BlockedHi Sorin,
I definitely apologize if there was any misunderstanding. Both of the threads are related to user roles so I thought it would be easier to focus our conversation here.
To summarize what I understand the issue to be between the two threads, you’re looking for a user role that can publish and edit events but can not edit categories, venues, or organizers.
I’ve tried to accomplish this with the Membership plugin but also ran into the same issue where the event meta boxes could still be edited even with the limited roles. I’ll log this with our dev team and have them take a look at the behavior.
In the mean time, you should be able to accomplish this by recreating the meta box template and removing what you don’t want your specific user role to have access to. For example:
Or perhaps an even simpler solution will be to remove the meta boxes with CSS:

The snippet is specific for the role of “editor” but you can change it in a number of different way with the current_user_can function.

BlockedThanks Daniel! We’ve got our eyes on getting this updated in a future release. I don’t have an exact time frame for you quite yet though. I’m going to make a note to follow up with you here once I have more info about it.
I’m happy you’ve found a work around for the time being and thanks again for all your help and for reporting the issue! Thanks so much for your patience.

BlockedHi Katie,
I apologize for the late follow up but I just wanted to give you kudos for following up with me. 🙂

BlockedHi Luciane,
It’s good to hear from you! From what you’ve described, it does sound like the theme’s template isn’t allowing those Jetpack modules to load. The function mentioned in the knowledge article probably won’t have an effect on the comments form but it might help get the social icons to display. You’ll want to place this at the bottom of your theme’s functions.php file:
https://gist.github.com/jamigibbs/c4c86cc47adac78a9ccb
As for the comments, first check that you have comments enabled for your events at:
Events > Settings > General > Show Comments
If that doesn’t do it for you, let me know and I’ll see if there are some other avenues we can try.

BlockedHi Kristen!
Thanks for coming by and for considering the Pro version! I’m happy to help out:
We will be selling physical items through an online store as well as seats in classes and tickets to events. I imagine the latter two items can be accommodated by Events Calendar Pro. I am thinking we will need a combination of Events Calendar Pro and the WP E-Commerce Tickets add on. Can you confirm that this combination best suits our needs? Also, I am unclear if the pricing is per year or a one-time charge?
You’ll be able to sell both physical and digital (tickets) prodcuts with either the WooCommerce, WP e-Commerce, or Shopp. I think you may even be able to accomplish this with Easy Digital Downloads but it might require an additional extension on their part. Ultimately it’s going to come down with whichever system you prefer.
Can we manually update the number of tickets available through Events Calendar? Sometimes tickets are sold offline and we will need to update inventory manually.
Absolutely. You can always go back into your ticketed event and adjust the ticket stock number.
What are the options as far as recurring events? For example, we offer multi-day classes that will repeat monthly (but with different sets of students each month). Will it be possible to clone or repeat these events but have each have their separate registration/sign up?
You have quite a bit of flexibility with recurring events. You’ll be able to setup monthly recurrences with a different set of tickets for each month (for a different set of students). If you’d like to get more specific about the event reoccurrence, I’ll be happy to double check the capabilities.
During the testing period of the new WP site, will it be possible to run test transactions without actually charging a credit card/Paypal account?
This might be a little different depending on the ecommerce system you choose but, for example, WooCommerce you can test purchase by check or bank transfer (without actually submitting bank details), or, you can create a Paypal Sandbox and run test transactions via Paypal that way.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,

BlockedHi Justin,
Thanks for getting in touch! This might be as simple as applying a bit of CSS:
#tribe-events .date-end { display: none; }Let me know if that sorted it out for you!

BlockedHi Sorin,
That sounds like an interesting case. You might want to have a look at our knowledgebase article on Admin Roles and Permissions if you haven’t seen that yet. We recommended using the Members plugin for role and capability management. Perhaps that will help you accomplish this?

BlockedHi Sorin,
I’ve picked up your first support thread and to keep things organized, I’m going to close this one and continue our discussion over there. 🙂

BlockedHello Bianca!
That sure is a quirky little glitch.
I’d like to try to run through some preliminary checks to see if we can narrow down the root cause. First I’d like to try switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen and then disabling all plugins except Tribe Events plugins. Once you’ve done that, check if the “Add to Cart” button is working.
I suspect it may be the way that the theme is handling the mobile view but I want to make sure we cover all our bases first.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind Regards,
JamiJami
BlockedHey Chris,
hmmm, that sure is odd. My first thought here is that there may be some browser or server caching going on.
Let’s start by running through some preliminary checks to see if we can narrow down the root cause. If you could go ahead and first switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen and then disable all plugins except Tribe Events plugins. After doing that, check if the tickets prices have updated.
Let me know how that goes for you.
Kind Regards,
JamiJami
BlockedHey there Dawn!
I can help troubleshoot this with you. I’ve just gone through some testing for the mini calendar using a default theme (Twenty Twelve) and wasn’t able to replicate any issues with it in mobile. Maybe you can be a little more specific about what you’re seeing on your end?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind Regards,

BlockedHey Brian!
I’m happy to help out here. Thanks for trying out the installation on a different domain. That was a good first step. Next, have you had a chance to look at this Fixing HTTP 4040 Errors doc? Let’s try going through those steps next and see if it resolves it for you.
Let me know how it goes!
Kind Regards,

BlockedHello there!
That’s a really great question. That structured data is being generated from the follow location:
/the-events-calendar/lib/Google_Data_Markup.php
That info is added to your event page so that Google (and possibly other search engines) can understand the data that your page contains. Once Google understands the data on your site, it can be presented more attractively in search results. Have a look at the example Google has provided in their About Structured Data Markup Helper page.
You can actually see the rich search result for your event in action right now:
So essentially, folks searching Google that come across your events may potentially see them in a much more attractive way which may improve your site’s traffic.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else.
Kind Regards,
JamiJami
BlockedThat’s great to hear! I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved but please feel free to open up a new one if you have any other questions. 🙂
