    Hi Carole,

I’m sorry to bear this news, but at this time there is unfortunately no such simple step-by-step process for this. 🙁

We’re working on better support for this feature, as it’s something folks ask about it quite often, but at this time it would require custom coding outside the scope of the support we can provide to implement this sort of notice.

Sorry to disappoint! Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hey Kate,

Thanks for reaching out, and for your feedback here. Adding coverage for that URL structure is an excellent idea, though hasn’t been as straightforward to implement thus far as it might seem.

I can confirm two things, however:

    1. This is something we’re actively working on! 😀 We’re working on adding support for the staging sties of many popular hosts, including WP Engine, Flywheel, GoDaddy.

    2. You do not need a license for any functionality. Not having a license will not impede testing in any way. A license only signs up a domain name for support and updates, it does not affect how the plugin actually works (except for Event Aggregator—this is the only licensed product of ours where the license is required for functionality).

So hopefully you can manually update your plugins on the staging site for the time being, and test on it successfully — the absence of the license key here will not affect the actual functionality in any way.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. These forums here are our “Pre-sales Questions” forums, so we unfortunately cannot field technical support questions here.

It doesn’t currently appear that you have a premium license with us. If this is wrong, and you do have a premium license with us, then apologies for my misunderstanding!

However, in that case please log into the account on this site that has your premium license, and then post this question in a premium support forum.

If you indeed do not have a premium license, then please post your question in our free support forums here → http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar

We check those forums a bit more than once per week, so hopefully we will be able to get to your question there.

    Thank you,
    George

Thanks for reaching out, Benjamin. I agree with your assessment of things personally, and have filed a ticket for our developers to investigate and evaluate this issue.

I don’t have a specific outcome based on the report yet, but it’s in the hands of our developers now and I will update this thread with any news about a release in the future that addresses this.

If you don’t see an update on this thread, there’s no news—but I can assure you I will update this thread when there’s news to share! 😀

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey Saffron,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m really sorry to hear this.

If the Connections Business Directory plugin breaks the calendar, this means the Connections Business Directory plugin itself is the source of conflicting code that is breaking the calendar functionality.

I would recommend opening a support ticket with the developers of the Connections Business Directory plugin—they should be able to help identify why their plugin is breaking another plugin.

In the meantime, can you try seeing if errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:

    define('WP_DEBUG', false);

    to this:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.

↑ Once you’ve made this change, ensure The Events Calendar and Connections Business Directory are both active — then go to the /events/ page and see if any error messages show up there.

Copy and paste the complete error messages you find and paste them here — this will help us investigate this from our end, meaning that both their support team and our support teams will be investigating this, which will hopefully lead to some insight into the problems. 😀

    Thanks!

    Hey Lindsay!

    Thanks for reaching out.

When you have Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus active at the same time, you have two “Ticket Types” you can choose from for any given ticket:

    • WooCommerce Ticket — this one is what runs through the WooCommerce checkout system, so you can charge money for it, etc.
    • RSVP Ticket — this is always free and is a simple “Going” / “Not Going” response, which you may already be familiar with because this is what Event Tickets provides.

☝️ Now, if you make a WooCommerce Ticket that costs $0.00 (i.e., it’s free), then yes, it will still make the user go through the WooCommerce checkout process.

However, an RSVP Ticket will not ever go through the WooCommerce checkout process.

    I hope this helps!

    Hey David,

I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations with moving forward on your customizations and hope to help resolve this thread.

I can totally sympathize with where you’re coming from—asking for specific functions and class methods may not “feel” like asking for customization support.

But it often can be. Let’s take your last sentence in the above reply for example:

I don’t want you to customise, I am happy to do that, seemingly simple questions are too tough to answer like ‘How do I get the total number of tickets ever on sale for an event’, tell me and I can take it from there!

☝️ How would we be able to answer this question—”How do I get the total number of tickets ever on sale for an event”—without providing the actual custom code necessary to achieve this?

When you ask, “How do I get the total number of tickets ever on sale for an event”, if you are not asking us for the specific code necessary to do this, what information are you asking us to provide in relation to this question?

To be clear, my intent here is to help us clarify this conversation and help it move forward—if we are misunderstanding your requests, hopefully my questions here will help us better understand your requests and provide the type of support you would like.

    Sincerely,
    George

Hey Colm, I’m very sorry for the delayed response here!

I was in dialogue with some developers on our team about your question, because I admittedly did not know the answer myself. It turns out that this is likely not possible, given a number of details about the Meetup API.

You may be able to implement some fairly-extensive modifications to our plugin’s code to tweak how it contacts the Meetup API, and the exact behavior you describe may be possible, but there’s unfortunately no out-of-the-box way to achieve what you describe at this time. 🙁 We’re not able to help with custom coding, unfortunately, but if you want to tinker with the Meetup API integrations, you can write that custom code yourself or hire a professional developer to do it for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks—they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).

Sorry to disappoint here, @Colm—and again, apologies for the delayed reply. I hope this information helps you move forward with your project.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hi Jeanette.

There is no way to access application statuses or to expedite the process—we review each application carefully and, especially when there are many applications like there are now, it can take up to a week or even longer for an official response.

I do apologize if this creates angst, and appreciate your patience. Please stay tuned to your email inbox for an official response. It will arrive.

If you have any further questions about our Nonprofit Partnership Program, please note that it is best to email us about it at support at theeventscalendar cot com—please use this method instead of posting in the forums.

    Thank you!

    Hey @ELOISA,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We unfortunately can’t offer any assistance or guidelines on creating custom themes, templates, plugins, code, etc—we only provide technical support for our plugins as defined on this page ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/

The features you are trying to implement are possible, but would require many code customizations to implement.

So to implement the features you describe, you would have to write that custom code or hire a professional developer to do it for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks—they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).

I hope this information is helpful—please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

Thanks for reaching out, Steve. At this time, it is not possible to show ticket quantities and “Sold out!” statuses in the Month View without custom coding, which we are not able to help with even for folks with premium licenses (read more about that here).

As for adding tickets to carts without seeing the event, this may be possible if you have the tickets displaying in your general WooCommerce shop page. You would have to tinker with WooCommerce, not our products. This WooCommerce guide should be helpful in revealing the tickets as Products that are purchasable without being on the events:

Please note, however, that you can only ever create tickets from within the wp-admin edit screen of events. You cannot create tickets anywhere else within the wp-admin no matter what your WooCommerce settings are.

    Cheers!

    Hi Scott,

    Sorry for the trouble here.

We can totally help out, no worries. Can you please clarify the following details:

    1. What is the new license that you want to have?

    2. The renewal you purchased was for your Events Calendar Pro Business License. Can you confirm if you would like me to refund this order, which would then make this Events Calendar Pro Business License expired?

    Thanks!

    Hi Fraser,

Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest in our plugins! 😀

Check out this Knowledgebase guide of ours ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/do-you-have-a-demo-examples-i-can-see-or-trial-licenses/

☝️ That covers our various demo site/trial/etc. options completely and should be helpful.
