ParticipantHi there, I’m not sure why but just this last week, the Connections Business Directory plugin seems to disable the events calendar when activated. They worked fine together before. I established it was the Directory because I disabled all plugins then turned them on again one by one to see what was causing a blank page on http://www.whatsoninourbackyard.com.au/events/
Is there any known way of fixing this so I can continue to use Connections Business Directory

ParticipantHey Saffron,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m really sorry to hear this.
If the Connections Business Directory plugin breaks the calendar, this means the Connections Business Directory plugin itself is the source of conflicting code that is breaking the calendar functionality.
I would recommend opening a support ticket with the developers of the Connections Business Directory plugin—they should be able to help identify why their plugin is breaking another plugin.
In the meantime, can you try seeing if errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.
↑ Once you’ve made this change, ensure The Events Calendar and Connections Business Directory are both active — then go to the /events/ page and see if any error messages show up there.
Copy and paste the complete error messages you find and paste them here — this will help us investigate this from our end, meaning that both their support team and our support teams will be investigating this, which will hopefully lead to some insight into the problems. 😀
Thanks!

ParticipantHi – thanks for your message. I have got in touch with Connections support.
I have tried to do what you suggested via FTP, but it won’t let me download the wp-config file to make that change. it just says ‘Failed to save ‘/wp-config.php’ locally.’ – any suggestions?
Thank you

ParticipantHi @Saffron,
I’m not sure why that is happening with the wp-config.php file — I would recommend asking your web host about this, there may be a permissions error on the server or something similar to that.
Thank you for your patience and persistence with this!

ParticipantHi George, I got in touch with the host and they sorted it out for me. Everything is now working as it should. Thanks for your help. Saffron

ParticipantGlad to hear it Saffron!
Just to be totally clear so I don’t prematurely close this thread, when you say that everything is sorted out, do you mean just in regards to your wp-config.php file? And so your issues with that error message persist?
Or you mean that the error message itself—and its cause—have been resolved by your host?
Just want to be certain before I close this thread.
Cheers!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
