MemberHello David!
Yeah, search in PRO will not include Tags either. However, you might want to check out our Filter Bar plugin–this allows visitors to search events by a number of different variables to filter the calendar–including tags.
Would that work for you? Please let me know. π

MemberHey there, Dorian!
Good question. The Events Calendar plugins wouldn’t actually be capable of serving upsells and promos during the checkout process, but the ecommerce platform you use might have a way of doing it. For example, I see that WooCommere has an extension for doing something that might work in this case.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions here and I’d be happy to help. π

MemberHi there, David!
Interesting question. It is certainly possible to hide categories from the calendar (see this tutorial). A deeper customization might be to add a condition in there that checks to see if a specific visitor is logged in and is an administrator, then either hides or displays those categories.
You could also mark any event as “Private” or “Password Protected” which will require visitors to either be logged in or have a password to see a specific event.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. π

MemberHi there, Denise!
Quick question: do you have a page on your site called Events? For example, do you see another page called Events when you go to the Pages tab of the WordPress dashboard? If so, please delete that page because it would conflict with the Events archive that The Events Calendar creates to display the calendar.
If that’s not the case, we’ll try some deeper troubleshooting. π
Thanks!
GeoffMay 18, 2015 at 8:47 am in reply to: re-occurring events calendar with mailchimp + paypal. Does your product do this? #963318Geoff
MemberHi there, Yume–thanks for getting in touch!
Good questions. MailChimp doesn’t directly integrate with any of our plugins, but that doesn’t mean they don’t work together. For example, the RSS to Email feature in MailChimp works really well with Events posts. Is there a specific type of functionality you were wondering about?
Paypal can integrate using one of the ticketing add-ons we offer. Ticketing allows you to create tickets for your events, then integrates with the ecommerce platform of your choice (WooCommerce, WPEC, Shopp, EDD) which then integrates directly with Paypal.
Have you checked out our non-profit program? If you qualify, then you could get all of our plugins free of change. Definitely worth checking out. π

MemberHi there, David!
Good question. The best way to have a set category when someone visits the calendar is going to be linking directly to that category as the main calendar link. So, for example: [your-site]/tep-events/category/[category-slug]. That will display only the events in that category and allow your visitors to filter from there.
Does this help? Please let me know. π

MemberHello Kelvin–thanks for getting in touch!
If you’re looking at the Community Events plugin, then yes, that would be a great one for giving people the ability to submit events from the front end of your site.
However, Community Events does not currently support the ability for others to publish tickets to the events they submit.Β It’s an idea that has been suggested here but unfortunately isn’t available at the moment.
Does this help clarify things a bit? Let me know if you have follow-up questions here and I’d be happy to help. π

MemberHi Steve, thanks for getting in touch!
Yeah, that would a very good feature–in fact, it’s a popular idea that’s been suggested and something that we’re just starting to dig into. So, the good news is that we’re definitely planning to have that available in a future version. The downside, of course, is that it is not currently available.
If you add your vote to the link above, you will receive updates on the development of the feature.
Sorry, I know that’s not the answer you were hoping for, but does it help answer your question? Please let me know. π
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Chetan!
Sure, I think that would be totally possible using theΒ get_avatar() function in an if/else statement like that.
I’m not quite sure if that snippet you shared has an impact on Events posts. However, the calendar template does call for the featured image, so you could add the conditional if/else statement directly to the template instead. So, something like:
<?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) { echo tribe_event_featured_image( $event_id, 'full', false ); } else { echo get_avatar(); } ?>You can also check out our Themer’s Guide for more details on how to override calendar templates.
Does that help you get started? Please let me know. π
Cheers!
