    Hello!

I’m so sorry about this, but I actually misfired in my initial post about this and have confirmed with our development team that the bugfixes for the iCal import end times is actually still in its final stages of testing—it has not launched yet and is not yet available.

    My apologies!

It should still be arriving soon nonetheless—stay tuned to this thread and to our product news for updates!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Sorry, Stéphane.

Let me be more clear. I would recommend doing these specific steps:

    1. Deactivate EVERY PLUGIN on your site.
    2. Do your issues with the menu links happen in this state?

    Thanks!

    Hey Stéphane,

Earlier you said that if you do nothing but deactivate the theme, the links work.

Can you please confirm what happens if you leave that theme active, but deactivate The Events Calendar, Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and Events Calendar Pro on your site? Do the links then work, or do they still stay broken?

Sorry to ask this again, I’m just a bit confused about what exactly happens on your site. Please let me know.

    Hey Julie,

I notice your WordPress version is 4.6.1 — does upgrading to the latest version, 4.7, help at all here?

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi Gray,

I’ve been taking a look at your home page and have identified a number of JavaScript errors — however, they don’t seem explicitly related to our plugins at all, so I’m a bit confused about why only the 4.3.4.1 versions of our plugins are giving you grief.

I was unfortunately not able to come up with a quick custom code solution on-the-spot like I’d hoped — with this in mind, I would recommend the following things:

    1. Revert your version of The Events Calendar to 4.3.4 in the meantime so that things look alright.

    2. Upload a .zip of your theme and your child theme (if using one) to a site like Dropbox, or http://ge.tt, or cloudup.com, etc — then share the download link so that I can download your theme files and try to replicate your issues on my own local test site, so that I can dig a bit deeper into this.

    3. In the meantime, while you wait for me to do that digging into your theme, please contact the Divi theme folks as well. The JavaScript errors that arose don’t seem explicitly related to our plugins, despite your findings. For example, you could share with the Divi folks that on your homepage there were two uncaught exception: undefined errors, and also the error TypeError: body is null, which I think is specifically the culprit here…they may be able to shed some light on this, because again, neither error is related to our plugins directly, so it’s a bit weird.

↑ With these three steps, you’ll be in a state where your site looks okay temporarily to the public (because it’ll run 4.3.4 while we work on the issues); you’ll be in dialogue with the Divi team to get their insights on this; and we’ll be working on this with our own test sites and trying to zero in on a problem. So hopefully this process helps us move forward with your issues while keeping your actual public-facing site in action.

Sorry for the trouble, Gray. I appreciate your patience thus far and am determined to help resolve these problems.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hi James,

We unfortunately don’t guarantee support for any version of jQuery that is not included in WordPress Core.

It is extremely well-known bad practice for developers to dequeue the WordPress version of jQuery and enqueue their own, which your theme framework seems to be doing. This is very, very bad practice that the WordPress community has condemned for years—please contact your theme support and urge them to use better code in their framework.

In the meantime, the specific error you cite may not actually be related to that—this error has come up other times for other reasons, so I’ll unfortunately need to take a closer look under-the-hood with your theme to try and identify the specific cause of that error. It may be solvable with a bit of custom code I can try to write for you.

    To help me investigate this:
    1. Please upload a copy of your theme and any child theme you’re using, so that I can download all of these files and test them out myself.

    2. Please confirm all of the places you find this error. You mention the “add events page” when you’re signed in, for example—do you mean the wp-admin “Add Event” page where you create one event? Or do you mean the front-end Community Events page where users submit events via the submission form? Or both? Be specific and let me know all locations where you see this error happening.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi David,

This could be happening for a couple of reasons—no worries though, I’m happy to help and it’s likely a quick fix.

Can you head to Events → Settings → Licenses in your wp-admin, and take a screenshot of the whole page there? Then, share that screenshot here. You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread directly—or, if you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.

This will help me diagnose your problem.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shaun,

    1. Which plugins did you try specifically?

    2. Can you post the complete System Information for your site to this thread, as per the instructions here? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    3. What web host are you using? WP Engine, for example? Page.ly? Media Temple? GoDaddy Web Hosting? A2? HostGator? BlueHost? etc…whichever web host you’re using, let us know. Or if you’re self-hosting on our own server, let us know a bit about its config: are you using Apache? nginx? Etc.

    Thanks!

    Hey Stephane,

Thanks for confirming this. If doing nothing else on your site but deactivating your theme makes things work, then your theme is causing those things to break.

We do not make that theme and our plugins are not related to your theme, so there is fortunately not much we can do from a support side here — please contact the support and developers of that theme and see if they have insights as to why their theme is breaking navigation links.

Best of luck with your site!

    Hey @Gray,

Thanks for this — I’m sorry to bear this news, and I understand the situation you describe when you upgrade to 4.3.4.1, but if possible, can you please keep 4.3.4.1 so that I can see the broken featured image there and try to recommend a fix?

I understand the inconvenience of this and am genuinely sorry about it, but there’s not really another way for me to go about fixing your specific issue here. 🙁 I can assure you I will work quickly and pay close attention to this thread so as to minimize the amount of time your site is in that broken state!

    Thank you,
    George

    Hi Michel,

Can you please link to a page on your site where we can take a look at the widget’s responsiveness firsthand? The screenshots are helpful—thank you!—but seeing the widgets firsthand is necessary to truly determine what’s going on.

Responsiveness is largely dictated by your theme, not by our plugins, so I will take a look and try to see what’s happening.

    Thank you,

Absolutely, Kaylan — I’m sorry to disappoint about the lack of this feature for now, but have noted your vote for it here. We pay close attention to what customers frequently ask us, and just yesterday I had two separate threads including this one where customers wanted more control over the order of tickets’ displaying on the front-end.

So this may indeed become a feature in our plugins at some point. I will be honest and can say that there is nothing planned on the near horizon, but stay tuned to plugin updates and releases to see what features make it into the plugins.

    Thanks!
    George
