Hi there, Thomas! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the issues. Let’s get this back on track together.

Both issues sound like a conflict with either your theme or another installed plugin. Will you please follow these troubleshooting steps and let me know what you find?

since the site is active i’ve made the widget inactive

Is it possible to create a test site in a subdirectory? That would give us more flexibility to troubleshoot without interrupting your existing site.

If so, please go ahead and set that up with a fresh WordPress installation, a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fourteen), and only The Events Calendar, The Events Calendar PRO and Community Events plugins installed for the time being.

Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Interesting question!

The link for an event is echoed using:

    <?php tribe_event_link( $post ); ?>

You could likely write a filter that intercepts the tribe_event_link() function and replace $post with the Show post type ID instead. That would certainly do the trick.

Or, perhaps you could override the calendar template and modify it so it includes your custom post type link instead of tribe_event_link(). The template you want to override depends on the view you are using for the calendar, but our Themer’s Guide provides a thorough outline of all the available templates and how to override them in your theme files.

Does this help? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Awesome, I’m glad that helps George! Thanks for following up and letting me know.

Heads up: we just released version 3.9.1 of WooTickets and it includes that fix. That means you can remove the snippet from your functions.php file and install the new version of the plugin. Definitely don’t need to have that fix in there twice. 🙂

is there an easy way to revert to an older version of a plugin?

Good question–yes, there are actually two methods for doing that and they’re covered nicely in this WordPress Codex article. If you download the previous version, then you can follow the steps outlined in the article.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but please feel free to start a new one if you have additional questions and we’d be happy to help.

    Cheers!

Awesome, I’m glad the events submitted through the Community form are back to normal! Thanks for confirming.

We generally prefer that a new thread is opened for new questions so that we can keep the dialogue and answers together and organized. That said, we do have a tutorial available that outlines how to add the featured image to the the tooltip box when hovered in Month View.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it appears we’ve hit the issue you were experiencing, but please feel free to start a new thread if you have any additional follow-up questions about the tutorial and adding images and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Lisa–thanks for following up!

That’s certainly strange, especially because many of the instances in that screenshot are accessible on the site and do not return a 404. They’re real pages with content but simply do not contain an event on that specific day.

My hunch is that these pages are getting indexed by the SEO plugin you have installed using a method that we do not employ ourselves.

You can remove those pages by deactivating the Day View option under Events> Settings > Display and removing the “Day” option under Enable events views.

Otherwise, I’m afraid this is the same case you noted above where the Yoast team will need to provide a method for removing the functionality its implementing from the calendar.

Thanks for following up, Catherine! Sorry this is causing a headache…

Will you please send to the link the event that was generated but that you can’t locate on the calendar? It might help if I can see an instance where the issue is popping up.

In the meantime, will you please run through these troubleshooting steps? I’m wondering if the issue still happens when all other plugins are deactivated and when using a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fourteen). Try that, then test it by submitting a new event via the Community form under those conditions.

Also, are you running the latest versions of the plugins? The Events Calendar is currently at 3.9.1 and Community Events is currently at 3.9.

    Thanks!
