    Hello,

I cannot produce any of these problems myself, so I’m curious, if you head to Events > Settings > Community Events, what are all your settings for Community Events on that page? Share a screenshot if possible.

    Thank you for your patience!

    Thanks for the update Rachel.

For items where you’re unable to change the background color, it could be caching again that is preventing these updates (for which resetting the cache might help), or adding !important to those rules might help.

Best of luck with these customizations!

if payments are NOT manually approved, and that makes the stock control work normally, then the problem ought to go away when I link the site to the business PayPal account. Would you say that was right?

    Hey Pete,

Your description of things as I quoted them above does, indeed, sound accurate. In other words: there seems to be a set of known bug-behavior with manual processing. However, no such issues are reported with other methods at this time, and I cannot reproduce them.

    I hope that helps!

Thank you for the heads-up on this Michael! We will update our translations site as soon as possible to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

    Thank you!

Hi Cindy, I’ll address your items in order:

    1. To import the events from Excel that include tags and cost: I would like to be able to import in Tags but see I can’t do that unless I try a WP import per above. I also wanted to import in “Form of event”. (Conference, Online, etc) I saw I could import in Cost with the built in import tool, and I read that I could change the taxonomy which I did. The issue is I can’t find a way to add the fields I need. I.E. Conference, Online, etc.. Is this possible?

It sounds like you’re describing importing additional post meta on events (or taxonomy meta on taxonomies), which is not possible without using a third-party WordPress plugin of some kind that enables this.

    2. It does not appear that the filter bar will allow me to pick two items to narrow the search I.E. Conference AND Angels and only get that kind of item. Instead it just pulls in EVERY conference plus angels so not ones dealing ONLY with Angels.

Filter Bar should work fine with selecting multiple filters – it’s possible that there’s some theme or plugin conflict here preventing that from happening, but we can address this later based on whether you want a refund or not.

    3. I have Uber Menu and can create flyout menus there for the sub-parents that are important but I still need a way for folks to pick ‘Form of Event” so back up to issue one.

I’m not quite sure how Uber Menu relates to event categories here, and I apologize for that misunderstanding. If your “forms” of event are simply Event Categories, then those categories should be usable in any WordPress navigation menu like any other taxonomy. If Uber Menu itself prevents this from happening, however, then there may not be much we can do within our own codebase to improve that.

If there is not a way to modify the cost section of the filter bar so that I can import via CSV, and/or pick several items from the Events section to narrow down the events, then the filter bar is truly not going to do anything that I need and would be a waste of money.

You can modify the Filter Bar plugin yourself in any number of ways, however, we do not offer support for such customizations. So that may mean that, yes, it is not practically useful for you – but just wanted to point out that might be technically possible 🙂

If I don’t use the filter bar, I can still use categories and Uber Menu for folks to narrow down their searches?

I hinted at this above, but, it depends – I cannot speak for Uber Menu itself, because for all I know, it could be totally hijacking the default WordPress menu system and even be full of bad code that ruins the default functionality. But the default functionality of WordPress navigation menus does indeed support custom taxonomies. In other words, they allow you to add category items to the menus. If you have “Barbecue”, “Concert”, and “Cruise” as Event Categories, for example, then with the default WordPress navigation menu system, you could each word there as an item in a menu – then, when clicked, it would lead to an Events display of only events in that category.

That is the default configuration of WordPress navigation menus and our default Events category archive feature.

At this point is it too late to get the filter bar refunded? I really did ask a lot of questions and explained my needs in pre-sales so I thought this was going to work. Many hours later and a large hole in the wall from where I was banging my head, I still don’t have a workable solution.

When did you buy the plugin? If getting a refund is your top priority at this point, please forward your original email receipt to [email protected] – we’ll handle the refund from there 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Charmaine,

Thanks for sharing that information. You will definitely need to upgrade here before we can proceed any further – the mis-matched version numbers alone could be the source of most, if not all, of your issues here.

If you don’t get update notices in your site admin area, you should be able to log in any time at http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads and get the latest versions of all licensed plugins 🙂

Get the latest versions, install them on your site, add your license key back in, and let us know if that helps!

Cheers – and thanks for your patience.

    Hi rv1000,

Sorry about your problems here! I tried going to your first link and was met with a 500 internal server error → https://cloudup.com/cP6g6bpUg02

As for the widget issues, have you made any customizations to the widget at all?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

I went to http://www.pappystexasbarbeque.co.uk/events/ and it seems the Tribe events calendar is working fine there – if you want a different view to display than the current view (which is the Photo view), you should able to adjust this by heading to Events > Settings in your admin and changing the “default view” option to something like “Month”, “Week”, etc.

As for the widget – where specifically are you trying to add the widget? Can you link to the page on your site whose sidebar you’re trying to populate with this widget?

    Thank you!

    Hi Cindy,

I apologize for the delayed reply, I was working closely on the new product release that just shipped and the new updates to this website itself that also just shipped.

Further, in essence here your question is a customization that you need to make on your site. We do not offer any support for customizations. As noted, the code in that original thread that you referenced was posted by the customer themselves, not us, so I can’t confirm its efficacy for use on your site to achieve your goals here.

I would have to think that having the sub-categories only dropping down when the parent is picked would be a basic function for the filter bar.

I’m sorry that this isn’t the current functionality, but agree with you that it should be quite standard in the plugin. I will pass this feedback along, and while I can’t say when the next Filterbar release will come out, hopefully we can improve this aspect of the plugin over time.

Is there anyway to upload tags from Excel?

You might able to import the tags as a taxonomy, either right through WordPress’ Importer or with another plugin out there in the wild, but there is not built-in functionality for this with The Events Calendar or any of its add-ons.

As for organizing a large quantity of events, can you elaborate a bit on what your concerns are here? Now, there are few concerns with, say, the List View. However, something like the Month View handles large numbers quite well – only a few will show for the day, with a “Load more” link beneath them.

Further, you could write custom CSS to modify your site’s design to better accommodate such large amounts of data.

I’m having trouble thinking of URLs off the top of my head, but yes, we’ve seen a good number of sites that deal with very large amounts of events. It’s rarely a problem, or at least one that is any different than how you’d handle large amounts of any type of data on a site: turn to the site design itself and shape it to accommodate that amount of information.

I hope some of the information here helps – I’m preemptively sorry if it doesn’t, and hope you elaborate on why it doesn’t help so I can give an answer another shot 🙂 I’m also sorry for the delayed reply. We’re usually very good about replying to everything in under 24 hours, I’m sorry that slipped up this week thus far.

    Cheers,

    Hey Pablo,

Events can be submitted with Events Calendar: Community Events, but I do not know how they enable actual ticket submission.

    Hey Robert-Jan,

This could be because of the Dutch translation itself being outdated, which could happen if it’s based on an outdated .pot file – this could mean that it looks fine in poedit but, as you mentioned, is referencing the wrong line numbers in the code and such.

Please check the Dutch translations for your plugin on translations.theeventscalendar.com and look for updates, and/or bad translations that you can correct. We approve as fast as possible and are working urgently to bring all the files up to speed.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi Jacob,

The language itself might not have had all its new strings approved – that’s the most likely source of the problem.

If it still seems funky, check out the translations.theeventscalendar.com site manually and see the strings for your language. If there are missing or badly-translated strings, it will lead to problems like you see here.

    Cheers,
    George
