    Howdy Matt,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums! I hope you’ve been enjoying the plugins so far. 🙂

Good question. It’s worth noting that you need to have categories already created in order for that section to appear. Once you have entered in Event Categories in the WordPress admin, then those who submit events to your calendar will have the option to add them.

Let me know if you already have Event Categories set up and they are still not displayed and I’d be happy to look into it more with you.

    Thanks so much!

You bet, Scott, and sorry again for the bad news. I do appreciate you writing in and I hope that our plugins will be a solid fit for you down the road.

Cheers and have a great day!

    Hi Diane,

Thanks for getting in touch! I was just checking out your site and it’s looking really great so far — nice work!

As I was looking around, it appears that there are lines between the events when there are multiple events on the same day. Here’s a screenshot of what I saw.

Were you able to resolve this on your own? If i’m looking in the wrong place, please feel free to point me in the right direction and I’d be happy to keep looking into it with you. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Florian,

Good question! The plugin does not have this sort of capability right out of the box. That said, I do think this is possible, though it will take a bit of custom development on your end to make it happen.

The way I would suggest going about it is to use the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. That will allow you to create a checkbox in the event editor and check it if an event is full. Then, if checked, it will display a message on the front-end.

You will need to add the field to the event templates where you want the message to display. You can refer to our Themer’s Guide for more information on how to override calendar templates with your own modified versions. And the Advanced Custom Fields documentation provides a good overview of what code you will need to add to the calendar template to display a message.

Does this makes sense and will it help get the ball rolling for you? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hey there!

You sure can. In fact, there are a number of dev-related domains that we do not count against the use of a license, which are outlined here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-live-dev-sites/

I’ll also note that a license is not needed for the plugin to function — it simply activates automatic updates. That means you can install the plugin on both sites and even have them unregistered and they will function as intended.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Scott,

Great question! I’m afraid that events that have been imported from Facebook do not display a list of Facebook users who are attending the event.

Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

    Hi Ron,

Just to confirm: was I correct that the license was entered in the field for Event Aggregator instead of Events Calendar PRO?

If so, then you will want to enter the license in the field for Events Calendar PRO, then save your settings.

    Cheers!

    Hi Ronald,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

It sounds like you may have inadvertently entered the license for Events Calendar PRO in the field for Event Aggregator.

Would you be willing to navigate to Events > Settings > Licenses and confirming that the license is entered in the correct field for me? If it is, will you please take a screenshot of it and include it here for in a private reply so I can check it out?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Anne,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

It’s definitely possible to keep past events as long as you would like them. The plugin will not remove them unless you actually delete them and they can be accessed by heading to [your-site]/events/past.

I am actually not aware of the previous events link not working and did not see an open ticket for it in our system. We’d be happy to help troubleshoot that with you if you would be willing to post a thread over on our WordPress.org support forum. We provide free support there once a week. It would be really helpful if you could follow the steps outlined in this post as a starting point and let us know the results of it in your post.

    Thanks so much!

    Hey Fabio,

Great question! While we do have a plugin called Community Events that allows you to accept front-end event submissions, I’m afraid that it does not allow submissions by URL import.

Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Hey Alex,

    Thanks for writing in!

Oh yeah, Event Aggregator at a Personal-level license will be just right. It allows you up to 100 scheduled imports per month, so that will be plenty if you’re only importing once per week.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

Hi Jonathan and thanks for reaching out!

That is a great question. Tags are a default WordPress functionality, so they’re going to overlap between any and all post types that have activated them. That said, you can use Event Categories on events instead of Tags to prevent that overlap.

Does this makes sense and will it work for you? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!
