Hello
As I have update to 3.10 event calendar and event calendr pro I have wrong translations, a mix of french and english:See here : http://176.31.175.27/concerts/
“Upcomming événements” in the metakey title
In the page:
“Upcomming événements” instead of “Événements à venir”
“Find Événements” instead of “Chercher des événements”
“Next Événements” instead of “Prochains événements”
“Previous Événements” instead of ” Événements” précédents”
“+Export listed Événements” instead of “Exporter les événements sélectionnés”I have not found any sentence like this in the .po files
Any help ?
Best regards
Pascal Derathé
[email protected]June 17, 2015 at 12:38 pm #970203TrevorGuestI’m having the same issue. String translations exist in WPML but the strings are not appearing on the live site.
June 17, 2015 at 3:16 pm #970779MatthewGuestThat is because the .PO and .MO are not up to date with the .POT
I had the same issue in dutch. Today I’ve been working on translating and updating these files and then it works. So either you edit your .PO files yourself or wait for an update I guess?
June 18, 2015 at 5:05 pm #971175GeorgeParticipantHi folks,
Sorry about the delay here. The 3.10 update did break some translations – this often happens with major updates, and though a bit of a pain in the short-term, in the long-term the changes we’ve made are for the better.
If you’re interested in fixing the current translations, we’ve just launched a whole new process for translations and have two write-ups about how to use the new process here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/changing-the-language-on-your-calendar/And here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-or-updating-a-translation/Hopefully both articles will bring you up to speed on our new translations site – let us know if they do, or if you have any other questions or concerns! 🙂
Thanks,
GeorgeJune 22, 2015 at 5:18 am #971791AgenceParticipantSame problem here.
My customers aren’t very happy of this.
Is it serious for au premium plugin to push a new release before being sure it’s correctly translated?Thank you very much to push a corrective asap.
June 22, 2015 at 5:21 am #971793AgenceParticipantWhat’s more, we can’t contribute to the translation project as it’s not french but finnish on the french page : http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects/events-pro/fr/default
June 22, 2015 at 6:48 am #971824GeorgeParticipantHey @Agence,
I’m very sorry about the mistake with the Finnish translation there, we just corrected this and the most recent version of the actual French translation is now on the project page there → http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects/events-pro/fr/default
It may still have some strings that need updating, but at least is in the right language now 🙂 Sorry about that!

June 22, 2015 at 8:48 am #971899pderatheParticipantHello George.
I followed what you suggest on june 18th… and I’ve found some finnish words in my site. 🙁
So, following your instruction of june 22nd, I reloaded and uploaded both of
tribe-events-calendar-fr_FR.po & tribe-events-calendar-fr_FR.mo (in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang)
and
tribe-events-calendar-pro-fr_FR.mo & tribe-events-calendar-pro-fr_FR.po (in /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/lang)Note : the files end with “fr_FR” which should be the proper ending for french translation files , no ?
I confirm that my default language is french in WP settings
but
I still see
“Upcomming events” in the title metakey
and
“FIND EVENTS” in the general Events pages + “Suivant events” (which is a mix of french and english) + “View as” + “Search” + “EXPORT LISTED EVENTS”
in http://www.rhinojazz.com/concerts/?action=tribe_photo&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=photoand
“Précédents Events” (which is a mix of french and english)
in http://www.rhinojazz.com/concerts/?action=tribe_photo&tribe_paged=2&tribe_event_display=photoIn a detail page I see
“Related Events”
in http://www.rhinojazz.com/concert/hugh-coltman-gbfr/I shoul have missed something or you still have an issue in the Event Calendar plugin (Pro and non-Pro)
June 23, 2015 at 6:11 am #972128GeorgeParticipantHi @pderathe,
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve continued to have trouble with this translation on your site – as @agence reported above, the French translation on translations.theeventscalendar.com was accidentally uploaded as a Finnish one. We’ve fixed that in General, but it’s possible there are still broken or untranslated strings.
We will approve translations as fast as we can to rectify these problems.
Thank you everyone for your patience while we adapt to the new system and bring our translations up-to-date after the 3.10 update.

June 23, 2015 at 6:41 am #972142pderatheParticipantHello George
Thanks for your answer
I don’t see any issue in the tribe-events-calendar-pro-fr_FR.po file so I guess that there is no issue in the tribe-events-calendar-pro-fr_FR.mo file regenerated by POEDIT V1.8.1.Same for tribe-events-calendar-fr_FR.po and the re-generated tribe-events-calendar-fr_FR.mo.
Do you confirm that the name of the files are OK : tribe-events-calendar-pro-fr_FR and ribe-events-calendar-fr_FR ?
Best regards
Pascal
June 23, 2015 at 6:47 am #972145GeorgeParticipantThe file names are indeed okay Pascal, I know I’ve already mentioned but just to say it again – we are working to approve translation submissions as fast as possible, so if you still problems with .mo and .po files from the translations site itself, it’s just a temporary problem while the translation is being brought up to speed.
Thank you for your patience with us and with this process,
GeorgeJune 23, 2015 at 7:14 am #972157pderatheParticipantAgain I’m pretty sure that it is not an issue with my “.mo” and “.po” files, because I’ve checked them with POEDIT.
You confirm that the names of my 4 files are OK….SO it should be elsewhere.
Best regards
Pascal
June 23, 2015 at 7:42 am #972180GeorgeParticipantThanks Pascal.
For everyone on this thread, please stay tuned to this ticket while work on approving translations.
Thanks!
GeorgeJuly 1, 2015 at 4:40 am #974074Robert-JanGuestHello,
I have the same problems with Dutch translations. The problem is that when i opened the file in poedit everything looks fine. But still i have the same english translations within the website like “upcoming evenementen”. So i think has nothing to do with the translations itself but more within the wrong reference coding within the plugin.
Regards,
Robert-JanJuly 1, 2015 at 4:41 pm #974380GeorgeParticipantHey Robert-Jan,
This could be because of the Dutch translation itself being outdated, which could happen if it’s based on an outdated .pot file – this could mean that it looks fine in poedit but, as you mentioned, is referencing the wrong line numbers in the code and such.
Please check the Dutch translations for your plugin on translations.theeventscalendar.com and look for updates, and/or bad translations that you can correct. We approve as fast as possible and are working urgently to bring all the files up to speed.
Thanks,
George -
