ParticipantHey Thomas,
Thanks for these updates. Are all issues resolved now? If not, and some issues still remain, can you clarify which issues remain specifically?
And on what domain names they are persisting on? Thanks.
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 27, 2016 at 4:02 pm in reply to: Calendar AJAX requests with wp-admin cookie security #1169544George
ParticipantJavaScript tomfoolery? Awesome. š
Sorry we weren’t able to provide a robust solution here yetāI’m glad you’ve got a workaround in place, and encourage you to stay tuned to our plugin updates to stay abreast of news regarding the REST API integration.
It won’t be coming for at least several months, to be honest, but it is something we are taking seriously and already spending time thinking about.
Cheers Matt, best of luck with your projects in the meantimeāopen a new thread here any time if other issues or questions arise.

ParticipantHey Matt,
Thanks for reaching out.
There is unfortunately no workaround for this at this time. š It’s a totally reasonable thing for us to try and provide some better support for, though, and I brought this issue to our developers and they agreed that we should think a bit more about how we can help folks in this situation. At some point there will be full REST API support, which should be great, but until then…there’s nothing as of now. š
It may be possible to also add exceptions for Tribe AJAX requests, based on a regex test of the “action” field when it is set.
āļø Doing this would take some tinkering on the level of custom coding on your site, so it’s outside the scope of support we can provide unfortunately, but should be possible…
Cheers, and sorry to bear the bad news here!

ParticipantHey Ellen,
Thanks for reaching out!
We unfortunately do not have any add-ons at this time that add a “premium listing” feature to community events. š
Sorry to disappoint!
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Rob,
Thanks for reaching out!
To be clear, are you trying to leave everything else on your site searchable and indexable by search engines? So that, i.e., you only want to prevent indexing on events?
Or do you want to prevent index of all content on your site?
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Douglas,
Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest in our plugins.
There aren’t any known or reported issues with Beaver Builder and our plugins, though it has come up in our forums from time to time over the years.
Many customers of ours use our plugins with Beaver Builderāthere shouldn’t be any significant issues. I should note that The Events Calendar is free, so definitely try out this core plugin with Beaver Builder before starting to test out any other premium add-ons of ours.
I hope this helps!

ParticipantHey Marie Lene,
Thanks for clarifying this a bit!
The operand attribute DOES work for the tribe_this_week shortcode, but not currently for the tribe_events_list shortcode. š
Sorry to disappoint!
When it comes to getting the specific listing of events like you describe, then, there is unfortunately no way of doing this with the list shortcode at this time. I tried looking for some filters we could use, so that I could write a custom snippet of code for you to make this possible until we add this feature to our plugins outrightābut unfortunately there no filters that would be able to help make this possible.
One thing I have done, though, is make a ticket for our developers to add support for the “operand” feature in the list shortcodes. So hopefully this feature will be supported at some point in future months and beyond.
Sorry to bear the bad news here, Marie. Please let me know what you think and if there are any other questions I can try to help with!
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThank you for the kind words!
Can you please clarify what you mean when you say, “The API key from Google Maps is ok”?
1. Do you mean you have added an API key?
2. Have you followed the exact steps in this article? ā https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/
Please make sure you set up your site exactly according to this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/
Let us know if that helps!

ParticipantHey Alexander,
Thanks for reaching out.
Your theme is what dictates most of the front-end styles of anything on your site, so your theme is a huge part of these issues.
However, can you please check out the edit screen for this page? View editor in Text mode, not Visual mode, and ensure that the shortcode looks something like this:
[tribe_mini_calendar]And NOT anything like this:
<pre>[tribe_mini_calendar]</pre>āļø Do you find any such tags like this in your edit screen? If so, once you remove them and save the changes, how do things look?
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Mathew,
Thanks for chiming in hereāI appreciate the links you provided and the information.
Unfortunately, Event Rocket was never an official plugin we made, nor supportedāand it actually is no longer being actively maintained, either, so that plugin has reached its “End of Life” period. š
I would not recommend using that plugin, Marieāas for seeking support for it, the only recommendation I could make would be to go to its free support forums and seek help there: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/event-rocket
However, as noted the plugin is no longer maintained or supported.
Sorry to bear this news!
Please let me know if there is anything else I can try to help with.
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks for elaborating here, Dan. I’m sorry for the workarounds you currently have to use, and for the fact that multiple separate views cannot be used at this time.
Will this new update allow us to add a weekly view to one page and a month view to another? That would be incredibly helpf
āļø Yes, the new forthcoming shortcode will exactly this sort of thing. We’re stoked to share it with the world!
You can learn more about the forthcoming features in this blog post here, if you’re interested ā https://theeventscalendar.com/a-look-at-whats-coming-in-our-4-3-release/
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Anja,
I’m really sorry to hear about these issues!
Do you have FTP access to your site?
I am not sure what happened here, but it sounds like the best route forward would be to do the following things:
- Log into your server via FTP
- DELETE any /the-events-calendar folder in /wp-content/plugins ā this will not delete any actual events content you’ve made yet.
- DELETE any /events-calendar-pro folders in /wp-content/plugins ā this will not delete any actual events content you’ve made yet.
- Once both things are deleted, download a fresh copy of The Events Calendar directly from wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar
- Install that freshly-downloaded version on your site
- Activate the newly-installed version The Events Calendar
āļø How do things go when you do this? Stop after activating the newly-installed version of The Events Calendar and let us know how things go. We can proceed with installing Events Calendar Pro from there only if things go well!
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Amin,
Thanks for reaching out.
Our plugins do not have any special support for Visual Composer, but there are not other reports of this specific issue….
I see in your System Informationāthanks for sharing it!āthat you’re using the most recent version of all of our software, so that’s not an issue here. There may be a code conflictāto help reveal if this is the case, do any errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.
In the meantime I would also recommend opening a support ticket with the Visual Composer folks if you haven’t done so already.
Let us know what you find!

ParticipantHey Joan,
Thanks for reaching out!
The requirements for our plugins are the same as the requirements for WordPress itself. So, PHP version 5.6 or greater and MySQL version 5.6 or greater (OR MariaDB version 10.0 or greater).
f you are in a legacy environment where you only have older PHP or MySQL versions, WordPress and our plugins will also work with PHP 5.2.4+ and MySQL 5.0+. But these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.
I hope this information helps!
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Dan,
Thanks for reaching out.
You say in your post, “I have three pages that each have a calendar using The Events Calendar plugin.”
Can you share links to each of the three pages, if you don’t mind? I’m just interested in seeing how you have this configured, because our plugins by default do not support multiple events pages.
This factāthat multiple events pages are not supported by defaultāties into my answer to your main question here: no, you cannot have multiple “default views” for separate pages at this time.
Our next plugin update will introduce a new shortcode that allows for embeds of full calendar views, so something like this will be trivially possible. This update is coming in the first week or two of October, if all goes to plan.
Until then, what you are trying to do here is not possible with our plugins. š
Sincerely,
George -
