I’m wondering if the difference in the URL ( http://toshindo-quebec.com/events/ != http://toshindo-quebec.com/evenements/ ) is what’s causing the “URL indicated is not valid” message.

ParticipantWell no. Those events were creating in the last years as post and their categorie is events. You can see ‘Archive events’ in the h1. The configuration in your plugin is evenements. So, I’ve deleted the post categorie events. Still not working.

MemberHey jfeisabel. Rob from Modern Tribe here. I’m honestly a bit unsure as to how much more help we can provide here – both Julie and I have tested this separately on our own test sites and the event imports without issue.
Can you confirm that you have a valid Facebook App ID/Secret in place, and that you have permission to write to the “media library” so the events can import properly?

ParticipantHi Rob,
I just deleted my app on FB and created a new one like suggest in your post https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-create-a-facebook-app-id/. Doing so, I have put the App ID and secret in the Facebook setting. Note that the FB app is in sandbox mode. I’ve follow the post instructions exactly.
For the server, I have full access to the website folder. I can write and delete.
The importation is still not working. I just hope that it’s not a simple ‘check box’ case or something similar.
Is it possible to do a live access with you directly. I have a lot of event to configure and you plugin would realy be helpfull. The Eventbrite one is the next. I need to have the first one functionnal first.
Thank you for the following your are doing. You have a good support.

MemberHey again jfeisabel. Thanks for the follow-up here, and apologies for the delayed reply on my end — you posted just as I’d headed out for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Why don’t you shoot me an email, rob @ tri.be, and I’ll see if I can troubleshoot this for you? I can’t guarantee anything and would need both a set of backend/admin credentials and your written approval that you don’t mind me jumping in and attempting some test imports…but that may allow me to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks again for your patience.
